Hi Glen!!! thanks for sharing the unboxing ....looks like it's a pretty cool boxset and well done having all those live concerts and the audio bluray too. Cheers and be well
Glen - thanks for the show - brings back a flood of great memories. Good review of a fine lp. We saw them when they were touring that album at Maple Leaf Gardens. The Mahavishnu Orchestra was the opening act, quite a twin bill. Cheers Brian
Cool box! At some point I’d love to have a discussion with you about being a Zappa novice and how to advance. All I’ve owned was Strictly Commercial. Zappa is an intimidating catalog to try to tackle. From that box, the Cobo show seems interesting. I was at the second to last concert there before it closed. Great unboxing Glen!
Back in the seventies my brother had a couple of Zappa albums ,I had a couple of 45's of his , one was Don't Eat The Yellow Snow ,which I still think is hilareous . I got rid of all my 45's recently when I moved. I'm sure my brother still has the albums. Great video Glen for all Zappa fans.
About 25 years ago a friend visited from LA and brought a girlfriend I'd never met. During conversation she stated she was a lawyer representing the Zappa Estate and was hired to litigate against unauthorized live recordings. As I glanced towards the bootleg section of my CD collection, probably looking a bit nervous, she noted that she's "off-the-clock" now. I breathed a sigh of relief and we continued to have a nice evening. Glad to see that they're releasing some of that live audio with this anniversary collection.
My copy is due to arrive Wednesday, just in time for Franksgiving. US Amazon dropped the price to $71 on the day of release, but I had already preordered from Universal. I saw this version of the band (plus Don Preston sitting in) in March 1973, about six months before the album was released, in fact it was the day after the Hollywood show on the box set. Incredible show.
I love what Ike Turner said about the songs The Ikettes were working on. I'll bet Frank thought it was funny when people didn't "get" his art. 😁 I would have got this if there was more studio stuff. Maybe a combined "Overnite Sensation"/ "Apostrophe (')" studio box set would've been more to my liking.
I never get your videos in my subscription box and I have all notifications set. Ike Turner was an idiot... I LOVE the album and what I've heard on Spotify for the extras sounds awesome! Enjoy!
Always good to see great people happy to receive great things 🤘🏼

Wow….That would have been incredible..where the hell was I and why wasn’t I there..
Great album! I have two copies of the vinyl and the cd. He is the one artist I will buy many live albums of.
Me too..

Looks like your kind of set. Enjoy!
It appears so…
Waiting on mine. One of my favorite Zappa solo's on Montana.
It’s exciting.!!!

Those 45’s might be worth a couple of bucks now..

lol..Beat The Boots
Looks like a cool box set Glen. If they issue a version with the concert on standard DVD, I'll be happy to buy it.
The concerts are on standard CDs. The Blu-Ray is surround mixes of the album.

Happy Franksgiving❤
My favourite Zappa. I may have to bite on this one.
Oh yeah
I should be getting mine Mon or Tues
Awesome..I am going to spend Sunday listening to the four discs..

Why not? When Rykodisc issued those albums on CD they had both albums on one disc. They probably could have done a box set that way.
I am sure there will be an Apostrophe set coming next..I love the live band from that era so excited for the live stuff..
The thing is that they have already released the cream of the Apostrophe studio sessions on the Crux of the Biscuit CD.
@@michaelpdawson All the more reason for a combined set. That means even fewer fans would want an "Apostrophe (')" set.
That won’t stop them and knowing Zappa and how much material is in that vault I am sure they still have a wealth of material..@@michaelpdawson
You bastard! The Zappa store hasn’t even shipped my 3lp and cd box. Imma gonna cry😭😭
lol..The Idiot Bastard Son..
I ordered mine from importcds for $72
That price makes more sense
