I really like your videos! bad enough I do not have the time, or the money, to do your projects on my own. But you do inspire me to do the projects you have posted. When I do have the time I will do the things you have suggested. Thank you for helping people do creative things and you will always have my support! Pardon me for my bad English.
I'd suggest you get a wall mounted metal electrical box to mount the PSU and drive for the XCarve in. Just cut some holes in there for ventilation and add some screen or mesh. Should keep most of the dust out and it's going to be even less of a problem when you've got a dust collection system hooked up to the CNC. Awesome Video mate! Keep up the good work!
my suggestion is this: build a box to mount on the wall, with the wall side bear. also, a computer fan that blows air out of the box (with a switch, of course). why wall mounted? well, the wall is naturally cool and heating could be a big problem for electronics. also, less chances of accidentally hitting the box or have a tool fall on it. nice job! cool vid, man!
First off I want to say great video. I have a few suggestions that may help. All those lose wires worry me. There are a couple different ways Id suggest keeping them all together. I know here in the US you can go to any auto part store to buy flexible tubing you put all the wires though it and then use a heat gun to shrink it around the wires. The other suggestion is to use the flexible plastic tubing that's ribbedd for strength and has a cut all the way down for easy access to the wires. Now for the CPU? and fan I would make a small steel box similar to that of a computer with some expanded steel so it could breath it would be very simple for you to make the back plate bigger so you could mount the box to your wall and keep it out of the way of the dust particles. Hope that helped. Looking forward to more great videos.
The Art of Weapons Thank you for another great video, i look forward to you getting more adventurous with your future projects, as for you power supply and electronics, could you get a second hand mini-itx pc case and modify it to fit them into? that way you could ad filters to the case and mount it to the under side of the bench, you could also possibly make use of the power & reset switches on the case. Good luck for the next Project and thanks again. :)
You should glue some old hard drive magnets to the back of the tool rack, maybe they will be strong enough to hold the tools in place (at least the magnetic ones)
Great job, are these able to do helix paths like an impellar for example? If your wiring is long enough, how would it work to wall mount the power supply?
cool video, maybe you could inset strong magnets in the back so your tool will stay in place and it will add a nice gimig to your tool rack. for the power supply, just a box with air ducts, and cover them from the inside with old nylons, so the dust can´t in.
id suggest buying some standard PC fan filters to put over your fans. also, if you could build some sort of housing for the power supply and wires it would make it less dangerous and would probably make the fan filters easier to fit.
Have you ever considered making a ballistic knife that tis propelled by some kind of elastic, I've made one and it worked great but i think you could make it a lot better and cooler. Thanks, -Matt
Why not make a box for your Power supply you have the Xcarve make alloy base plate to absorb heat wooden sides with vents and fan, make it so xXcarve sits over the top of it saves desk space, well thanks for sharing, as the xcarve is available to all in parts and I have beem buying mine week by week, good to see somebody that makes parts to maintain it Steve
While this cool and is useful to a few of your subscribers, probably 97% maybe more have no way of getting the x-carve and probably never will since we would have to pay crazy money for one. I don't know if anyone else is thinking the same thing but I would like to see more vids on weapons/projects that most of your audience would be able to recreate with the kind of tools you could find in your shed as that is the reason I subscribed in the first place, don't get me wrong I love your vids I just hope it doesn't turn into x-carve mania.
cptblackops In his video about putting together the x-carve he did say that he would try to stick to making slingshots with more common tools, so you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.
It the peeps like me who are planning to buy a 20000 euro cnc machine tat will like the stuff he does caus i do my woodworking stuff al day. And tje advantages with a larger cnc is the addition of being able to adapt a suction thibg that basically sucks up the dust. Also you mount your part safely with vaciuum i love cnc stuff altough woekibg with more basic tools like chizzles is definatly more fun and al that good stuff
*possibly a stupid idea* you could get a micro atx pc to house your power suppy and the mesh fan filters would keep out the dust and the fans in the case could cool the power unit (i dont know if heat is an issue)
What editing program do you use for your videos I would like to make RUclips videos of my own but I just haven't found a cheap reliable editing software. Thanks!
make a tower (sort of like a computer shell) for the wiring and place it under your workspace so that it doesn't get wood in it or so the wiring doesn't get damaged
I have that same caliper and its really accurate (about a half of a thousandth off) but like all calipers it is delicate so be careful putting it in that tool holder
Hey Art of Weapons - By any chance is the X-Carve a paid product placement for this video? I am wondering because I started noticing products being advertised on videos after June 15th on a lot of different videos people put up.
in addition to the other suggestions of filters for the fans, over time dust is going to build up regardless in those fans not just from the machines i would suggest also a acquiring a can of compressed are these are relatively cheap of amazon and are able to clean dust off of electrical parts safely, they are often used to "spring clean" server and domestic computer internals http ://www.amazon. co. uk/AF-Invertible-CFC-free-Non-flammable-SDU200D/dp/B000J6CSBY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1434337001&sr=8-6&keywords=compressed+air+computer the link is to the one that i personally use
TypeOmeg4 also to save time on cut outs like this, raise the material up on a jig and cut the paths all the way through the depth of the material that way you only have to do a path that fallows the outlines of the shapes you want making a hole. then pre paint another piece of material black and sandwich that to the back giving you the same overall result but saving you cut time and sanding time

