@The Law no. Yen isn't the same as she was. In fact she is mysteriously a better person in the books and it is VERY out of character for her to not search for Geralt immadietly as she regained her memory as well as being angry with him for sleeping with Triss instead of being angry with Triss who used him. Like are you kidding me? This literally happened in the books once. Triss enchanted Geralt so he would sleep with her bc she envied Yen. Yen was only angry with Triss, not with Geralt bc she actually isn't a bitch in the canon. Triss is for some reason washed of all her sins even though she betrayed not just Geralt but also Yen and Ciri for the lodge.
@The Law Yen is no ice queen, remember that she is not 20 or 30 years old, couple lifetimes of experience is what you should see if you look at her, Triss is just a young girl in comparison who wanted something because Yen had it. Further more, you'd get bored of a Triss type submissive relationship sooner rather than later, Yen keeps him on his toes with her wit, and that is refreshing, not toxic as you describe it, further more, they didn't really agree on monogamy, quite the opposite seems to be the norm in the world described in the books, you're applying todays habits to a very different time and place. And Geralt like it or not, is quite a dumb oaf if you compare his level of education to hers, he has his set of skills where he excels, she has hers, she isn't bossing him around, she is making best out of both, Geralt knows it, that is why the dialogue between them is so funny in the game, do you think Geralt really would want Yen to follow him in the garden to look for Skjall? Or follow him into the sewers when they went to rescue Margarita? If you do, I don't think you understand Geralts character at all, he knows he will manage both of those situations on his own just fine, and he would deny any (unnecessary) help because he fears for others more than himself, he was simply teasing Yen in the dialogue, I would very much expect him to even make Yen stay out of both those excursions, if that was something he would even be able to do :P
I mean, does it really matter? I havent read the books but as far as I know it could be late in the 2020's before these things will happen in the show.
Geralt chasing the Hunt doesn't make much sense, since at the start he's at the Ravine of Hydra (in Brugge), then goes to Cintra (where he has to cross Yaruga, since Brugge is north of Yaruga and Cintra south of Yaruga). Until now it's okay. But then they say he crossed Yaruga, which was the second time and right after it's said the Hunt raced south. That's not possible, since if he was to cross Yaruga, he would cross it back to Brugge, the north. Same with the Hanged man's tree, which is in Velen, a province of Temeria, far NORTH from Yaruga and Cintra. They couldn't have gone south, since they started in Cintra and ended in Temeria (to the NORTH of Cintra and Yaruga). So why did they say the Hunt went south, when they went north?
It doesn't say he crossed the Yaruga again, only that he was at it, and he'd need to have been travelling along it if he was going from Cintra to Angren. The Hanged Man's tree they mention is south of Angren, so obviously it isn't the same one as in Velen. Also note that the Hanged Man's tree in Velen is named so because it holds deserters from both Temeria and Nilfgaard during the Third War, so it probably isn't even known as a 'Hanged Man's tree' until the war starts, which is long after Geralt and Letho fight the Hunt together here.
The truth: Basically Geralt died and Yennifer (bascially the best socceress in witcher's world and Love of Geralt's life)couldn't take it and go off on her own, she offers her life of the Wildhunt in exchange for Geralt's soul, Yennifer became Wildhunt's slave, Geralt woke up and I think thanks to the Genie's cursed that Geralt and Yennifer bound each other in a form of marriage even death will not take us apart, I think the genie told him or he found up about Yen and go to save her. Obviously, he couldn't fight the wildhunt aka death in its domain so he offered his life to serve the wildhunt for a time in exchange for Yennifer. And then he woke up near Kaer Moghen 5 years later thus begin the witcher 1 the game. As for what he did for the wildhunt I think he enables them to cross into the normal realm. Ciri needed to free because her power to travel the world is vital for the Wildhunt. The wildhunt draw the magic power from human's weakness and death and the reasons why he called Geralt his wolf and his death in the first game could be referred to the time when Geralt served him. It must take lots of bodies for the Wildhunt to cross the realm and cause the apocalypse. What did Geralt do for the wildhunt is still a mystery but I am sure that the death during the witcher game are not enough to fuel the wildhunt. It need Ciri or more death in another dimensions. it is confirmed Wildhunt and Ciri have an ability to travel between worlds and Ciri had been to Cyberpunk 2077 universe(one conversation about flying cars and guns in witcher 3).
