Just amazing how there is an entire backstory of almost every npc in this game.Been 5 years and still the best game ever
Sadly we won't have games like RDR2 ever again
@@tutigseg Of course there will be
@@tutigsegYou can't really say that as the PS5 has a long way to go still and there's other great devs making some great games, nobody knows what the future holds and as great as RDR2 is, one day it will be surpassed with a greater detailed game...
I hear you though, as it's my all time favourite game and it'll take some beating that's for sure.
Happy gaming.
@@mickyb.8014 I really hope so but the gaming industry is just not the same anymore, just look at every release Rockstar did after RDR2 it's just disappointment after disappointment, I've started to lose hope in GTA 6 too something tells me we will all be disappointed with GTA 6 too
@@tutigseg I hear you mate, years ago I worked in the industry, it's take2 that have destroyed R* (and Dan Housers departure)..
You're right though, but let's just hope eh?!?
Justice has come...because apparently John can read Norwegian.
But he can't draw or swim worth a shit. 😂
I know right
Which is ironic considering John’s murdered more people than any of the Manzanita post people ever have
Orrr maybe he speaks fox? John was disappointed when “What Does the Fox say?” turned out to be “Nyeaaaa nyrenebdhdh néeee néeee urrrr” and not “ring ding ding da ding”
He didn`t read it. He found it. He put it in his pocket not knowing what to do with it, you the player act out John.
It sounds like that campfire dalogue was actually written for Arthur. The stranger asking if John is Swedisch or Norwegian because of his hair and eyes makes little sense. However Arthur has blue eyes and more brown-blonde-ish hair.
That's what I was thinking
🤔
Anglo Saxons share tribe-origin with Scandinavians so, not wrong.
the game was cut short, the gang was suposed to visit those areas, thats why new austin is in the final game, theres is tons of content that you were suposed to discover playing as arthur
Yep. Great Plains and New Austin were supposed to be for Arthur but they cut it
Missed opportunity for John to wear the viking helmet while using the viking hatchet
That'd be AWESOME! LOL
I am busy with my 100th playthrough thanks for the idea
I always wondered why the skinners don’t mess with the post. They are in skinner territory, but seem unafraid of any skinner attacks.
Being Norwegian and finding that place for the first time and hearing them talk Norwegian spooked me
Det er kult da, lille norge er med i rdr2
@@huxmux Jeg elsker det jeg går dit hele tiden for å høre dem snakke norsk til meg
Sucks that those Norwegians in the game are not very kind people… if they saw me with a Norwegian girlfriend… lets just say I would need John Marston with me lol
@@rubbaABC ja den ene gangen noen norske er i et spill så må de være slik 😭😭 de virker jo jævla snille da, men egentlig er de helt psykopat 💀💀
I think the reason why they put such effort into manzanita is because manzanita wasn't really that much to see in rdr1, it was just the stop at tall trees on the train route, where you could buy provisions and head into the forest.
Tbf as it stands manzanita is way more useful in the first one, I barely look at the one in Redemption 2 because the lack of the actual trading post, I was a little disappointed being a RDR1 player having to travel all the way into town to sell pelts and such. (I know there's the trapper, end up using him most of the time but it's still a shame not to have the trading post!)
@@altair5240why would you ever sell pelts to anyone besides the trapper. That’s literally the point of him.
Play RDR1
Kill 40 Grizzlies in Tall Trees
Sell furs in Mexico for double the price in Blackwater
Profit
@@sargeian2 those bears feared me man, they new when I walked into tall trees, I was there for bloodshed
@@brobrofog I've been playing rdr1 on my PS4. I go in to Tall Trees and there are grizzly bears EVERYWHERE!!! I'll kill a group of 4 and then they keep spawning! Along with wolves. So many wolves...
"Forcing themselves to be extra friendly and polite."
Me: "Sounds like anyone who's worked in retail."
Korshamn is a fishing village and in the Viking era this was the starting location where Christianity entered Viking society. Korshamn therefore played a major role in the religious conversion of Scandinavia and ultimately the beginning of the end of the Viking era.
So perhaps it is no coincidence that Rockstar used this village in the backstory of the Manzanita group.