Dude really cool stuff! This is just the start I can wait to see what you do with this new tool.
Great video as usual ,true to form. Keep up the good work arty weaponry dude!

2.16 that voice crack though aha but good vid keep it up man 😄
He's a young lad, glad someone his age is doing some creative good. Wish I was half what he is.

Just wondering if this is the last cnc video
Great work keep it up
Good vid! Love it!!! I wanna look into this, it really is pretty cool.
Great video u should create a router bit rack like the one for the tools but for the different bits

looking forward to some x-carve hdpe projects

Really nice videos, keep it up. Would want to be as good of a youtuber as you are someday.
Very nice job!!!!
For the electronics maybe make a box using the the x cave?

cptblackops You can make it with a chisel or a hand held router. $5-$60 depending on what you buy.

Oh wow thats.cool
Could you do after this one another weapon vid again
Top Job!
Well done
Hey I suggest making a box to incase the power supply. It would protect it from the dude and you can organize the wires
*possibly a stupid idea*
you could get a micro atx pc to house your power suppy and the mesh fan filters would keep out the dust and the fans in the case could cool the power unit (i dont know if heat is an issue)
Get a clear plastic box make a hole in the side for the wiring and a bunch around the top for ventilation
What editing program do you use for your videos I would like to make RUclips videos of my own but I just haven't found a cheap reliable editing software. Thanks!
Drew Bransby why dont you just pirate one
Put the audino in a wooden cube structure with small mesh outsides so air can still get in
make a tower (sort of like a computer shell) for the wiring and place it under your workspace so that it doesn't get wood in it or so the wiring doesn't get damaged
I followed your link to open the file but received an error saying it had not been shared.
Good videos though. I enjoy them. Wish I could afford one.
SWEET!!
I have that same caliper and its really accurate (about a half of a thousandth off) but like all calipers it is delicate so be careful putting it in that tool holder
Build a box with a door and vents on the bottom of the box for the hardware
Hey Art of Weapons - By any chance is the X-Carve a paid product placement for this video? I am wondering because I started noticing products being advertised on videos after June 15th on a lot of different videos people put up.
What does CNC mean?
Great video though,
You could make some sort of plastic cover to contain and protect all the electrical parts.
How to make a bat knife please

Put the thing in a plastic tub with a lied and cut holes for the wires
Yo can you do a Q&A someday?
yo art of weapons can you make sunset overdrive weapons
It was my birthday on the 15th ....😜
Put a mount for it under the work bench
Would it not be easier to use your wand, Harry Potter?
I made it with WoodPrix handbooks !
please send one of your homemade weapons to zombie go boom for them to test
build a box around it :)
15 after uplaoding cool
how old are you?
Make another sword please
How old are you? You sounds young, not in a bad way though! :)
I have got to get me a CNC router.
Look at I like to make stuff The channel on RUclips he has a video on cleaning up the electronics
buy a cheap pc tower of Amazon and cram the power unit into it then use some Painless Wiring Powerbraid Wire Wrap around that messy wire harness
TypeOmeg4 also to save time on cut outs like this, raise the material up on a jig and cut the paths all the way through the depth of the material that way you only have to do a path that fallows the outlines of the shapes you want making a hole. then pre paint another piece of material black and sandwich that to the back giving you the same overall result but saving you cut time and sanding time
I was. 4 th
I made it with woodprix handbooks !
Lid sorry
First
Dust* sorry
4th
Im using woodprix instructions to make it and I do it already :)
You are talking way to fast....SLOW DOWN! :)
Looks great but as a machinist I would never leave my caliper in a spot that they could fall from. But great idea
