I wish all maps had bushes and that bushes doubled the rate at which you exit combat for the purpose of passive healing. This would make veteran viable as is
A lot of people don't understand that if you are against a Ying with the Lifelike legendary card, then it is easier to have just one or two allies get Bulldozer level 1 instead of having your entire team get Cauterize 3. Bulldozer is incredibly underused despite being very powerful against Ying and Barik. However its effectiveness is often limited in a way that only certain characters are good with it. Bulldozer is most effective when used by Grohk, Viktor, and Barik. Anyone can use it, but they have to get a clear shot against a deployable for it to be effective. Viktor usually shoots from high ground, so it is great for him. Grohk and Barik are often going to very close to enemy deployables at all times, so they are also great with the item. If there are two or more enemy champions with deployables, then a Drogoz can buy Bulldozer and use his Salvo as a very effective carpet bombing strategy.
A lot of people don't understand that cauterize is almost alwyas usefull (even if often something else would get better yields) coz many character have alternative viable forms of healing with cards or items and cauterize works on them too. Getting buldoze for just ying is stupid, because you don't alwyas have a way to shoot at the illusions, they got long healing range and can be easily hidden if ying isn't completly stupid. Also Ying heals with her ult and cauterize works on that too. You can't destroy the healing thingies with bulldozer.
Bulldozer is OP and people don't pick it up. I also think that Rejuvenate is under rated, and teams with multiple tanks and healers should think wisely and choose rejuvenate over the other healing cards. K2H and Life Rip require an aggressive damage output, so as your HPs increase and your DMG decreases, it becomes harder to apply the damage needed to heal and sustain your health pool in a firefight. You can only rip so much life from a 2000 hp champion, and 300-900 health is a drop of blood in Fernando's health pool. In fact, if Nanders had tier 3 Kill2Heal and 500 health, killing all 5 of your opponents wouldn't fully heal him. Veteran isn't as effective because you can't heal and output damage to apply the pressure needed to kill or scare away opponents. Rejuvenate is especially effective in a team of multiple tanks or healers. It provides enough sustain for the tanks and healers to cycle their shields and juggle their heals in order to apply pressure on the point and stay alive long enough to cap the objective. While cauterize may negatively effect a large percentage of the healing, It also has the requirement that it must be applied. Cauterize can be negated with shields or just not gettin' hit ya dingus. Therefor, the initial healing of two or three champins and the constant supply of a passive healing buff in combination with negating damage by juggling shields, is the most superior way to combat cauterize and also keep tanks alive long enough to capture the objective and sustain the momentum of the payload.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean that literally *your entire team* needs to get Cauterize. It costs one person 300 credits to get Bulldozer 1. It costs your entire team 1800 credits each to get Cauterize 3.
Bulldozer is only 150 credits so you can get both it and Caut at the start. I buy caut 99% of the time as every character has some sort of self sustain or innate healing ability. Never thought about it against ying though
The One Yee man, with lvl 2 Haven, lvl 3 aggression isn't worth. And what team isn't going to buy Haven against a good kinessa? The credits are better used on morale boost maybe or even cauterize
I love how at 10:25 your Makoa gets knocked of the edge and you tried to drag him down with you with Makoas chain, you nearly got him man, I'm gonna remember to try that one :)
Veteran is great on tanks that have shields since it gives enough time for self regen to kick in and that guarantees that you get to more healthy state once you reengage the enemy. Life rip is great for champions that do a lot of damage and/or don't get much kills but do a lot of damage either way. Kill to heal is great for flankers as you said, especially on skye who has the elemination cooldown reduction legendary.
A general tip is when you are playing anything other than support pick aggresive items, when play as a support pick supportive items. Damage reductions is mostly just for countering spesific champions.
Explaining some interaction of these items with skills could be also needed. Like does reju can be applied to yourself if you're ying or grohk. Does cauterize stack (well it's in patch note, but no explanation). Does cauterize with other skills that reduce healing stacks (it did stack, dunno now). Trivial tips like that might be important for newer players
love seeing this info get out to the community! 2 important things you overlooked though, 1) kinessa mines aren't reduced by resilience since resilience only reduces CC duration, not intensity, and her mines have no duration to reduce. 2) you forgot to mention that pip's polymorph can only be reduced to a 2 second duration (50% decrease) and every other CC effect can only be reduced down to a .5 second duration. this means that tier 3 resilience does literally nothing against certain CC effects, since tier 2 will reduce them to their hard cap minimum. also, the one exception to the rule I mentioned about not reducing intensity is knockback. resilience 3 makes jolt poppy bomb and hyperbeam feel like a gentle nudge, so it's good if you're tired of getting thrown off the map by BK and torvald. might want to annotate that section of the video, or pin this comment so people can see this info too.