Korshamn = Cross harbour = Harbour for Christianity = Priests, baptise, confirmation, marriage, funeral, graveyard, holydays, sermons, Sunday school = Brainwash = Taxes = Power.
I will never forget this game for the rest of my life. While I was playing it, my girlfriend at the time was often sitting next to me, and we enjoyed and suffered together (Arthur's death). Exactly one month after the release, our three-year relationship broke up, which hit me very hard. I couldn't continue playing it at the time because it always reminded me of her. I sold it. Just about 2 months ago, I picked it up again for $10.... Man, I just love this game!
I'm glad to know it is just fox noises. I swear the first time I heard it I was like "Is that a baby?"
Your channel is pure art, the videos just keep getting better and better, the Emerald Ranch one is one of the best thing I've ever seen.
..You can't have seen much lol😂
@@mickyb.8014 Well i did say one of the best, it's a big list lol
@@NicoParasite fair play😄it's all good
One of the recent videos was sorta meh like when he presented Micah’s dead body as a secret/detail… like I’d understand if the detail was about his body being flipped and one gun missing because of the agents but that wasn’t it
I hope someday there will be a medieval game in the style of Red dead.
I Must say rdr2 is a Game for it's self i already played it 7-8 Times and im Always fascinated how much effort was put into that game
I just hope the same amount of effort will be put into red dead, redemption, three
@@chrishilton3626 oh yes i Hope that too 😁
@@chrishilton3626only time will tell, I think it's going to have to be a great game as they've a lot to live up to now have R*...
Especially after everyone not being too happy with the rdr1 port malarky.
Sad news is both Houser brothers (founders of rockstar and directed pretty much every game since GTA1) both left
@@deeznutz8320 noooooooooooo
I don't think we're ever going to get a game with so much detail, lore and beautiful story and characters by Rockstar or any other company
hold my beer.
the ending just make me wish even more we had a way to interact more with these secrets, even if it's nothing big, like gaining honor killing them only after you discover their secret or being able to capture them and deliver them to justice
I know what you mean but it wouldn't make that much sense since John and probably most people in the game can't read norweigan. Also killing them IMO isn't an objectively "honorable" thing to do, especially since some clearly feel guilt or remorse about the whole ordeal. Leaving them in peace or "punishing" them are the only interactions needed IMO.
Crazy! I've always thought the locations in this backstory was dynamic/based on some sort of geolocation so someone playing the game from the US would have locations from the US, someone from Mexico would get a Mexican location etc etc. I am borne and raised in the neighbouring municipality of Lyngdal (Lyngdal being the municipality of which Austad and Korshamn are part of) and it feels surreal to think a big game like this, from another part of the world are referring to very small (even by Norwegian standards) places as part of a backstory within the game. There were a lot of people from Lyngdal that travelled over to the US in this time period. The people of Lyngdal/Austad/Korshamn are still to this day generally very devoted Christians, so no doubt it would be frowned upon back then if someone foreign, with a different religion than them, came into their community and impregnated one of their own. Edit: and the women from Lyngdal are also very pretty. Not surprised that someone travelling there would fall in love with someone from there, and also not surprising that someone from there would fall in love with someone new and exciting.
Oh man, still get excited when I see Strange Man post.
Edit: I’ve been fooled in real life with foxes screaming. Walked my entire property one night thinking someone was in distress. Learned quickly it was a family of foxes, little turds!
Yeah, Nature makes some terrifying sounds sometimes! There is still something out in Tall Trees that I have NO idea what it is, but it freaks me out! LOL
****OH! He talks about the sound here! LOL
Yeah! So have I! I moved to London several years ago and my first weekend there I thought I heard a woman screaming bloody murder out the open window in our bedroom. I was so scared I woke up my fiancé to check what it was. It was a fox 🦊😒
Your editing skills are phenomenal mate, especially that ending montage.
Always a good day when Strange Man uploads
Have u cut ur ring finger?
no we aint in 1191 anymore@@hussainmehdi4378
I always feel like strange man works for rockstar and this is his position to run this channel
You wouldn't be the first to feel that way and won't be the last either... many have posted the same sentiments for a few years now.
