Only Kieran can have nested breakdowns within breakdowns and still come out with that godly looking model. His growth as a painter is being tracked in real time on this channel. Meanwhile I would like to start a petition to disqualify Cow Mountain on grounds of not being a finished mini. I would accept some optional base dudes not being put on a model, but you can't just forget to give a guy his knees.
Breakdown inception, so meta… I think we might review the scores come the end, namely due to the size of Lion compared to what’s coming in HeroHammer 3, and potentially deduct points for no knees 😂😂
Compared into early in this channels history, it's so good to see K having a lot of fun painting these models, even if he stresses himself out during the challenge itself! Looking forward to hero hammer 3!
I’ve had Cow Mountain sat in his box for about 3 years now - the prospect of 7 hours worth of painting gold trim has always been the thing that has put me off. Yours ended up looking dope though, as did Tahlia- well done boys! Looking forward to HH3 now.
Woo, more challenges! Also, Kieran is 100% correct, the basing makes the blue lion look SO RIGHT, fantastic job in the end (even if a large helping of "Trust the process" was needed for you at the half-way point). Cow mountain looks great as expected, but again Kieran nailed it, just a little bit more gradient/contrast between the grey and white (by adding ivory) would have elevated it that little bit more. Great video, great paintjobs, can't wait to see what's next!
These are some stunning miniatures, gentlemen 😍 Like Kieran said, the arctic basing really tied the whole Lion miniature together. I love the white-blue scheme - it really does bring out the magical, fantastical element of the miniature out. Big Narnia vibes? And Cow Mountain is epic, too! So much trim! 😆 Well done on the endurance painting that, Kieran. I'm enamored by both. Well done!
I absolutely adore how the birdy lion boi turned out! That basing really pulled it all together. Cow Mountain trim was horrifying. Every update the trim was slowly advancing.
I really enjoy when you guys actually have fun with it, I'm glad Cow Mountain was a good time and that Tahlia really worked out in the end; can't wait to see #3!
This is my favorite non launch-box challenge I've seen you do! I think you bith did an excellent job painting these pieces. And the narrative of going from the lows of Tahlia and the brown base overcoming the adversity and culminating in an excellent final product!Although. . . I didn't necessarily mind the "Peacock" wings, I really think if you had the time to fully commit to that brighter blue, you could make a "Peacock Manticore really work. I think that painting more AoS would absolutely work for you guys! But for me, that Spirit of the Mountain takes the cake for me! The gold, the dark green, and that smooth, clean filigree. If it werent fir the missing onees I'd say its nearly perfect. (I'd still dock it a point for lack of knees, and another point for not being a Hero in terms of the rules, but that's just my opinion, and you saw my last comment😉)
I genuinely think the lions blue to white colors are one of my favorite parts of this challenge. The purple tassels look so good too! I almost wish the reds were also purple! But sincerely your mental breakdown saved you and it turned out so good
I really need to read Son of the Forest, The Lion sure has changed! They both look great! They're beautiful models already, but I really like how yours turned out. Loving that blue on the Lion, and that much trim is crazy but Cow Mountain looks so worth it... Also the way Kieran saved that base is INCREDIBLE
That blue looks really good on the manticore. I understand the concern of the colors used and how bright they are. The dark wash was a great step followed by the drybrush. The thing I would have done before the wash to give it more color variety on the manticore, would be to do the tale in a different color. My idea would be to blend it from that bright blue to a dark blue, to a very dark navy, and then the stinger would be a blue so dark to be black at the tip. That way the model has some differentiation in tones without counting the rider. Cow Mountain is a drop dead gorgeous model and paint scheme. I think this is my favorite of y'alls work on a technical and artistic level!
Two great models, personally not a fan of the cow mountain model as it gives me flashbacks of painting Thousand Sons. But that lion is great looking and that base knocks it out the park. Loved the panic in Ks voice 😂
How dare you paint the cow so well, now I want one even more than I already did. Also, are you going to paint the symbols on the banners and put the knee armor on?
It’s a mountain… and it’s a coooooow…. Woooooooooooo Thalia looks awesome. I have to say I prefer your single model challenges to army boxes…. How about some squad box challenges?
What’s ur guys advice on painting lots of detailed sisters infantry quick cos currently it takes me like 2 hours per sister ITS EXCRUCIATING!! Any advice is welcome.
Oh man hearing you both want realm lorda and EC now i wanna see you guys go head to head with armies. Each draft 1000 points of an army and then go head to head painting your own schemes. Then maybe take em to a doubles tournament or something idk. But it seems like a cool side by side of how you both approach the same army while not building 2 of the same army lists to completion
@@the_kieran_show I just binged watched all the combat patrol and hero hammer videos didn’t realise you mentioned the missing kneecaps til literally round 3 😅 excellent work guys keep it up

Couldn't agree more. Lets all bear that in mind for HH3.
I wonder how many times in this video Kieran says the words "cow mountain, WoOoOoO"
Not enough!
Never enough!

Paint Cow Mountain regardless of how long it takes. It's such a beautiful model, you'll love it.
Thanks so much mate! HH3 will be wild 😂
I genuinely like the blue manticore, I think it’s important to take risks and you nailed it in the end
Diamonds are made under pressure!
Absolute gem of a channel here boys. Great stuff!
Thanks so much!
The blue on the lion turned out most excellent! Cow mountain is also nice.
Thanks!! It was…. An experience 😂
Both turned out awesome! Great work guys!
Thank you so much!

Putting the heroic in joey_heroic. Thanks alot mate!
Nice to see that even experienced painters can completely forget that the pre-wash coats tell you almost nothing about the model's finished look.

Cow Mountain trim was horrifying. Every update the trim was slowly advancing.
Yeah it was a hot mess till the basing come together 🫠😂
Fantastic vid as always, love the meltdown and the redemption. Both models look so incredible. Keep it up!
We love the meltdowns 🥲🥲
@@the_kieran_show so do we :)
Loving it lads, seeing right Kierans existential crisis after the poopaste was wild
If there's no drama we don't want it 😂
I’ve decided that I will take a shot every time Kieran said “wOooOooo”.
Tell my wife I love her.
We'll all pray for you Matcha
I love the chimera's look. Also, for Kieran: COW MOUNTAIN WOOOOOOOO!
COOOOOW MOUNTAIN!!

I love the enthusiasm for cow mountain, but it should have been "Cow mountain, mooooo" 😂

I don’t think I could paint myself a hero that fast without going insane.
It took me about a week painting my Dunecrawler off and on
That's our secret Cap. We're already insane.
I absolutely love all of your content. Thank you, Kierans.

Good video, fun fact, i just bought a pot of that 'poo' based on this video haha, it's just what i need for my Death Guard.
Poo bases for all!
Came over from the Poorhammer video, glad to of found the channel. Models look epic!

Lunastra from monster hunter is a big blue cat, woulda been cool to go all the way to replicate that. Still looks great tho!

Combat Patrol Challenge 3! The Imperial Guard 😭😭
Honestly I like blue lion, my only suggestion might have been taking the scorpion tail more towards blue black shiny.

Making the mountains brighter would distract from the face imo. Unless you were to make the face pop more somehow.
