- This whole job was done in one day. Using a spray booth we were able to bake the clearcoat on the final job and it was cured.
The primer and paint can be done using Acrylic products which is suitable for a garage or backyard.
90% of the panel beaters in eastern Australia are of middle eastern decent. This one articulates English better than 95% of them. Thanks for the demo!
He graduated from the 5 minute bondo school of body work and now you can too. Just visit our nearest campus at the auto department of your local K-Mart store. Read the instructions on the back of a bondo can. Now you are graduate and a professional body man. Go out and make the profession proud.
ha ha you are funny,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
My friend who does body work for a living and says to take the paint down to the metal when applying body filler.
I think somepeople miss to read the title of the video, this is show if you want to do the repair yourself, this is haw got here trying to find a way to do it my self if you have the money or are a proffesional you shouldn't be watching this, this is for those of us who dont have the $300 + to take to a bodyshop..
duuuuuuuuhhhhhhh!!!!!
Thanks for that one second finish look.
he used a gallon of bondo on few scratches.
lmfao looooooool
I like how he tapes off after he sands it down instead of doing it at the beginning like he should have.
Why would you tape before sanding?
first you should unbolt the fender from bumper second you should have used a dolly and hammer to remove the low spots in the fender and the the biggest problem was the gap between the fender and bumper were the metal wasn't even close and he just stopped filler in the gap I'm sorry I would have fired you on the spot and yes I'm a body man and custom painter for 30 years and I have fixed a couple of fenders
Completely agreed my father was an autobody repairer for 30 years as well that guy never prepped anything right you want to straighten the panel and use as little filler as possible
The finished product looked pretty damn good though. If you're a professional of 30 years why are you looking at a how-to video on RUclips?
WTF. Small scratch become worst than ever. couldn't believe
Nice and fast repair! Don't waste time fixing .All these new cars are a pain in the ass to protect the front and rear ends( no bumpers).Good enough!
Maybe mask off those areas before you go nuts with the sand paper? Oh, and thanks for f**king up my wheels too...mate.
Well that bumper is never coming of again 😂😂😂😂😂😂
He used a gallon of bondo on 3 tiny scratches. It did come out good at the end though
some customer is gonna kick his ass lol
2K products are often acrylic. That is to say they are Acrylic Urethane. That is NOT to say that acrylic is component 1 and urethane is component 2. Im not a chemist so i don't understand anything beyond what it says on the tin. Some people won't even look at what's written on the tin. Mega confusion in the automotive paints arena. Just like most places. lol
Very well explained and a terrific demonstration.....thank you!
(Being an Australian production helped!
He forgot to pulling the dent between guard and front bar cover that dent deep more than 5 mm.
Turn on CC for the best non sensical funny translation ever!
Follow your recommendation Hahahah so f funny
WTF LOL
I didn't know there was an Earl Sheib in Australia?
Excellent on the dent removal bro and job well done. Accent ruined it for me tho. Sounds like Australian mixed with Chinese or something. Was a good laugh but then that thanks for the tips. Thumbs up
Should you bog over paint and not just bare metal?
this is me after watching a DIY video on youtube.
braintrain5000
what's that mean? What iz your point?
There are many components to getting a good result. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Magic Painter Method (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible course that I've seen. look at this super resource.
great work
Remind me never to go to his shop for a repair.
He applied wax and grease remover... which was to clean off the contamination so there is no adhesion issues between the substrate and filler....
B w - and then he goes touching all over it without gloves, just AFTER using the remover. (facepalm)
A Baller that was "wax and grease' remover.
I just wanted to remind you to never go to this shop. They are hacks.

Nice Blue :-)...great workshop..savage sanding
I love how everyone who doesn't know shit about body work it like "Wow what a shit job". FYI people whenever you buy a brand new car, its been sanded down before and buffed...
Looks good
What !!??, Those dents could have EASILY been dollied out with an experienced body man's talent...steel file the metal and use very little or NO filler...I do it all the time...this is not the way this should have been repaired.
