Hey SSundee, I very much appreciate you addressing things, rather than just ignoring them. The server’s new skyblock mode looks very cool, I joined it myself and looked around too and was very impressed. Thank you very much for removing the crates from your server, very few servers end up doing so and it’s extremely admirable. Your staff is right in that it's an industry norm across servers, and even other games to feature lootboxes/crates, which is the main thing I’ve actively advocated against in minecraft, as obviously gambling is extremely harmful, especially when those participating are not adults. You mentioned at 15:45 “when you spend money on the store, you know exactly what you are going to get”, and that’s exactly the type of ethical monetisation on servers I promote (its the same monetisation my server has too). I think this is a great way to go about it, as removing the deception that comes with crates, removes almost all of the harms server monetisation has. On pay-to-win, you are entirely right about it being a difficult topic, and any server owner knows that you basically need to be pay to win, in order to remain functional. The problem I personally had with your server was never that it was pay to win, but that it had pay to win gambling (which I mentioned in my videos). There is absolutely nothing wrong with being pay to win, minecraft servers are extremely expensive, that’s unavoidable, but having pay to win crates, is actively harmful to the servers' significant number of young players, and is something servers don’t need to survive. I never believed you were “money hungry” either, I’d played many of your older servers such as titanmc, and had great experiences I still cherish on them, I know you actually care about your servers, moreso then most other youtubers, and this video just proves it. One final thing I want to point out is what you mentioned at 22:00. I agree with you that “attacking the server”, is probably not the best way to get server owners to listen, but the issue is, most server owners will never truly listen until they get significant backlash/negative publicity. The goal with the duping videos, was never to actually “damage” the servers economy/gamemodes (i’ve made videos in the past talking about how this never happens), but rather to use such videos to vocalise complaints and issues I, and many others had with the servers monetisation. The duping videos are great for that, in that they always perform well and as such get the most attention, and thus are most likely to cause actual change. And obviously I’m not going to pretend that I’m also not doing it because I know it will be an entertaining video that will perform well, at the end of the day youtube is my job, but I truly do care about the minecraft multiplayer landscape, and want it to improve. I can highly respect seeing "serious ssundee" talking about the topic and being fully transparent on why things have happened in the past, and what the plans are going forward.
I’ve watched SSundee for years and never thought anything bad about him, I personally wouldn’t have even known that there were any complaints. I’m thankful that he’s willing to explain this predicament to even people who weren’t questioning/hating on him. All that to say I have been and will continue to support SSundee for years, I can tell your a good guy who’s just wanting to make a fun game for us to play.

1: No online gambling with the rng. You addressed this TY. 2: Premium items being obtainable through other means. There are servers that have oppressive advantages that make it impossible to FTP Things that work great: kits that give like a 1.25x-1.5x xp multiplier voucher. Not like 3-5x unless it's also obtainable elsewhere (ex. a mob drops it that is accessable). It's appealing due to the recursive nature of kits. cosmetics: anything that looks really cool, particle based wings are popular, skins for weapons. Make sure that it is not obstructive in pvp though. (make it toggle-able in settings for those with lower end PCs that can't handle it or think that it gets in the way of gameplay.) Things to avoid: exclusive shop to donors weapons/armor that you can't get otherwise (extends to weapons/armor that take hundreds of hours to obtain, meet in the middle at like an 8hr shortcut). multiplier vouchers that are impossible to obtain without being obtainable elsewhere. These being preferably in PVE zones, nobody wants to be oppressed by someone who has a time advantage due to donating and then being unable to receive those same benefits. What PVP is for: fun engagements for people who want to events wager fights (it may be wise to divide it into tiers to keep super progressed individuals away from people who just joined)

A good suggestion for the server is 2 things: Sell time, have everything accessible both in the store and in game to collect, like if something would take a hour to get a stack, sell a stack of that item for $15. Something would only take a few minutes then sell if for less. Also a good idea would be to sell non game affecting things, such as emotes, and skins, and capes. Perhaps sell inventory space, or vaults. Things that are benefits to the user but will not affect other players negatively. Maybe allow players to pay for specific, non benefit ranks, like something that does not give them more power on the server but allows them to define themselves in a fun way.
I stopped watching Ssundee about 3 years ago, and seeing the scandal which came from this was incredibly disappointing. However, this is a massive turnaround and a monumental improvement. Proud to see a childhood RUclipsr do the right thing(which is kinda sad that it’s so unique)

Honestly I fully understand this world runs on money it sucks but it’s life I spend money when I enjoy a game not to get good or go crazy but to help make the game enjoyable because that’s what I want from a game and that’s how it should be but everyone’s definition of fun is different and it’s hard to make something everyone enjoys but props to you for doing your best you’ve got a heart of gold man thanks for years of fun and many more to come

Ive watched ssundee since his first prison gameplay and FTB with Lancy. I became a mod on one of his prison servers because I was such a huge fan, then he started playing fortnite and amogus and pivoted towards more child friendly content right when I was becoming an adult. It just didn't interest me anymore. This video is such a blast from the past and I remember seeing some things about the server having issues with its monetization. Im glad that even if Ssundee changes his content to appeal to more people. He is still the ssundee I loved and still love from way back when.

