A comment on the "oddity" of the headlight that you mentioned at that stop light... The Z125 has some stator controller logic that keeps the battery from overcharging! So, since your battery is fully charged, the headlight is running of the battery, and you are just seeing the minor fluctuations of the stator thinking about charging, and then backing off. Hopefully this extends the life of the battery for us Z riders! Fun commute!
Made my down payment the other day, picking it up next saturday... CANNOT wait! We have about the same length of a commute with the same speed limits and you made me feel even better about it! (And i only weigh 135). This will be my first bike and I am so excited.
Hey brother, what has been your experience. I bought a 2023 brand new as my very first bike also. A year of riding has made me much more comfortable and I love it. I might buy something a bit larger for a little more torque, but for a 5'10" 150 lb guy, it's so fun to whip around quiet curvy country roads.
IgoByaGo Each dealer got one (I bought ours!). Then they will dish them out based on size/sales of dealership when production ramps up. I tried to locate one for another gentleman and had no luck. They are flying out of the dealerships.
I was glad to hear you said your weight is 230. I weight a little more than that. This bike reminds me of back in the day ridding a Briggs and Stratton Mini bike when I was a teenager and having that desire to break free and ride it on the road. Only with this bike it would be legal and of course I am a lot older. It looks like you have perfect road to ride it to work on. Have fun and let me look at your other videos.
"Big heavy bastard on a little bitty bike" I'm 230 and about 5'10", I kind of want to get either a Grom or Z125. I haven't looked how they compare. I like how the Z125 looks over the Grom. Just my opinion.
Ha! I was Mi Gusta dancing yesterday while getting a Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT Ranch ready for a customer because it started playing on my phone. They are both awesome but c'mon! Kawa-sexy! It would fit far better in your familia but you will have to wait until about August.
You can speed shift on it? There's another high quality extra added on top of the inverted forks. Plan on getting one as soon as I see one in my area. I'll be sure to race all of the Grom owners in the area and let them know that there's a killer in town. lol
Yeah but im sure theres a reason why people prefur a Grom,, simply cause it's a Honda, plain and simple. when i buy a generator, i dont bother with other brand for good reason.
I used to have the 02 Kawasaki Eliminator 125 love that little bike other than the fact that was carbureted it's pretty much the same motor but it had a 5-speed and it was a little Cruiser I put a thousand miles on in 4 days then somebody had decided to steal it
+TomAndToys no when i got it the oil level was good. after 50 miles the oil was damn near pouring out when i checked it. i drained to half mark on dipstick... 10 miles later same thing. it can only be gas. i took it to dealer just wondering if anyone else has same issue and what it is
Great video. Can you tell me a little about your video setup? Would love to do some rides w/commentary on my Z, but I need to figure out the gear I need to use. Camera / Mount / Mic. Thanks in advance!
I put a deposit on a Z125 yesterday, less than 24 hours after someone at work told me about it. I just got my motorcycle license in October 2015 and I've never been on a motorcycle other than the class. The Z125 will be my first bike. How do you think it will be as an introduction to motorcycling? I can get to and from work with a top speed of 45 mph, so I think it'll be fine as a commuter.
+aqthegreat I put a deposit as well. I'm in Maui, Hawaii currently and the salesman called me Friday and said they've received it. This will be my first bike as well. Curious to see how it goes. Looks like an awesome bike and I picked it over the Grom.
+TomAndToys Maui, Hawaii is a perfect place to ride the ZPro. Paved roads and unbelievable scenery. My job is about 30 miles from where I live and will be riding the ZPro, how was your first ride? Is it viable for an every day kind of ride for that distance? Comfortable?
I'm a first time rider and I seriously want to get this as my first bike but for work I drive in a 55 mph zone about 7 miles, and go to my girlfriends house and school and that is about 17 miles at 45, 55, 40, and 30 mph zones will this work for me and is it really bad for it to do 55 like that. Will it die on me or get ruined
I just bought a 2018 with 3000 miles on it the guy sold it to me for 1800 dollars it is a blast to ride the only thing I can’t get used to is the curves were I used to have a R1 and used to hitting the curves on it it just feels like the z125 is going to slide out on me is that true u can’t take the curves fast or am I just flipping out for no reason great videos by the way I ride mine 25 miles every day and I have tons of curves here in Kentucky makes me not even want to go to work lol
i've been told to break it in like how you're going to ride it. thats what i did with my grom been great ever sense. my curious question is what name brand tires are on it?
I'm a 5 ft tall girl, and I really want a bike. The problem is I've never rode a motorcycle before. I think an automatic would be way easier to start off with. Anybody know any small automatic bikes?
would you recommend this as a first bike? I have a car already and I love the small size, I'm sure it would be a fun second vehicle. thanks in advance!
First bike? Hmmm. Depends on you. It won't go on a highway as it only goes about 55 or so (depending on weight, hills and wind). You can only carry things in a backpack. Normal humans look like a clown on it. Great stuff: easy to ride. Full speed everywhere and that makes EVERYTHING feel like a race (read fun). I smile the whole time riding it as I commute 15 or so miles to work and back every day. I see all of the things around me. Parking is a breeze. It is very manageable. Did I say that it is just a boatload of fun? It's up to you and depends on your requirements. I'll say that it is fun!
yeah I was originally looking at the grom but I like the z125 looks better, and yeah here in California these aren't allowed on the freeway either. definitely going to look more into this, they're about 3k right?
yeah im thinking a fun little bike screw around on should nice and being a larger frame knowing it didn't slow you down if any at all is a relief as well.
Only if you like it, choose with your heart not with your mind and ignore the others. It is you that is important. I am 260 pound guy and I would love to have a z125 even though I have a 2013 zx6r.
Out of curiosity how many MPG does the Z125 get? The Grom does 130-135 MPG but only has a 1.5 gallon tank while this has a 2 gallon one. Trying to see who has the bigger range.
I'm sorry but you might have to check forums for that. I have never monitored fuel consumption and I have modified the tar out of my Z. I wish that I could help but I can't.
Copy. Yeah I Googled almost every conceivable way to find out the MPG on it, from reviews all the way to Kawasaki in other part of the world. Nothing. Just thought since your Z125 probably has a way of monitoring the fuel consumption you'd know. It's still a nice little bike. Imagine if they had another cylinder and were water cooled. You'd probably hit 75-80.
So I checked it out and from what I've seen it's anywhere from 80 to 110 MPG depending how much power you give it. Most of the people posting are saying 100 so it's just below the Grom which says 134 MPG according to the Honda website. Thanks.
It's not the bike. It's me. It seems to happen when I am excited. I installed the air intake the other day and hit neutral once again. Otherwise, it never happens.
Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. I did less this time as this was the FIRST ever ride. I wanted to at LEASET alleviate a small amount of stress that I am causing during the first few miles of operation.
Hehe I gotcha. Hey speaking of the break in, the motoman break in is the easiest because it means balls to the wall (easy) to seat the piston rings, and oil change after 5 miles (annoying) to get the initial shavings out of the motor. Look it up if you arent familiar!
Ex Ninja warrior here... I'm riding a KLR and a Versys but I'm getting my z125 pro as soon as my local Kawi dealer gets it in.... my name is on one. :)