Well done. Good job,
this is a minor dent But This man destoriyed The whole car 😂😂😂
Sorry one of the first things I was taught was to never never never sand inside a paint booth.
You dont need lessons for that...
Depends on the type of paint booth. Floor filter booths are fine for sanding inside of them. Which is what he has.
Its not as bad as the comment says though if you watch the very end od the video the audi looked as new
When a Kangaroo hunter get a hold of your Audi keys, you get this.I would get the scratched on the left off easy with wetsanding,buffing/compounding & polishing, then let the detailer handle the other side with PDR dent removal sytem that requires no panting.
150 grit wow,220 would be fine enough.
Surely the sound could have been edited, to reduce those terrible surges of backgound noise between his statements?
These comments are so funny. Been to plenty of shops and have seen all kinds of ways of doing things and i will tell you the majority of people would not have dropped that bumper and still got a great job and yes i was thinking that the spreader was too large also. But every body is giving there opinion cracks me up because your way is not the only right way to do things. But I guess that is human nature to think your way is the right way.
The hilarious thing is if they think they have a better way, then they must be experts, yet they're still looking up "how to fix a dent" videos on RUclips 😂😂😂
Ive seen backyard jobs that are far more professional than this. Ill just list the good things about this video.
- The shop is clean
thats because no body ever goes there for repairs lol
these guys are hacks
Haaaaahhahahahahahaha
dude really WAX AND GREASE REMOVED... THEN TOUCHED THE CAR... HELLOO LMAO
Need subtitles, but good video, thanks ⛄
I'd sack him just for spreading the filler like that lol
DO NOT use this as a guide, Excessive podge, Dent should of been tapped or pulled out then lightly filled. Areas around the repair prior to the repair should of been protected, It is normal practice to clean the area for repair first, During and after.. To ensure there is no dirt girt or muck on the surface so your not sanding it into the area .... FFS cover the headlights and wheels prior to undertaking any work. Better still remove them.....Don't get me started on the rest
is it illegal in AuS to pull out the dent ? .. thats aloooot of filler there man
My god.. It always hurts me to see people from so called "professional bodyshops" at work. The way they repair stuff is horrible..
Me being from holland, one of the leading countrys in bodywork, work in a completely different way. I work with topnotch materials, clean working space and actually proffessional staff that know how to repair cars. I always keep in mind that i pretent the car im working on is mine and i want the best for it.
What would you have done differently
very good job
you know even the big bump or a deep scratch on car.. from a vary smalll accident.. it all can be resolved in few hours and couple of dollars... but to take to a auto shop. its thousand of dollar s
Did he leave the sandpaper om the windshield???
All good 👌👍.
what language was that? for some reason my closed caption says he was speaking english
There are no more good body man out there, good thing I'm getting train but a guy that has been doing body work for over 40 years
He didn't even take off the bump or even dropped it, he also didn't take of the light, and he also didn't even try to pull out the dents
hey man I think you are pretty dissaster!!! XD XD XD
Poor Audi. This is totally unfair for a small ignorable scratch and fault.
This guy did quick common lo standard easy less efforts job and destroyed the originality and quality of a beauty. So cheap.
yard car
Great job. Is that a Pajarito Japanese spring steel spatula from Germany? I can't buy these in Ireland and can't find them on the net.
good
My bumper has multiple deep scratches and near it is the left fender which is chipped you can see the metal, The chip is not that big/wide.
Problem is to fix it the guy needs to repaint the whole bumper & the whole fender.
I asked him can't you just repaint the damage area only or Half of it, He says then the end result will look weird/cloudy/white powdery. IS THIS TRUE ?
OR his trying to get my money? His Charging me $1000 to fix it in 1 week.
+Tony Tran could be true tho if its metalic paint .. then i would get it fully resprayed to .. if just a base tone .. no way its needed to paint it all .. it IS however needed to clear the whole bumper
Thank you sooo much ❤️❤️❤️
Thank the LORD for volume buttons.........
i don't want to say bad word but....
What the F**K he done....