The only problem with this theory is the fact that Strange Man updates his video, a true "worker of Rockstar" will only make one video and that's it!
No.
*HOT DAMN!!!* that ending was fantastic! Oooooo just like that recent Emerald Ranch ending, beautiful!
Dude, that ending montage was THE most impressive RDR edit ever
I would watch a tv show from The Strange man made like the montage at the end. So good!
I know people say it so much but its just so true, there is always something to find out in this game, theres just SO much content and things to discover, I wouldn't be surprised if we have only scratched the surface!
These montages at the end just keep getting better and better! Love them Strange Man
I always thought they were with the Skinner brothers because they never get attacked and when getting tools for Johns house the Skinners attack right after.
I have an idea why the fox can be heard around the camp. It could be a easter egg towards the Norwegian group Ylvis who made the song "what does the fox say?"
🤔
Man Five And Half Years Still This Game Hiding A Lots Of Secrets
As a Swede, I think it's great fun that my country is mentioned in this game
Norway isn't Sweden dude
@@user-yj3nu5gr9plol I think they meant when the camper was talking
@@user-yj3nu5gr9pSweden still got mentioned. And Norway used to be a part of Sweden
@@user-yj3nu5gr9p check the 1:12 minutes
@@user-yj3nu5gr9p nah he was talking about that line about the gossip where he says like "norwegians or swedish people" or something
When RDR3 comes out, Strange Man will have to find something to make him immortal just to cover all the stuff :v
Strangeman: You think red dead redemption 2 is done? Well, not on my watch
The editing and material is just awesome! Very nice
Why is it they never been attacked by the skinners? They’re right there in Tall Trees for them to kill, always someone is killed but why not attack Manzanita Post?
Cultists together strong
Just commented the same thing. The skinners do all sorts of messed up things and terrorize the countryside, but the post people seem unconcerned at all.
They are tortured by their own demons.@@krisius1
If you go to hanging dog farm at night you can hear dogs howling in every direction for about 2 mins, also the bounty you do where you catch the women who lires men on dates and kills them, you can go to the jail later on and talk to her in her cell in valentine.
The howling could be wolves, you can sometimes sneak up that northeast path at the back of the place and there's usually a small pack of them that hangs out there. 😉🐺
@eighthdoctor that's the thing, it came from every direction, no red dots on the map and I ran around the while ranch looking, then I realized it's dog howls not wolf, it sounds different. Also I did it as John and they weren't ranchers there when I killed everyone, one guy was talking about cutting up and eating somthing but he saw me and it ended the dialog
You can talk to every bounty after you put them in cell
@@souhardchawhan1402 like days/ weeks later?
@@vaughanbloomfield7326 yes, usually right after locking them up and for the next few days before they hang- you can also watch their hanging if you stay in town & repeatedly check the gallows around noon. lots of non-bounty hangings too & at every hanging the player can shoot the rope to save them or leave them to die
Love the cinematography of your video, the end was just like a film. Love it. Plus love that they put this much work in to every NPC 😊
Another cinematic masterpiece
I just started revisiting rdr2 after a couple years and I'm pleasantly surprised to find you've solved this mystery, bravo.
Cinematic masterpiece the final montage, great job man
Arkham batman getting a physical category that isn't endurance? Impossible!
Best ending ever. Well done. 😀
I love you
You keep the secrets coming
Also Ending Montage was EPIC
Fantastic work as always!! Can't wait for the next video!
The end was absolutely amazing👏👏👏
That was truly PHENOMENAL! That ending was PURE ART!!!
It was like a whole video game trailer!!!
BIG UPS AND PROPS TO YOU STRANGE !!!
Great video!!! I saw it was 15 minutes and thought surely I won’t watch it all. I wish there was another 15. Great job!
I love the way your videos are done 👏🏻
I never expected my native country to be in a game as big as rdr2, but I think its really cool that rockstar chose norway over any other country
It is cool, all the colder states in America were colonized by the Norwegians mostly
I had the same feeling when Dutch Van Der Linde said his father was from Rotterdam Holland (My country) this game is amazing
Damn bro, that music is actually amazing!
Another certified banger. 💥
Lyngdal is just a few cities from me and after reading the newspaper for the first time that creeped me out.