You are a saint Joshino. Just thank you for all the helpful content you create and thank you for always keeping us in the loop with a game we love so much! Overwatch doesn't have this and your content shows how much more complex PAladins is.
Fun fact: BK Sticky and Poppy Bombs are treated as deployables. And I enjoy Deft Hands on Maoka. The reload time is reduced to almost .25 seconds, which looks really funny. Use this with Plushy Maoka.
I think that the style of the player matters a lot, just like when people get ready decks from guides. What you want to do or feel like will be best to go with according to the situation is very important.
So finally i can learn some things that i really need to know ppl always rage if i use auto and still do 😒 now i think its going to get over! (VVT) Thanks!
Joshino. Can you pls do a series for beginners which explains every aspect of the game. Eg: the currencies and the best way to use them or how to move about during the game and things like that. Many people like me are beginners and we would love some "Pro" advice. Thanks for reading this, and I hope u will consider this. Have a nice day
You forgot Kinessa's mines for the Bulldozer section. You also forgot to mention how to buy items. I find newer players don't know how to press "i" :P Haha great video!
Thanks Joshino, you really helped me out. Even though I'm level 62, I still didn't get the items fully before I watched this video. Keep making the good bids man! ;D
A good guide, but you should point out that defense items heaven and blast shields have no effect on shields, so picking them up as lets say Fernando and hoping you will get reduced damage when using your shield won't work.
Rejuvenate is good in my opinion, think about it In ranked say some of your enemies have caut 2, meaning you are getting 40% of heals. Max Rejuvenate which is way cheaper would make this 70%. That's pretty good!
You forgot to mention resillience can reduce up max only to 0,5s. And its for pip's ult 2s Also doesnt work for kinessa mines, makoa hook, and Inara depployable slow. (not sure if i missed something)
Veteran is actually pretty good on Fernando when his shield is up. As long as you're not taking health damage, you will be considered out of combat after a couple seconds. Would probably work better if there wasn't the bug where things can occasionally poke through it, but oh well.
Im gonna have to disagree on the nimble bit a little. In my opinion, nimble also works well on Kinessa and to a lesser extent on Ying. The main reason as to why is that Kinessa can run away from flankers better, which is often needed in casual, and Ying can run around more to heal more people. I have some decent success with Nimble on Ying, and the same goes for Nimble on Kinessa. Though the ladder should not be a main pickup but more an anti-flank pickup
Thankyou for informing me on how I should choose others beside Deft Hands on the aggresive category. Now I'll feel selfish whenever I use deft hands lol
Only thing I disagree with here is: aside from wrecker, you get more benefit from filling out your items than from just upgrading one or two. Each tier of items give you the same bonus but increase in price, so as long as the cards are useful in the current matchup, it's best to fill out the lower tiers first.
Androxus is the only champion in the entire game Id take deft hands on, wrecker and cauterize don't make sense for him and he hugely benefits from deft hands, for every other champion just decide situationally if wrecker or cauterize makes more sense for that specific game.
Good video, just one point. The stats increase linearly, not exponentially. So buying one item is only better if that item has a higher priority. Basically, the level 1 of items gets you the most stats/credits. Just saying.....
I usually Buy Heal to Kill first, when playing Maeve, as i dont have a Problem killing Enemies within seconds, sometimes even doing 1v3´s if i am fast enough
that booster novement for meeh... LOL, you can eveb easily escape from champ who has limited mobility just by strolling around... Besides, sometimes not knocking back the enemy with fire spit has it's own benefit
Question: For Pip, does life rip stack with acumen? As in: If i have lvl 2 life rip and the tier 3 acumen card, will I receive 50% life steal or does acumen override life rip for the duration of the slow?
it will get its own Heal, check KamiVS for all Life Rip or Cauterize stuff... and just a little explenation. Acumen can get affected by caut, that means if Enemies got Caut 1 then your Lifesteal will be reduced by 30% from your 40%... so it will only lifesteal for 40/30% (IDK HOW TO MATH) but your life rip wont get affected by Caut, so lets say you got liferip 1, that means you will be getting 10% dmg you done even when Enemies have Caut
Well only self polish meaning you can only customize the champions and the weapon skins sometimes they are just different colors or different skins like the Dread Hunter RL Alien arm
Problem with Kill to Heal is if you buy it during the beginning of the match, you don't know how badly your team might suck yet, and the game won't let you switch items.
I feel like language is very important, especially in a guide. To say that the numbers increase "exponentially" is a mistake; they rise linearly, in simple multiples-not to any powers or rising efficiency. Saying, "...15%, 30% [and/or] 45% _at each level_" sounds quite ambiguous (with no mention to how item levels work); I would have said "respectively." Also, keep in mind, F2P games are still rapidly drawing in players from yet-developing countries, most of which are not natively English-speaking.
might come as a shock to people but not everyone has the hand eye coordination to be good at this game ( or fps in general )and this affects low mmr matches more than everything else
You said that Rejuvinate will counter the first level of Cauterize, which is not entirely true. 1= base healing, 0,7 = Cauterize lvl 1 and 1,3 = Rejuvenate lvl 3. 1 * 0,7 * 1,3 = 0,91, so the end result is still 9% lower than base healing.