Is that cloth back sand paper or did he literally just tear that perfectly?
this is just wrong what a joke you sir are lazy taking shortcuts instead of doing a quality job! it's a win win when you do a quality job! the customer loves it and you feel great
I don't get it. What did he do that was bad? The finished product looks pretty damn good.
oh no, just start crying when you started using that sandpaper :'(
Needs more bog.
what is this paper board? pleaseeeeee help!
He should really have grinded off the paint before applying all that filler.
how not to repair a dent. to much hardener in the filler. spreader to big. remove or mask the headlights. drop the bumper and mask up. sand the dent with a orbital first down to bare metal. rub the filler down with 120's sand paper or 180's. the list goes on and on. bodge job.
The whole prep work looked like a botch job. Wax remover on, wax remover off followed by greasy hand wipes, Tape to protect the Bumper then a little later rip into the guard with rough the sandpaper just making a small job a bigger repaint job, then dumping a huge load filler also making a small fill and feather into a huge section of the guards. Plus do doubt the paint work had existing clear coat which leads to additional work.
I would not do this myself to fix it the correct why is to take the bumber off repaint and put it in the baking oven. lolol ha ha
sales people give horrible demonstrations, you need a good tech to do this
What is the tube that he put a line in the soft filler?
That's is hardner. You need a hardner for the body filler or the filler would never get hard.
All I could think about the whole time was pulling off that piece of dangling paper on the onion board
Omg.. At least separate the bumper cover where it meets the wing bottoms.. Always mask off the wheels first.. All that body filler dust is making its way into all the machanical areas.. Creating additional dust and dirt once you go into the paint stage..
Worse repair job ever
i don't understand him
How to spray the car in detail step by step if you allow
I have a cracked bumper can I use the filler for that
No wonder how much Mario charged the client or the insurance company for this job, after working his ass off by him self on thacKaaaaaa
What is the cost for the whole procedure
wtf mate,1kg of fuller :))
watching this hurts my eyes
Wtf?
There was not enough background noise in the video.
طريقة صبغ رائعة
Is this a tank with Audi logo?
To jest żart ?
lol thats how you make easy job complicated...
You haters watch both parts of the video, l'm sure you can't do a better job.
You misspelled can...
6 min in to the video I had to stop. The fans were just too loud. Trying to learn something and in turn I got a headache.
Horrible sound quality. Loud background noise and annoying music during talking. He demonstrates crude shortcuts used by shops to cut time, but make less than optimum quality. E.G. he uses 80 grit instead of 180 grit sandpaper to block the filler. Then he preps for primer with 240 instead of 320 grit.
He could at least cover the wheels !
fuk man i wish u guys were in Taiwan where i lives no one knows how to do this
vous poncez l aile et le pare_choc en meme temps et ensuite vous mettez un scotch pour protéger.
c est avant de poncer le pare_choc qui fallait le faire .
He struggled to put filler on lol 😂
Uninformative video! But its hard to hear you with the music and background noise!!
"ART OF CRAP" repair- RHS could get away with a filler but LHS is way too deep any std filler can take- they were designed to fill 2-3mm MAX!!! IF YOU ARE A FILLER CRAPPER you should be using fibre filler, then medium filler and fine finishing filler on the end. This shit job especially in this area- around the bumper, will crack or de-laminate over short period of time.
This should be done with a dent puller or hammer and dolly job.
What happened to 320 and 400
Ohhh, if that were my Audi, I'd be crying. Ugh. Why is he using that much filler?
Video is rubbish , method is poor full stop. Say what you like but the majority of people and professionals say the same thing. DIY or not there is a right way and a wrong way and this method is backstreet lash up simple
Didnt want to tape front bumper/cover?
Before sanding
could have used a bigger spreader
My god!!!!!!!! Thank you to try help people but you need help and training before touch another luxury car like this one.
mai ai de invatat taticu !!!!!
Wax on. Wax off. Lol
You missed the magical final step... Greasy hand on, twice. Then for good measure give it a couple more rubs with an oily hand.
