From what I've observed, when a civilian displays mental health issues, they see that as an opportunity to abuse their authority instead of getting a mental health representative to deescalate the situation. Instead the cops escalate.

I don’t like cops but this is a terrible take from both a legal perspective and a morale one is any kid is reading. The cop went over there to tell the guy calmly to leave and the dude same make me. When someone stands up, takes off their glasses and walks towards you (which the cop did), that means we are past the talking stage and the intent is to take action. This officer escalated the situation (instead of de-escalating) and lost all three rounds. He f'd around and found out.

If true, that would constitute the officer threatening him since - as of that moment - the individual had committed no crime. If he had committed no crime, any attempt for physical contact by the officer is being done outside of his legal protections as an officer.
Regardless of who made the first movement to make physical contact once they’re face-to-face, it would be fair to argue that the officer agreed to mutual combat and lost x3. You could even argue that the moment the officer started walking out to say it to his face counts as the initiation of an attempt to make physical contact (again, with someone who as of that moment had committed no crime)

As a former Criminal Justice student I can tell you that US Police are trained to be this way.

I saw the cop consent to violence both verbally and by his actions. When he revoked consent, the kid let him go. When the cop escalated to attempted murder, the kid stopped the cop from shooting him. Not only should all charges be dropped, the cop needs to be charged. Once he pulled a gun he became the criminal.
i would say that is maybe an indicator of psychosis because you'd literally have to be hallucinating to believe the cop ever challenged him to any sort of fight, but you're a soverign citizen anyways so it makes sense.

It all depends on the department heads. It has to do with the training they are being given, and the examples being set by the higher ups. In my home town, each officer is incredibly honorable, respectful, and brave. It's sad to see how these departments have lost their way.

The only idiot that I saw in the video was the cop ! He actually challenged someone having a mental health crisis instead of helping, you know like that lie they have on the side of their cars. This cop made fun of him and challenged him and he should be fired ! You can’t be working with the public when you are that angry and have that many problems controlling your feelings. The next time that cop harasses someone who is having a mental health crisis and or terrorizes them and gets his ass handed to him and he looses control over the situation again he may not get someone who lets him walk away.