Very well done. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and appreciate the time and effort you put into creating them 👍🏾 bravo 👏🏽
The ending goes so hard, awesome!
Awesome video! The end was epic!
I love this game, and this channel.
John Marston - Avenging Angel of the West! Love these ending montages ❤
Wow, what a post! Just when I didn't think you could step it up...
Strange Man never disappoints, unlike rockstar.
because of rockstar who create this magnefic game. we wouldnt have strange man right now.
@@bbokari9880youre about to get people explaining what he meant in replies and id do it too but i dont feel like it
@@doode-i dont need to hear the explanations anyway, i know whats rockstar doing.
@@bbokari9880he means that rockstar disappointed us by not giving two shits about this game even tho the game itself is very good bru
@@doode-Blame the parent company 2K, the Houser brothers left the studio its all corpo now
The end montage is fantastic.
That ending Montage!!! you have ability to make all RDR story in 1 part like a movie ;)
I do love the revenge at the end
A video game that makes people talk about itself well and in an interesting way after many years can only be an excellent video game
That montage 😱 is so good mate 🗡
Wow keep up the great work
This game is crazy.
i love watching these videos.. keep it up
Strange Man! More! Strange Man!
I legit restarted the game to do everything I've watched this guy do its amazing so much extra game play
Very cool video!!!!
These videos are awesome
I remember the surprise the first time I rode in here in the game and understood what they were saying lmfao. I was even more surprised over the fact that they seemed to have actually hired norwegians or someone who speaks it because it's fluent. Even the bad english lol
Love this channel
This was amazing, especially the end! Done in true RDR2 style. 😁
You my friend know how to appreciate and play a game the right way.
the ending montage was SATISFYING AF!!!
Earlyyyyy lessgoooo. That scene at the end of you massacring them with a tomahawk is sickkkk
Yee! Some Kratom and sipping Yerba Maté watching before work. Thx 4 tha upload 👍
Thank you for you work ! And what an amazing and passionate work Rockstar did put into this game is very impressive
You are going to have some work on GTA VI buddy !
"Uren" That's actually a nice word to add to my vocabulary
Dude what the hell is that ending? frickin awesome !!!!
Very good I`m watching.
I do like these revisits, since I missed the original videos.
I’ve always wondered what was written on the note in the chimney. I was also completely unaware of the newspaper scrap that the NPC has. Now I finally know.
"Okayy" - Nils RDR2
These are not the vocalizations of a fox. It is a leporid (such as a hare species, i.e. Lepus californicus) in distress. Such wonderful, usually immersive audio in this game. Some of the vocalizations are terribly misapplied, however. Such as the Virginia opossums (Didelphis virginiana) sounding like barn owls (Tyto alba), or the ring-necked pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) sounding like yellow-headed blackbirds (Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus). But... for the most part, this game can act as a certain medicine when one must be bound to the box. Just a friendly correction/tangent from a naturalist. Thanks for the deep dives. You do them well.
this video is fire!!!!
1:15 lmao dude just opens his mouth and sounds come out 😂
I've just looked whilst zoomed in, well spotted, damn it looks weird, almost like they forgot to animate his mouth (or an animation bug probs).
Bravo!
Another mystery solved by strange man
Proud of myself for being able to tell that the screams were from a Fox 😊
😊
The ending was incredible lol. If you ever visit the classic GTA games could you look into the disappearance of Donald Love in GTA 3?
The quote from Madam Nazar in RD2O is about Thieves Landing as it’s the 'town south of here'. Manzanita Post is to the west of that location.
Right? It's not even close to being a town either. It's a couple buildings labeled Trading Post and you can't even do any actual trading here.
The game that keeps on giving. I beat this so long ago and 100% and I still play it and go around the mystery sites and try and snoop around and see if I can find anything interesting. I know I won’t but I like to at least try
Apparently um addicted to your videos
That was really cool and unexpected
That reenactment was badass, I'd like to.see.more of that
Imagine how cool it would be if we after finding the truth would have a quest to kill cultist or go to the sheriff.
That ending was something else
id love to see a revisted series!
The Banger at the start would make Arthur dance from the grave💀