The Spanish translation in the Xbox version is so bad xD I used to never buy chronos in most of my champions because it says that only reduce the cooldown in barricades
That is probably the worst thing you can do. Torvald deals 50 per 0.1s with rank 3 life rip only giving you 15 health per 0.1 for the hefty price of 1800 credits. You would do better maxing other burn cards. If you honestly need 150 health per second of attacking, either the enemy team is dealing too much damage for you to solo soak it anyway, or change your loadout
It's a shame that Paladins game RUclips channel doesn't have all these already. They should've been up since forever in my opinion. Maybe the fudging noobs would've itemized properly more frequently.
There really, really needs to be a tutorial about these items. There needs to be more tutorials in general that should all be mandatory for competitive mode. Rip aggression lol
The wording is pretty clear on it, but I just want to verify... Rejuvenate does or does not increase healing received from yourself? :x Highly doubtful that it does, but heck, that'd be pretty dang nice if it did.
Wait! just a little clarification for Veteran, does it only affect the healing that occurs when you take a rest while out of combat? OR does it affect any type of healing just as long as you're away from combat? Like if Maeve is equipped with the Prowl healing, would it give more heals if activated out of combat?

Inara - Direct main weapon, warders field is Area (not 100% sure)
Tyra - Direct main and ulti - Nade Launcher Area (Think fire bomb is pure damage AKA not effected by either could be wrong :O)
Resilience for new champions that are missing:
Maeve - none.
Torvald - Ultimate Hyperbeam knockback and duration of runic blast.
Inara - Slow in warders field.
Tyra - none.
I think you should have said rejuvenate is a good pick up on tanks. And if you have a decent healer.
Hugo Costa you meant rejuvenate...
+VicThePip - Paladins Stuff yes my bad
So, Resilience doesn't include Fernando's flamethrower, Tyra's molotov, or Mal'Damba flask? is there any way to counteract these Burn damages?
Joshino I dont want to offend you at all but...
You forgot Aggression
Holy shit, I missed like half of what you said. Your Drogoz game is so fuckin raw I was completely mesmerized.
Paladins is a copy of Pong because it is on a computer
ye
Pong is a blatant ripoff of tennis.
computers where a rip of off ink jars , ink jars been on desks years before computers were.
The phrase rip off is obviously a rip off of paper.
Paper was ripped long before that phrase existed
This comment section is amazing
That makoa hook though. It came from the 7th dimension
I wish all maps had bushes and that bushes doubled the rate at which you exit combat for the purpose of passive healing. This would make veteran viable as is
Geoffrey Perrin veteran is only viable when you are a frontline without a support
Jonas that's why i'd like to see a method of exiting combat faster. It's the only reason the scenario you gave is the only current viable time
@@iQuack I highly disagree.

A good guide, but you should point out that defense items heaven and blast shields have no effect on shields, so picking them up as lets say Fernando and hoping you will get reduced damage when using your shield won't work.
awesome guide i knew most of this information but its nice to here it's accurate :) like nimble on inara flank , torvald flank, or tyra
Rejuvenate is good in my opinion, think about it
In ranked say some of your enemies have caut 2, meaning you are getting 40% of heals.
Max Rejuvenate which is way cheaper would make this 70%.
That's pretty good!
Kinessa and Evie's slows are not actually affected by resilience, as their slow abilities are not on a timer, therefore they can't be reduced by it.
You forgot to mention resillience can reduce up max only to 0,5s. And its for pip's ult 2s
Also doesnt work for kinessa mines, makoa hook, and Inara depployable slow. (not sure if i missed something)
Very good guide Joshino, would recommend any new player to watch it!
when u see someone from discord on yt

Now I'll feel selfish whenever I use deft hands lol
JanChrstn Uy when youre playing buck it really helps
Kill to heal is amazing for flankers. They have low HP so a 900 heal can be quite strong.
Veteran can be good for Fernando. If his shield is being damaged and not you, it starts the out of combat timer.
Dude, your voice is actually brilliant!!!
That drogoz gameplay was sick
Only thing I disagree with here is: aside from wrecker, you get more benefit from filling out your items than from just upgrading one or two. I don't think you know what exponentially means...
I already know about the items in detail...hence came to see your awesome drogoz gameplay
Items i usually buy is Caut,Life Rip,Moral Boost and Heaven
Good video, just one point. The stats increase linearly, not exponentially. So buying one item is only better if that item has a higher priority. Basically, the level 1 of items gets you the most stats/credits. Just saying.....
