Client: I want to build a home that is like a museum of modern art, but colder and less welcoming.
    Architect/Designer: We got you.

I grew up near this house. Foxhall Road was always considered the most prestigious address in DC. It was lined with elegant mansions. At one point, Nelson Rockefeller had an estate deep into the woods with its entrance on Foxhall. (That land is now Foxhall Crescents.) In the 1940's, an old mansion was torn down to build the Cafritz house, a superb example of Art Moderne style created by Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz. It is now the Field School and they retained the house and added additions to match it. There was a magnificent home at the corner of Foxhall and W Streets that belonged to Duncan Phillips - of the Phillips Collection. That was torn down and the land is now the Phillips Park development. Across the street from the house shown here, there was another mansion that was torn down. David and Carmen Kreeger commissioned Phillip Johnson to create their home, which they always intended to become a museum after their deaths. (They were friends of mine. Dave was brilliant. He was the creator of GEICO, as well as a concert-level musician.) The ugly Spanish Embassy is next door and the beautiful Belgian Embassy after that. Foxhall is an amazing street, but less residential than it was. Originally, it was all mansions; now it's schools, embassies, and museums.

    The home is stunning.
I love how the landscape is as much a part of the home as the interior. It is so bright and clean that it is the first thing that comes to mind. The detail is outstanding. Blessed are those that call this home. Thank you for sharing and allowing me to dream.

This is a jaw-dropping gorgeous and balanced home. Probably the best I have seen in the area, but this is getting out of hand. Who is paying these people $31 million for Chinese limestone/custom work and that backyard that apparently took 3 years to design. $10,000,000 max. How are these banks financing these purchases? I've rented similar homes for 25k/mo while the owner has it listed for 60 trillion hoping someone needs to park their money....or crypto LOL. What a charade the US has become.

Don't like Bret Baier and not sad to see him leave the district, but it does look like he found some people with good taste when he built this home.

This is just so crazy to see these listing videos because it’s like of the thousands of views you might get probably none of them can afford this house. I mean who can buy this like I don’t know anyone even my rich friends. This is so far out of reach for them. It’s just so weird to see these houses and things for all these people that are so incredibly wealthy there just not even in the realm of normal society.

I hate when homes are built diagonal or off center to the street or lot... line it up.. I give the location, a 2 out of 10...( a 30M+ home shouldn't be on the curb) some of the amenities you definitely don't need (basketball court/theater) (not even sure ya need the pool) I would have put the garage on the lower level.. the garage wings are dumb... the lot is a decent size but the configuration is just wrong.. I can't stand when a house like this has just a patch of grass for a lawn... what.....I also think the architecture of the home should fit with the interiors.. it doesn't gel in my eyes.

There, is one lie I detected. The highest point in the city is in Tenleytown, this is Foxhall. Also, this house and most of the houses in Washington, D.C. are insanely over priced.
