You probably didn’t fully type the web address; there should be a ‘/ elevation’ at the end
Make sure when before clicking convert on GPSVisualizer you check the box that says "Add DEM Elevation data" and drop down "use best available

ik means yor cvs file is using ; instead of a comma (,) as delimiter.
there might be several problems with it as i encountered with,
-your general setting for delimeter should change whatever the text file has. comma(,), or point(.)
-based on general setting, dont forget to check your excel file settings for delimeter
-if still doesnt work ( for me it wasnt) i saved the excel file as normal excel document(.xls thing) then i used online converter to .cvs . I am not sure but i suppose that, normally in excel save as tab, it is written .cvs with comma and that might be problem. But i did all three and tried one by one, last one fixed the problem for me.

try to follow these steps.

See its simple you just need to access proper link that gps visualizer elevation , dont put file in main web page go to elevations.

Is there any way method that DOES NOT use quick grid? I'm able to generate the CSV file but working with a government agency has certain restrictions when it comes to using programs not approved by our IT department.

For everybory who's getting the message "The line at line number 1 in file does not appear to contain enough numbers" and followed all the pinned comment's steps and it still didn't work, here's the solution:
Open the .csv file with Notepad. All the numbers in the lines need to be separated by spaces or tabs (in my case, they were separated by ";").
So, in the Notepad, use the search/replace tool to replace all the ";" into " " (one space), and save the file as .csv again.
Then import it to quikgrid just as showed in the video.
For me, it worked.
It doesn't showing altitude 😢

Hello, no gps visualizer, ir na aba mais opções e selecionar "Converter em plano de texto", ele irá gerar mais opções, após selecionar o arquivo, há uma aba no último ponto escrito "Add DEM elevation data" que por padrão vem escrito não, apenas selecione "best available source".
Fazendo desta forma, o arquivo vem com a altitude melhor encontrada.

How do I get the altitude?
While you upload the input file into the GPS Visuliser, there will be a drop down menu for "add DEM elevation data". By default it would be No. You've got to select best available source and then hit convert. You'll then be able to get altitude data in the plain text file.

Elevations given by google earth are inaccurate. They are off by +/-300 ft. As a result, any contours based on them are inaccurate too.
I have error in reading input data at quickgrid. the message is:
Error interpreting number ";"at approximately line number 1 in the file (Contour lines path.csv)

I think you need to delete the first row of words. It should only contain numbers in your csv.

I'm getting an error when I try to import the .csv file. The coordinates are -38.443166668;-12.272042933;178.0 and the error is: "The line at line number 1 in file does not appear to contain enough numbers. The line contents are: -38.443166668;-12.272042933;178.0" Do you know what is the problem? negatives coordinates are a problem?

youre not saving it as the right CSV in excel. try to save as and choose CSV only