It would have been sooo helpful to shown the cards as we were hearing about them... Still great classroom my man!$$!

Oh I was playing with autopurchase on all the time xD
I usually Buy Heal to Kill first, when playing Maeve, as i dont have a Problem killing Enemies within seconds, sometimes even doing 1v3´s if i am fast enough
Marwyn die Palad0se Its Kill to Heal btw and I use Kill to Heal too on Evie because of her low health
Joshino what's your favourite legendary on Drogoz? I can't decide between the movement speed or 50% extra projectile damage
Projectile damage pays off so much for that rocket arena aim training.
i go with fire spit knockback lol cant get used to playing drogoz without it
that booster novement for meeh...
Would awesome to also see you get the Dread Hunter's voice pack and weapon for better gameplay and polish.
Well only self polish meaning you can only customize the champions and the weapon skins sometimes they are just different colors or different skins like the Dread Hunter RL Alien arm
WTB crystals. :P
I could only half focus I kept getting distracted by how good you are my brain was going:
:0
Didnt hear a thing bcoz the gameplay was so good !!!
This ultimate guide basically told us to figure it out for ourselves.
Very helpful, thank you !
I was about to make one of these, dang you Joshino and your constant videos xD
*Thinks of aggression*
Got tears in mai eyes
Thanks, i finally understand cauterize now
HiRez should have this video on the Paladins menu
u need to be paid by hi rez monthly for your work ! U are so good
might come as a shock to people but not everyone has the hand eye coordination to be good at this game ( or fps in general )and this affects low mmr matches more than everything else
i always thaught that there will be another champion with invisible ablity, so illuminate can be use more often
first for ying chronos is not good you should buy morale boost on her.Second nimble stack with the cards from your loadout from ob42
moonz ying with chronos 1 isnt good, but with chronos 3 she is decent. morale ying isnt bad at all
FUN FACT:If u get Rejuvenate on Ying her Illusions DO count as other players so it does count
You said that Rejuvinate will counter the first level of Cauterize, which is not entirely true. 1= base healing, 0,7 = Cauterize lvl 1 and 1,3 = Rejuvenate lvl 3. 1 * 0,7 * 1,3 = 0,91, so the end result is still 9% lower than base healing.
this video is very helpful! thanks!
You were a bit wrong. The stats from items doesn't increase exponentially, it grows linearly
Surpuppa So how much stat are you getting from the item then?
Does cauterize effect Life Rip and Kill to heal?
Nice vid bro, Thanks.
The Spanish translation in the Xbox version is so bad xD I used to never buy chronos in most of my champions because it says that only reduce the cooldown in barricades
How is that surprise Planetside 2 video going?
I also like to run life rip with champions with beam weapons ( torvald and grohk )
Raymond Peterson maybe get Rejuv on torvald
Thank you
It's a shame that Paladins game RUclips channel doesn't have all these already. They should've been up since forever in my opinion. Maybe the fudging noobs would've itemized properly more frequently.
question: does the one that makes heals more powerful make it so if you are playing ying you get better heals from your own illusions
Wish you would have shown the charts more.
Thanks man a lot! Know i know how to use it 👌
There really, really needs to be a tutorial about these items. There needs to be more tutorials in general that should all be mandatory for competitive mode.
Rip aggression lol
Deft hands on tyra/buck/mal damba is good
Makoa is good with deft hands as well
No
Thx this really helped
:D
"Fernando's rectangle"
The wording is pretty clear on it, but I just want to verify... Rejuvenate does or does not increase healing received from yourself? :x Highly doubtful that it does, but heck, that'd be pretty dang nice if it did.
Toolbox Motley it doesnt, and Yes I know this because I used to be playing Ying with rejuv and I'm solo healing... don't blame me
resilience doesn't affect kinessa mines that's for sure.
maybe a bit late but does rejuvenate effect heals on yourself like yings clone or dambas healing goo?
So having dragon with 65% movement speed with nimble makes nimble useless? Or does it still stack to 95% at level 3?
Sorry but it's useless :/
its double useless actually, cause it doesnt stack AND nimble increase normal speed not flight speed
Deft hands is good for androxus.
thanks bro!!!
Does cauterize stack with heal reducing abilities like fernando fireball or cassie ability?
I like this dude
get to the objective Makoa Joshino, dammit!!
LOL
Love these vids
Wait! just a little clarification for Veteran, does it only affect the healing that occurs when you take a rest while out of combat?
OR does it affect any type of healing just as long as you're away from combat?
Like if Maeve is equipped with the Prowl healing, would it give more heals if activated out of combat?
Marco Rio No ability will increase healing with veteran, Veteran only affect Out-Of-Combat Heal
Question is it smart to finish building one item first before buy another, or buy one in every category first and upgrading one you feel you need?
Amariths1 depends, Green Card mostly should be bought the last. but it depends on each champions
