Not gonna lie, 2:15 is my favorite because during the move, Ryu was just about to give in to the Satsui no Hado but he was able to stop it from doing so, proving how strong he has become at that point.
Man, Street Fighter 4 made you hear and feel just how brutal it would be to get struck by a combo of nasty uppercuts by Ryu. I would hate to be in Fei Long's place there. Yeesh.
its nice but i think its different, its Metsu Shoryuken. in the same game, Gouken has the shin shoryuken. i googled it once, and i think Metsu was the dark side one, the no Satsu No Hado one or whatever its called
@@asdfoio yeah it's Metsu Shoryuken. If you look closely with Metsu Shoryuken, he uses his left hand first then finishes the uppercut with his right hand but with Shin Shoryuken he uses his right first then finishes with the left.

I like how the new SF6 brings Ryu's knee into the attack...his Shouryuken has always had a raised knee part to the animation and in SF6 you see him use the knee for the Shin Shouryuken as he jumps up. Though I do agree SF4 does have one of the more brutal impacts out of them all.
Shin Shoryu Ken is THE satisfying move to hit opponents with. Couldn't tell you how many times I enjoyed hitting Akuma and Gill with the move in 3rd Strike! 😎
2:14 My favorite version. The Street Fighter 4 version is more badass and brutal but the Marvel vs Capcom Infinte shows Ryu's character development and personality much better. You can see Ryu being tempted to use the Satsui No Hado but he fights the temptation and successfully overcomes it, demonstrating that when he instead uses the Power of Nothingness. The best scenes can tell a story without the need for words. Congratulations MvCI You did something great 👏👏👏
Yeahh but this aint a scene, its a special move lol. You are right that the best scenes can tell a story, but was that really the time to do it? Maybe in the context of the game, but it seems over the top (not in a good way) on its own
I remember when I was playing snk vs capcom, I was playing a dude who had me on critical with just ryu left meanwhile he had a almost full bar. I powered up my snk bar then caught him rolling I landed the shin shoryuken 3 level taking three quarters of his life finishing him. Satisfying victory.
It used to be so lame, Shinryuken summons a spinning dragon, meawhile Ryu just punches 3 times. Street fighter took those shots and added Thor’s hammer with every strike because goddamn that was brutal
@@joseurbina3835 nah with Metsu Shoryuken, he uses his left hand first then finishes the uppercut with his right hand but with Shin Shoryuken he uses his right first then finishes with the left.
@@Lolololololololololo123 Well can you tell the Difference of Link being Left Handed or Right Handed when he is holding the Master Sword, does that make it that all the Links from other Zelda Games are different Characters, No because they are all the same Character, So that's basically how the Metsu and Shin Shoryukens are, they are the exact same Super Move.
I think everyone can pretty unanimously agree on the worst shinshoryu. Which is oddly enough one of the earliest versions, in the Alpha series. Just kinda lacks impact and had that weird elbow strike instead of the iconic double uppercut we're used to.
No videos like this ever mentions of the fighting street (original street fighter). They always starts with street fighter 2. So far u havent seen any videos shows fighting street gameplay.
My personal favorite is still the OG SFIII version. It's simple, straightforward, boring, basic, but above all else, _perfect,_ the epitome of what Ryu embodies.
I wouldn’t say perfect embodies Ryu, after all he is constantly still striving for higher strength. If anything, Akuma embodies perfect more, he believes and probably has ascended humanity, and soon, the gods.
Not gon lie..when I was younger and played SF2 Turbo in the arcades when it first came out. I legit thought Ryu was saying "no mutants" when he did this move. For quite a long time 😜
Call me crazy, but I feel like the more cinematic angles of the modern games kind of make the Shin Shoryuken hit less hard for me. I love how quick and meaty New Generation's Shin Shoryu was and it makes it feel more impactful.
Why are there 2 variants in sfa3, first 3 hits and barely do any damage and the 2nd is 4 hits and does more dmg. I remember when I used to play sfa3 that I almost never used shin shoryuken because it made so little dmg, like in the first variant... So what's up with that? Did you have to mash it for the extra hit? Or it's another version of alpha 3?
Not sure if someone answered you elsewhere in the comments (I looked for a bit but nothing stuck out); my understanding is it had to do with what active frame the elbow strike hit to activate the rest of it. (Read it from an official guide I bought way back when.) The closer you were to the opponent when you activated it (and therefore the fewer active frames it ran), the weaker the full Super would be. If the elbow strike landed on the last frame or at the very edge of the last hit box, then the full damage version would be the result. It was like a risk/reward thing. Do you go for higher damage and risk it whiffing or getting blocked, or do you activate it up close where it can hit but not do as much damage? There may be contradictory info elsewhere on the Net. Not sure.
