As a NPG Music club member, i bought tickets for the Musicology when it came to my city. So when i got there, and I had pretty good seats already. The usher said to me, sir, your seats have chaned... follow me... so I, and my friend, followed him. All the way to second row from the stage!!!!! I was a very happy camper to say the least.
Same here! I was an NPG member and sat or mostly STOOD in the front row in Sunrise, FL at the Musicology Tour! Got to see Purple Yoda live 7 or 8 times . Probably more. It’s a glorious blur. Miss him SO much 😢
What a funktastic Saturday treat! Loved your reaction. I was blessed to see Prince in concert 15 times and it still wasn't enough. You are absolutely right, it was more than a concert, it was an experience. I was always on a purple high after a Prince concert. Always fun and so joy inducing. I would leave fully satisfied, yet always wanting more. There is NOTHING like a Prince concert. I miss him so very much! 💜💜💜
I had the honor of seeing him live 4 times - including THIS tour. A master craftsman giving a master class in musicianship & performance. His music changed my life. His concerts changed my DNA.
I love to watch your PRINCE reactions I had to subscribe. Musicology is one of his best tours my favorites his musicians were top tier. Rhonda Smith out of all his bassist she is my favorite 🔥 🔥 all his musicians had to be almost as great as him . PRINCE concerts was a experience and a big old party 🎉 💜💜 I still can't believe sometimes he's gone . I love and miss u PRINCE 💜🕊 🕊
Thanks so much for the sub and you hit the nail on the head when it comes to Prince! A true ICON that will never be forgotten! More Prince to come in the near future and thanks for hanging out! Have a great day! 💜
Nothing like a Prince concert!💜 My first Prince concert was in 1982 (Him, The Time & Vanity 6). I was dressed in a camisole, lace pants, booties and gloves that were trimmed in fur.🤣🤣🤣
Yep it was a great line-up for Musicology tour, Rhonda Smith bass, Greg Boyer trombone, Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer sax, Chance and Renato Neto keys, Mike Scott guitar, Mr. Blackwell on kit, and Prince on everything. It might sound cringe but those concerts made you feel like you were the center of the universe. Nothing mattered outside those venues, we were at a Prince concert and that's all that mattered. Hard to describe, because the music would change up like first you're at church, then you're at a disco, then at a rock concert, jazz bar etc. etc. Amazingly Prince has done over 1,500 concerts over his career not counting aftershows, one-offs, tv shows, benefit concerts, Paisley Park parties, it was just bonkers. Where have you ever seen a trombone solo? Sick! Seeing it on video doesn't do it justice experiencing it live. Damn got a little emotional watching this video with you lol It was the last time I saw him. Musicology. I've seen Prince live 4x in concert and 1 aftershow. 93' Chicago Act 1 tour plus 1 aftershow same night at the Hard Rock Cafe Chicago. 97' Grand Rapids,MI Jam Of The Year tour 98' Indianapolis, IN New Power Soul tour 04' Oklahoma City, OK Musicology live 2004ever tour Nice reaction sir Liv4luv 0(+->
So glad you enjoyed it and I really appreciate you hanging out! This was just legendary on so many levels! I absolutely loved this and Prince will forever be remembered! Have a great one! 💜
Love your reactions . Prince changed the lyrics 😂. He stop cussing. The original is on the 1999 album. My favorite Prince memories are being with him at Paisley Park. I loved talking to him after one of his killer parties 🎉. Yes he was funny , sweet and beautiful inside and out. I miss him ssooo much. I love your appreciation and expert knowledge. U rock ❤ #peaceandstaywild
Thanks so much for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it! This was so much fun and Prince’s personality was definitely shining through! So much fun! 😄
Great request by Samantha!!! There is so much about this performance that I love. So many people think that Prince was always so serious and had no sense of humor, and this performance shows just how inaccurate that perception is. Plus, great musicology as always. Great reaction once again! I look forward to the next one 💜💜💜
Eyes was blessed 2 see Prince 3x in concert. 1999 Tour in Jacksonville, FL...Purple Rain Tour in Lexington. KY...and Parade Tour in Frankfurt, West Germany...Thank GOD & Prince the G.O.A.T !!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful way to start a Saturday morning! Your reaction was so much fun to watch. Whether he was playing to 10 people or a 20,000 seat arena like this show, I guarantee every person in that audience felt like he was playing specifically for them at some point in the show. P truly loved his supporters, and you could feel so much love in the room at every single show. He did an interview around this time talking about how so much pop music was just about alcohol and promiscuity, and it isn't all just about a party. But the party aspect will be there regardless if the music is great, so it's so important to focus on the musicianship first and foremost. He definitely accomplishes that here. 💜 Thanks again for this reaction, and I look forward to the next one!
Thanks for recommending it Samantha! I absolutely loved this performance! Definitely brought me so much joy and the musicianship was insane! Every Prince video I see is a new experience! Phenomenal! 💜
PRINCE was the best. As you mentioned, Prince fans always know all of the band members names because he spotlights all of them, most band you have no idea who is playing, i saw Prince several times live and the problem was after seeing his concerts it was hard going to other concerts because they werent prince. Like his music or not there was and never will be a better live performer then Prince
Haha 🤣 That is the downside! He was an absolutely INCREDIBLE artist and his music and artistry will live on forever! Thanks for hanging and glad you enjoyed it! 💜
I can't believe it has been 20 years since this tour. My wife and I went to the show in Washington, DC. You are right, it was a total experience. I think it was over 30 songs + solos and band intros, etc. Show went on forever, but it was way too short at the same time. Loved it and best concert I have been to. It slightly inched out Pink Floyd, which is also an experience (saw them in Toronto in 1994).
Great reaction! I was in the music biz in the 80s and saw a ton of concerts. No one had the type of synergy that Prince had with his audience. It was almost visual! I was fortunate to see him live over 10 times, always an experience!
Thank you so much for pointing out how he shines the light on others. He was never afraid to help others shine, one of a kind and gone too soon. RIP Prince
you should also react to DMSR in 1983 at first avenue, which is a club in MPLS that he played at a lot before he got famous even after he got famous he still hit up that club every once and a while. that same night he also preformed all of the purple rain album before it was ever heard because he didn't release it yet, he also did a cover and some other songs that he made. its another really cool thing he did so it would be real cool to check it out. also the live show he did with Sheila e, a love bizarre which is the song he when to at the end.
This tour opened in Los Angeles and was aired at select movie theaters around the country simultaneously. It started at midnight. I also saw it live in Philly. I was a member of his NPG Music Club so had choice seats in the 5th row. I saw him live 17 times and I'll tell you that there is only ONE Prince 😊😊.
Got to see Prince live 3 times. During his Lovesexy tour the stage goes dark then Prince comes up through a hole in the stage sitting at a baby grand. He then proceeds to do a solo medley of some of his hits. Nothing Compares 2 Him.
I have been to 3 Prince shows! My very first was the 1999 Tour, when I was a high school sophomore! I was hooked! The Time and Vanity 6 opened for him. It was EVERYTHING!! My next was, of course Purple Rain. My good Lord, it was out of this world! The 10 minute version of Purple Rain, lighters in the air….OMG! The last show was not attached to an album release. This was the power of Prince! It was at an outdoor pavilion. He had everyone jamming to his greatest hits! Man, I miss him!!
Prince may have been small in stature, but he became a giant when he stepped onto the stage. There were and are few, if any, performers that can hold an audience like him. After seeing him perform, you were never the same. It was like a religious experience.
I saw Prince for the first time at the cow Palace in the Bay Area. I was like 13 and my friends mom took us. So disappinted when our seats were literally behind the stage. We ended up trying to make it to the floor but to our good fortune we took a staircase that circled and overhang like 20 feet to the left and about 10 feet above the stage. We just stopped on the stairway overhang and watch Sheila E. who opened for him and it was so close and there were 10 or 20 other people there so we just watched the entire concert from right there. It was epic!. Purple rain tour i think 1985. If you ever see concert video of like the "Syracuse concert" it's the same tour i think just a different location. Best show i ever went to. I even found audio recordings of the shows he did that weekend but i've yet to listen back to them. I should do that soon.
The way Prince would set up his playlists for concerts - there was no "sitting down" for a song to take a break. Every song was a hit. Or just funky. Even the slower songs, we were wrapped around his finger. Saw him 5x in concert, and you nailed it - the crowd was HIS. And for us Prince "junkies," every song was memorized. It was tiring to watch; I don't know how he did it night after night.
admirer since 1978 never misse a US concert since Lovesexy once I was old enough to work and pay for tickets. I use to sneak and listen to Soft and Wet when my mom would leave for work. lololol
This is why I have a hard time understanding why my granddaughter get s so excited about the Swift concert. I watched the movie version. She's so bland compared to this.

