This is my favorite explanation of the Force in all of Star Wars canon. Spoken in a simple analogy for an innocent child somehow makes it far more profound. And Ewan’s delivery-the sadness, the earnestness and compassion on his face and in his voice-brought tears to my eyes.
@DM Master Designs yeah you're right. A lot of this show makes future interactions weird or lame. I hate that Obi-Wan and Vader fight in this show. It was way cooler when it was implied Vader was so obsessed with him he never gave up hope after 20 years that he was alive just so he could kill him. Now he has irrefutable proof he's alive and for whatever reason doesn't actively hunt him or have a legion of Stormtroopers search for him, and Palpatine is an idiot if the reason is he doesn't let him.
"It is like a cloud. A mist that drifts from living creature to creature, set in motion by currents and eddies. It is the eye of the storm, the passion of all living things turned into energy, into a chorus. It is the rising swell at the end of life. The promise of new territories and new blood. The call of new mysteries in the dark." - Arren Kae (Kreia)
Obviously they couldn't plagiarize directly from Kreia, and a young Leia might not understand her verbiage but I get chills hearing Kreia's (Sara Kestelman's) voice in my head. Such a brilliantly-written character and Sara delivered her lines with perfection. This was a good breaking down of the concept of the Force from a Jedi's perspective to a child.
Evil can only be manifested on whatever was accomplished by goodness. That's one aspect of how weak evil is. If you wanna steal an apple , you would only be able to steal it from a man who was good enough to plant a tree , grew it , and harvested it. Weak people are evil, Strong are good
@@kellymulderino7156 Where is this opinion coming from? The general consensus by the SW community is that Kenobi was decent, but there were some major plot holes as well as blatant bad script writing and cinematography (shaky cam waaay overused).

I still like Obi-Wan's description of the force in ANH. This one was good, but I wish that instead of Obi-Wan losing his connection from the force because he hasn't practiced it , he loses faith in the force because if he taps into it or uses it, he would be caught. So in essence he wants to use it, wishes to use it, but can't. It would really make the force a religion, in the beautiful vein that Rogue One showed.

This moment in Kenobi reminded me so much of when Brianna the Handmaiden asks the Exile the same question in KotOR II, though Kreia's descriptions were much more poetic. Such a great scene.
But that’s the beauty of it. The Force feels differently to everyone who touches it. Different Jedi, and Sith for that matter, interpret the Force in different ways. So both descriptions are accurate
To think, you’d given up on something you dedicated your life to, felt betrayed by it, and yet you are still able to find and remember the goodness it brought and the warmth it gave, and just by remembering that and explaining it delicately to a curious child, you have already welcomed it back into your life.
Meanwhile Vader: “have you ever woken up with the sun in your face? What does it feel like?” The confused Stormtrooper: “It annoys my eyes and wakes me up.” Vader: “it feels like that.”
Please can anyone told me are they going make a season 2 and .. can we see obi wan and this little girl and her brother too I want more childhood with obi wan spicely luke we didnt see him much and I dont want him to get old i like him when he looks like that
I watched the first 3 episodes of this show and I thought “not bad” sure it was not great but it was not terrible either, it was better than the sequel trilogy at least😎
He very much did, actually. The path of the Jedi is all about overcoming fear to find hope. Going through the darkness to find the light. He explained everything. The whole Anakin/Vader story - aka the story of Star Wars - is about a person being scared of the dark for his entire life until he finally finds the courage to turn on the light.
@@rickblaine9670 No. She asked how the Force worked. He did not in any way explain how it "worked." Yes, he said what it feels like, but that does not explain how the Force function, how you manipulate it or how you use it.
Completely agreed. He explained nothing, he tried to give an idea of how it feels, but I will ALWAYS love the explanation to Luke: "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power, it is an energy field created by all living things, it surrounds us, it penetrates us and it binds the Galaxy together"

I had tears in my eyes when this scene came on. So beautiful
not as beautiful as you.......probably

Agreed. Say what you want about TLJ but the way luke described the force was one of my favourite scenes.

Kind of long-winded, plus nobody talks like that in real life. Obi Wan's felt more appropriate.
@@alecjones4676 I agree. But KOTOR 2 was a Machiavellian work of art, so I guess you need to see it in that context.
That's why you never hear the word "Light Side" in Star Wars movies. The Force is inherently good. The Dark Side is an unnatural corruption of it.
Evil can only be manifested on whatever was accomplished by goodness. That's one aspect of how weak evil is.

Luke said "Good side" in Return of the Jedi, but you're right.
But there are some creatures who are born of and channel the force even DARK SIDE
I love the nod to "The Force Awakens"...."That's not how it works"
I have so many issues with this show, but I think this scene is just about perfect.

It would really make the force a religion, in the beautiful vein that Rogue One showed.
So then, by this logic, would that mean that the force is or is directly connected to our emotions and feelings, in this case, fear and relief?
