I like my m9. It’s my first external display iv ever bought. Been gaming on 15.6 1080p laptop screens for the last 10 years so this is light years better!
The biggest problem with this monitor is the price. in the UK it costs 999 where as the GP27u costs 789 while having a higher refresh ,wider colour gamut and more dimming zones.
and the gp27u has its own issues that make it not even worth that price I believe it still has bugs and once you turn on local dimming the input lag goes up and that was the dealbreaker for me also the color uniformity the screen has blooming issues and wake from sleep issues in safe mode and last but not least you can't run the monitor at 1440p or 1080p @ 160hz only 160hz works at 4k on the gp27u right now
@@IdeoDLaw What would be 48Gbps practical advantage over 40Gbps? In short, nothing. I was banging my head why makers do make this cuts, and realized why in practice it is the same. Since full HDMI 2.1 and DP use compression to display +144Hz 4K. Only half bandwidth of 24Gbps HDMI 2.1 is less then DP 1.4 and that is unreasonable cut (used by Gigabyte, Dell…).
This is my second choice, tomorrow I will the 3rd odessy Neo G7 which is two of them I got, first was open box and edges wasn't attached together I paid for new ones not open box. and the second one had 4 dead pixels and 7 stuck pixels. I returned both Re-ordered another if I got unlucky again I'm gonna buy this Sony, or gigabyte m32 u 🙉 Thanks for reviewing
I could not reproduce the issues with the backlight mentioned in the video. I agree that the speaker are crap, but i like that they include them, believe when you do like an error check or something they do come in handy. Also I like the stand it gives this monitor character and I works for me. Ones I placed my monitor I really if ever touch it and I found it easy enough to get the viewing position I like. I really like the 163 ppi it makes this monitor great for more than gaming an content consumption, it really works for creative and document work. The included KVM powered USB-C port has enough power to trickle charge my MBP M1 13" at 144hz putting an Apple Studio Display ($1599) to shame. I love being able to switch seamlessly be it and my gaming PC, just having one set of peripherals on your desk is just excellent.
I was excited about this monitor when it was first announced. At the time I was using the LG 27GP950 which has an outstanding SDR picture but the HDR is bad. The 96 dimming zones excited me (compared to the LG's 16). Anyways, I got the monitor and knew I would return it after a day of use. The HDR is better than the LG's, but it isn't anything mind blowing. The speakers...my god, Sony should be embarrassed for putting such trashy sounding speakers on a "premium" monitor. They are the worst speakers I have ever heard on a monitor or a T.V. . It would have been better to leave them off (along with the weak RGB lighting). I have since discovered the I prefer VA panels over IPS and now use the Samsung Neo G7. The M9, in my opinion, is not worth the price.
i wanna get this monitor but i heard that during in gameplay it goes in and out and that the screen sometimes flickers? can someone confirmed this for me please
I have not seen this. My panel had a weird issue at high brightness i could see the zones lined up and down. Like in hockey. But otherwise its a really good monitor. No black screens etc
Great video, thanks for sharing, i got a question im thinking on buying it but it is possible to use my own stand i got a dual monitor stand can i use it on this monitor?
Nice vid ! Hey can you do (if you always have it) a video about 27gp850 HDR performance? I ask because i owned a G7 that had weird issues after 1 year and i swap it with a 27gp850 being sure that i will be disapointed with HDR... BUT actually i feel it brighter and colors more saturated and vibrants... Contrast is surely not as good but with my bias rgb lights and the pop of colours it is not bad a t all. What do you think about this monitor, for me it's amazing and doesnt have all the vrr and qualtity issues that the G7 has. Let me know!
Like you mention its way overpriced especially considering whats coming. I have seen this monitor in action and much prefer the Neo Odyssey G7 with mini leds (my current monitor) that I got on sale for $999. Now just waiting on Best Buy to get the LF 27" OLED page live here in the US and that will be my next monitor I test. Great review btw.
mine is coming tomorrow I went with a lg pre order but I believe best buy is a month behind as for the lg 240hz oled monitors they have the 45'' model releasing early feb so I also believe the 27'' model will release next month at best buy as well
I bought this monitor in November when it was on sale for 799 and so far the screen is amazing besides that the stand, led light, and speakers are dog shit!
The M9 is very good. But I had some backlight issues like seen here. Also the stand is ugly and limiting on the M9 but it has a nicer picture in both sdr and hdr bs the gp950. The M9 also auto calibrates itself for use on a ps5. Its just that stand that is bad
Both are great. Neo for the size and many more zones. But... the Sony is nice and gets very bright not much blooming when I web browse as on the Neo I need to turn off Local dimming as blooming is too much. Its tough friend.. you can pick either and would be very happy.
coolermaster tempest gp27u blows this sony out of the water and I was not even happy with the gp27u I guess after using oled for so long now I am so used to it as for my lg 27'' oled 240hz I should have it tomorrow lg shipped it late yesterday

Not even full 48gb hdmi 2.1 😂

So after your real life experience, what would be your advice some new fast VA? Like neo G7-8
I don’t consider OLED due to burn in 😭

Aye bro, my Gr95qe arrives tomorrow. :D!!!
Congrats friend... Mine arrived yesterday!!
@@DisplayReality Right on!
Just a question…when I play at 120fps on the ps5 with this monitor …. My graphics turn a little blurry and can’t see as far in game… how come ?
Did you have any specific settings you used on this monitor?
Like you mention its way overpriced especially considering whats coming. Whats the name of the indie racing game you are playing?
Hey mate. Whats better this or the G7 Neo?

I think the GP27U is a better deal, Can't justify the price on the M9 though.
Viktor - "If I had to suffer so do you" *speaker test. XD
Great vid once again! Thank you.
Looks like a good PQ but just to much $$$ over all.
🤣
This or Neo G7 32 Mini LED?
Both are great. I would prefer the Neo G7 for the stand and more zones. But you just need to accept the curve.
VIK my man
please Review with GTA 5 Graphics
I want this monitor in 32 inch
Why pay 899 for a monitor when you can get a lg c2 42 inch for 996 lol.
True... the C2 42" at 799 on sale was the best deal ever...
coolermaster tempest gp27u blows this sony out of the water and I was not even happy with the gp27u I guess after using oled for so long now I am so used to it as for my lg 27'' oled 240hz I should have it tomorrow lg shipped it late yesterday
I’ve heard you always have to do firmware updates? I’ve never done that before so that’s what’s stopping me from getting it
How is the lg oled monitor? I am thinking of getting the lg oled as well, currently using gigabyte m32u
Yo Vik
Hey Michael! :)