Prince had the best sense of humor. I love his Midwest accent
I had the honor of seeing him live 4 times - including THIS tour. A master craftsman giving a master class in musicianship & performance.
His music changed my life. His concerts changed my DNA.
The trombone player is Greg Boyer, he played for Parliament Funkadelic for 19 years
Such a beast! Love that solo he put down!
This shows the magic of music and few have done it better than this man
This is real music by real musicians. Noone can do it like Prince do

My favorite version of DMSR...which is sayin' something given the sanitized lyrics in this version and the fact the album recording is 🔥
💜

AWESOME REACTION 🔥 KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 👍🏽👏🏽✌🏼🇺🇸🫡
I was there
I went to the Musicology concert 2004 in Houston, Tx

17 times one time I went to see him in Charlotte NC on a Wednesday, Greensboro NC on a Friday and Columbus SC on a Saturday. ALL IN THE SAME WEEK!
The ending is a little bit of Prince & Sheila E "Glamourous Life"
I believe Maceo Parker was known as the Hendrix of Sax.
In my opinion 1999 is his best! 🔥 Cover to cover ✌️
This was so much fun and such a great performance! 💜
Prince may have been small in stature, but he became a giant when he stepped onto the stage. There were and are few, if any, performers that can hold an audience like him. After seeing him perform, you were never the same. It was like a religious experience.
Sometimes it would be religious- like little known "The Cross".. loved it

When he came to Detroit he could not do one day..he did a whole week back in the 80s
You know when Prince comes on you are gonna be dancing oh yeah oh yeah my teenager hates this lol 😜 😂
Haha 😂 Hilarious!!!

Boy was a mess😂😂
I was at both shows in Dallas he thow roof the mother Jamie parks studio 😅
That’s so cool! I bet it was a complete blast! Thanks for sharing! 😁
Please, react to Prince - Fury.
admirer since 1978 never misse a US concert since Lovesexy once I was old enough to work and pay for tickets. I use to sneak and listen to Soft and Wet when my mom would leave for work. lololol
Haha 😂 Hilarious! Such a legendary artist! 💜
I was 8th row at this exact show!
That’s so cool!!! 💜
I’ll never understand having the need to pause every 15 seconds
We ain’t for everyone. No worries! ✌🏻
Rhonda Smith
Didn't like he would censor the lyrics.
This is why I have a hard time understanding why my granddaughter get s so excited about the Swift concert. I watched the movie version. She's so bland compared to this.
omg quit pausing at the good parts...pause on the breakdown, come on man this is Prince
🤷🏻♂️
