  • Finally, we get to the good stuff! We've started building out the cabinets. First, though, the bed frame had to be built.
We are trying to get the bus to a state of build that it's considered an rv. Up here in Alberta, that means it needs a bed, a fridge, a sink, and a stove.
Well, the bed frame is done. I've now built the cabinets where the sink will be installed and where our butane stove will sit while in use.
There is no doubt we are moving faster and faster now. These are the exciting times. Lots of changes from video to video.
We hope you enjoy this video and find it useful. Give it a like and subscribe to our channel. It would really mean a lot to us. Hit that little bell icon as well so you don't miss any future videos we put out.

I am glad to see that you took my advice and reused the plywood from the seats. They will provide you with many years of pleasure and support.
The bed is quite high. You might want to put a rail around it partially to keep you from falling out.
Back in the 70's I had a van that had a bed in the back like that. I picked up a full length bead curtain to separate the rooms. You might be able to get one at that neat store you guys went to in a previous episode. The resue store.
And I was thinking for the transition area that maybe a nice piece of either carpet (woven) or fibreglass might work. Fibreglass would be good because you could mold it to whatever shape you wanted.

We are trying to use as much from the bus tear down as possible. The seat bottoms we had planned on using all along. Possibly for the couch but my plans for that have changed. It works perfectly for the bed frame though. I have 8 more boards that I'm going to try to get back into the bus some where. I have plans for 4 of them right away.
The bed is high, yes. We have to build the kennel for our large dogs under it so it had to go up. As for the railing around it, it would just be one more thing to climb over. We are not planing a separation curtain at this time but we might down the road. We like the open concept of the bus.
We have thought of fiberglassing the transition as well. It may come down to that but that's one of the last things we are going to worry about. I like that idea though.

@@genxers I would really like to see another video of treasure hunting at the re-use-it store.
      That was my favorite video.

I'm really liking the wood interior.
Should add some driftwood to the interior design.
Don't forget to put a rack on the top for surfboards!!!

Well, we live in the interior of Canada, not much drift wood here. LOL. The rack would be for snowboards!

Glad to have had you along all this time! We probably won't get the bus done this fall but it will be close to useable for the early spring. Hoping to have solar and water in next summer. But it's almost usable for traveling now.

Dude it looks so good! Looks like it's going together so much quicker now than when you were doing all the skeletal work. Next Spring couldn't come fast enough! Or... are you aiming to be done before then for some Winter camping?

    • @genxers
      @genxers  Год назад +1

Definitely going faster now! All that skeletal work was so painfull. Sheet metal set us back a month. We are aiming for early spring. If I can get the heater in before it snows we might do some winter camping though.

Well, I managed to do half a day of work. Then covid took all 4 of us out in the house. So, work has come to a screeching halt this week. LOL. I had big plans too. Of course.