Ideal for me to get one for my 20 mile long daily commute. 45 mph max speed road and lots of red lights, school zones and stop & go traffic.
Yep! I really just smile and laugh the whole way!
"deal with it, heathen" lmao this is the type of guy I need to ride with. lol
Thought I recognized your trip to work. I live in Round Rock. I actually took my BRC Course in Hutto on a Z125. Fun little ride!
Cool video, thanks for sharing! We have a couple Grom's but love the new Z125. I hope this segment continues to grow.
I watched the entire thing. It seems like you made your morning commute a blast. I love days when I can ride, even in this Dallas heat.
You don't have a choice not to have a blast on these things. It is 100% the whole time. Smiles by the miles!
It looks that way. I can't wait to twist the throttle on one.
+IgoByaGo when have you heard that you will see them? I sell them and have no insight.
I haven't. I keep checking the dealer by my house. I am hoping soon though.
IgoByaGo Each dealer got one (I bought ours!). Then they will dish them out based on size/sales of dealership when production ramps up. I tried to locate one for another gentleman and had no luck. They are flying out of the dealerships.

Your doing something almost no one else is doing and that’s having fun going to work
Hahahahaha the Texas accent made this video 10x better for me. Makes me miss home.
"My wife weighs nothing nothing I weigh nothing nothing" lol good way to keep your wife happy XD
"Big heavy bastard on a little bitty bike" I'm 230 and about 5'10", I kind of want to get either a Grom or Z125. I haven't looked how they compare. I like how the Z125 looks over the Grom. Just my opinion.
They are both great bikes. I chose for aesthetic appeal and a couple of other features. They are great fun!
So torn between this and the grom, but you make this look sweet haha
Ha! I was Mi Gusta dancing yesterday while getting a Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT Ranch ready for a customer because it started playing on my phone. They are both awesome but c'mon! Kawa-sexy! It would fit far better in your familia but you will have to wait until about August.
bakerXderek so other youtubers do watch youtube .....

