I'm glad you guys are liking this so much already, Denji is such a breath of fresh air I feel like there's not too many characters like him. And seeing you guys recognise that the unusual ways he acts / things he wants come from his messed up childhood are great too, I've been seing a lot of people not pick up on this and dislike Denji because of it.
same, lots of people just see his character as a dumb and horny teen, but they fail to read into how it's because he has had and awful childhood and hasn't interacted with the outside world or with good people in his life and has had to learn everything from the people he had met (the Yakuza and black market users) which isn't the best for a 16 year old, never mind a child's mental state in development

So one clarification when Denji says hug. In Japanese it's a bit of a double meaning. "Dakitai" can be taken as hug but can also mean to sleep with/have sex in the same way we use..well "sleep with" as a literal meaning of falling asleep with someone vs having sex. So when he's saying he wants to "hug" a woman hes saying it in the same way youd say "I want to get laid". But to Denji he doesn't really fully understand what the word means besides the straightforward meaning of hug (like a Daki-makura/Hug-Pillow). So to Denji he did "hug" her but when he says out loud "I want to hug her again" to Aki it sounds like he said "I want to have sex with her again".
Devils can exist from anything a human fears, so there are some pretty goofy ones cause any random Tom could be afraid of Sea Cucumbers for example lol. But on the flip side, I'm sure you can see how OP some can be let alone concepts we fear.
Extra info if you noticed well in the first episode. The chainsaws literally split his hands into 2 pieces when they come out of his arms and he loses blood. Thats why he was passing out.
I’ll try to keep up with differences. But episode one is JUST the first chapter. And episode two is through chapter 5 page 10. The did remove a scene in either chapter ?two or three? Denji doesn’t just pass out in the diner. He’s actually told to go KO a devil before he can eat and he passes out due to blood loss cause of how his chainsaws work. And a minor detail but in the manga. He sits on the other side of the table. AKA the scene where he is in her lap and sit right beside her didn’t happen. But the whole feeding and stuff did happen.
Fun fact power is based off of Eric cartmen from South Park and the original design for denji was supposed to be black hair but they changed it because they wanted him to stand out a little
I have a feeling Miss Makima is a fiend also. I'll have to wait until we see more female but she has similar eyes to Power while non of the males have had those eyes yet.

They cut it out but he fought a muscle devil during the rest stop scene it was a short fight so he was even more low on blood