I’ve never doubted SSundee’s character as a person. Even though there is always a divide between the RUclipsr persona and the actual person behind the mask, you can tell that SSundee behind the mask is almost exactly the same funny, love able, caring, prankster that he is on RUclips. I don't mind the idea of crates, but making it more accessible like let's say you kill a mob and you have a chance of getting a crate key. example you kill a level one skeleton you're only most likely going to get 1% chance of getting a common key. and if you kill a level 100 skeleton and or creeper you have a chance of getting an epic key crate.
As i have watched sundee since the hardcore series, i have grown and matured watching him and i understand the need to make a living but make the game fun at the same time.i understand that if a server so complex and full of content like iblocky needs a large team that need to be paid and congratulated for their time and effort to making the server a better community.i hope everyone sees these reasons why things had to be done and why they are now being changed.all sundee wants is to be the best he can whilst still treating his team/staff withe tge respect they deserve.

As a previous staff member, I'm glad they took the approach they did. I unfortunately won't be playing this time around due to time constraints, and the previous dramas and the stuff on the server that happened making it rough on myself and others but I'm happy to see that they're working on bettering the server this time around.

I came from another YT’s video whom I shall not name. I dont think it’s money hungry at all to include paid content in your server. It’s when you introduce gambling (yes, that’s what it is) to your audience who you know is mostly kids. However, I’m glad you’re addressing this and actually handled this really well. I do like how serious this is. It's a nice change of pace, while I do like the kind of "Act" that he puts on for the video, having him sit down and talk through all these serious issues is really nice.

I’ve never been on the server myself, as I unfortunately don’t have a personal computer right now, but I did see the videos and was shocked to see the hate and disrespect you were getting. It broke my heart to see people saying how awful you were, when you’re just a fun dude who’s trying to make peoples lives better. I’ve been in some really hard times recently but you can always make me laugh or smile even just a little bit. You’ve kept me going since I started watching you even in my darkest days. I might be completely wrong, I personally think servers that have paid options / payed buffs… should be able to do so. You have been a greta influence in my life and are an overall amazing person. Appreciate the transparency but I'm not sure if I'd say you owed it to the audience. This is a concept that has existed for decade(s) and usually the main focal reason as to how MMOs and other similarly designed games maintain their servers. People shouldn't feel in a position of bargain if they decided to hack and deliberately attack a server.
This is what I think went down.. so the server economy was crashed by duping then SSundee got called out then the server got a huge rollback and a update.. then it went online again

cosmetics: anything that looks really cool, particle based wings are popular, skins for weapons. Make sure that it is not obstructive in pvp though. (make it toggle-able in settings for those with lower end PCs that can't handle it or think that it gets in the way of gameplay.)

exclusive shop to donors
weapons/armor that you can't get otherwise (extends to weapons/armor that take hundreds of hours to obtain, meet in the middle at like an 8hr shortcut).
multiplier vouchers that are impossible to obtain without being obtainable elsewhere. These being preferably in PVE zones, nobody wants to be oppressed by someone who has a time advantage due to donating and then being unable to receive those same benefits.

A good suggestion for the server is 2 things: Sell time, have everything accessible both in the store and in game to collect, like if something would take a hour to get a stack, sell a stack of that item for $15. Something would only take a few minutes then sell if for less. Also a good idea would be to sell non game affecting things, such as emotes, and skins, and capes. Perhaps sell inventory space, or vaults. Things that are benefits to the user but will not affect other players negatively. Maybe allow players to pay for specific, non benefit ranks, like something that does not give them more power on the server but allows them to define themselves in a fun way.
I stopped watching Ssundee about 3 years ago, and seeing the scandal which came from this was incredibly disappointing. However, this is a massive turnaround and a monumental improvement. Proud to see a childhood RUclipsr do the right thing(which is kinda sad that it’s so unique)

Ive watched ssundee since his first prison gameplay and FTB with Lancy.
I became a mod on one of his prison servers because I was such a huge fan, then he started playing fortnite and amogus and pivoted towards more child friendly content right when I was becoming an adult. It just didn't interest me anymore.
This video is such a blast from the past and I remember seeing some things about the server having issues with its monetization. Im glad that even if Ssundee changes his content to appeal to more people. He is still the ssundee I loved and still love from way back when.

As a previous staff member, I'm glad they took the approach they did. Appreciate the transparency but I'm not sure if I'd say you owed it to the audience. This is a concept that has existed for decade(s) and usually the main focal reason as to how MMOs and other similarly designed games maintain their servers. People shouldn't feel in a position of bargain if they decided to hack and deliberately attack a server.