Clarence Swope something special about the small bikes. Stinks that it was stolen!
I was watching this video and took me a while to realize that this is in Pflugerville!
can't wait to see these on the roads there I live.
im having an issue of the oil growing in mine. anyone has any issue like so? 62 miles on odo
Oil "growing". Do you mean "leaking"?
+TomAndToys no when i got it the oil level was good. after 50 miles the oil was damn near pouring out when i checked it. i drained to half mark on dipstick... 10 miles later same thing. it can only be gas. i took it to dealer just wondering if anyone else has same issue and what it is
i believe when youre on the throttle the alternator shuts down to add more HP. why the light goes dim you asked
Nice bike. I'm picking up one on Tuesday. Damn $1.89 for gas. That's sweet.
Great video. Can you tell me a little about your video setup? Would love to do some rides w/commentary on my Z, but I need to figure out the gear I need to use. Camera / Mount / Mic. Thanks in advance!

It will be excellent. It brings a smile to my face every time I ride it. Totally cool as a beginner bike and beyond. Just have fun!
+The Russell I hope you really love it! Have a bunch of fun on it!
+The Russell Absolutely! I enjoy taking time to see everything. Plenty comfortable.
I'm a first time rider and I seriously want to get this as my first bike but for work I drive in a 55 mph zone about 7 miles, and go to my girlfriends house and school and that is about 17 miles at 45, 55, 40, and 30 mph zones will this work for me and is it really bad for it to do 55 like that. xRAZORCLAWx top speed on this thing is about 70-75mph, I guess you should be fine
Is Z125 pro slow if we compare with Grom ?
😂😂😂😂 the neutral shifts
So u can speed shift with out using the clutch
this is hard core. I have almost 4000 miles on mine!! I ride rain, snow, fog... just rag it out..lol
This is an awesome video.
IRC tires. There is a NR77U on the back. 127/70-12... Didn't look at the dimensions on the front.
TomAndToys cool i was just curious on the brand thanks for letting me know!!
I'm a 5 ft tall girl, and I really want a bike. The problem is I've never rode a motorcycle before. I think an automatic would be way easier to start off with. Anybody know any small automatic bikes?
dill pickle kymco 125 is automatic. it won't die wout using a clutch.
Get the motobravo rocket 150cc. It's automatic and good bike.
Great video!
would you recommend this as a first bike? I have a car already and I love the small size, I'm sure it would be a fun second vehicle. thanks in advance!

Thanks. I'll look into it.

Picked mine up 4 days ago, they are a cool bike :)
Congratulations! Post pictures! I hope you have half the fun as I am with this little guy!
You live out in round rock?
Floogieville.
Lol nice Austin area
+TomAndToys nice. Where did you buy the bike from?
+WhopperJr89 Central Texas Powersports in Georgetown (I work there). I usually ride it in if you wanna see it.
+TomAndToys I've been looking for a new bike but I'm poor. I'll stop by soon. I live out in Leander
This bike can be used on a highway? I mean like 1-2 hours driving 60-65 mph?
Luke Raven no, it's not highway legal. mine will max out at 61mph.
ryanwilsonbackup Oh, what a shame . Thank you
My bike did 68 rev limiter
whats the issue with hitting neutral?
It's not the bike. It's me. It seems to happen when I am excited. I installed the air intake the other day and hit neutral once again. Otherwise, it never happens.
+TomAndToys I love your vids man I also plan on getting one soon , keep doing what you do and ride safe
you clutch in to stop? why not let the engine coast/brake?
Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. I did less this time as this was the FIRST ever ride. I wanted to at LEASET alleviate a small amount of stress that I am causing during the first few miles of operation.
+TomAndToys typos suck. :)

kool vlog...awesome long drive..
hey i also live in round rock
i weight 120lbs very fit ... i wonder if i get it i would do a new top speed record .....
Gearing limits the top speed. :( It is about 66/67MPH (indicated) and about 64MPH (GPS verified).
TomAndToys :( damm
What kind of licence would I need to drive one of these on the streets legally.
Just a motorcycle license here in Texas.
+TomAndToys And about how much do you pay for insurance for the z125
Christopher Pulling it's different for every person...
Why do reviews say its almost a scooter ? It's a starter bike ?
Not sure. Maybe since it is such a low displacement and not really capable of highway speeds? That is my only thought.
Its very friendly like a scooter and also easy to learn gears on.
Modern break ins are away for manufacturers to get out of fixing shit.
I cant explain it, but I have absolutely no use for a z125 in my stable but I want Kawasaki to Shut Up And Take My Money!
the z125 is way more fun than it should be. lol. I have a gsxr 600 and an Fz09 also. The z is beyond fun to hooligan on. lol
Ex Ninja warrior here... I'm riding a KLR and a Versys but I'm getting my z125 pro as soon as my local Kawi dealer gets it in.... my name is on one. :)
gmctech thats funny, i just woke up and went to the dealer. They had one so i bought it. lol
Arrrrr. Ssswwwiiitttccchhh. Lol
NICE
WHITE NOISE! (can you do something about your audio?)
just waste your tires