You forgot when he cheated death by defeating it on gwent

Okay then, Ciri saves Geralt teleports him, Geralt lost his mind, and he was in the forest, Ciri teleported him there for other witchers to find and then they find and cured him, he slowly remembered everything in Witcher 1 and 2, in witcher 2 they also teach us these and witcher 3 teaches us that Ciri saved him, and that's why wild hunt looking for Geralt, cuz they think they own him
Damn there is so much Witcher lore. I've only ever played The Wild Hunt. I have so many questions. I'll onlt ask a few here though... 1. If Geralt and Yen died how in the hell are they alive now, and is The Wild Hunt the antagonists throughout all three games and you just get to go toe to toe with them in the third game or are they just a piece to the overall puzzle?
Geralt/yen dying on the island is how the books ended, at least with the implication that they died. The games pick off from the ending of the books. First game is about finding whole stole the trail of grasses equipment from Kaer Morhen (the reference it in 3 with the hole in the wall by the salamandra, and their assassins "The professor" with the glasses in Stone Hearts.) along the way you try to stop a mad-man who has the same powers as ciri from making an army of super-mutants using the trail of grasses brews. Wild-hunt appears at the end demanding his sole, which you can fight the projection or let him be taken. The Mad-man is implied to be a kid you try to protect throughout the game, it's also referenced in 3 with the book store in novigrad with the owner saying a guy came in years ago and bought a book for you, the message in the book is from him. Second game is about trying to find who framed geralt for regicide which turns out to be Letho, best witcher from the School of the Serpant. He did it to weaken the north for nilfgard, the black sun people, to invade which leads into the third game. Wild hunt only appears in the first game as specters, projections. They're only talked about in the second.
Cyco Miles the dude said he only paid the third in a series, and i've played all three and know full well anyone going into 1 in this day and age will HATE it.
Read the books that the games are based off to understand the full story. *Spoiler if you decide not to read* At that point, this was near the ending of the last book. After the long search for Ciri and finally facing Vilgefortz, the group decided to reconvene in Rivia. Geralt had headed there with Zoltan Chivay and Dandelion on their own if I remember correctly, while Yennefer and Ciri went off to make a few stops along the way. Geralt, Zoltan, and Dandelion went to a tavern in the city and met Yarpen Zigrin. There they discussed life and the journey that led them there. At that moment, Geralt decided to quit being a Witcher. Then suddenly, cries from the streets erupted and I think a man stumbled in bleeding. That's when the Pogrom against Non-Humans started. Geralt rushed outside with the sword that Zoltan had gifted to him. A couple of dwarves were being surrounded by humans and Geralt rushed in to save them. He killed a few but then was struck down by a boy with a pitchfork. Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss arrived just after this happened. Yennefer and Triss conjured a nasty lightning storm to scare off the humans and stop the riot, which it did. Then Yennefer tried to heal Geralt but he was already dead. She died of sadness right there. Then with the help of Dandelion, Triss, Zoltan, and Yarpen, Ciri moved Geralt and Yennefer's onto a small rowboat. At this moment, Dandelion thought that he saw Cahir, Milva, Regis, and Angolume helping lift their bodies as well but they weren't there. This is because all four of them died while trying to rescue Ciri from Vilgefortz's castle. Ciri got on the rowboat and rowed into a mist with Geralt and Yen's bodies and disappeared. She brought them to the Island of Avalon, it is called Avalon in the book. After leaving the island, Ciri travelled to a universe in which Camelot exists and the book series ends with her riding to Camelot with Ser Galahad. The games are not actually canon to the Witcher universe.
Nice description. But I think what Yennefer died because of magic overuse. She briefly mentioned this in the third book: if sorcerer doesn't recover magic energy, but still casts spell, magic starts to drain his life energy. Plus Dandelion didn't see spirit of Regis(this fact even made some fans (including CDPR, I guess) to wonder- maybe he survived?).
@@lastfullast8819 In books Regis has already explained to Geralt, that he cannot be killed. He will always recover from "dead status", just recovering time depends on damages of his body. That's why Regis appearance later is so possible.
He actually said, what peasants, who once destroyed him, thankfully, didn't know right methods. So I can guess, some methods to kill high vampire forever exist, and even usual peasant can use them. But of course, magic fire with "melting-stones" temperature is not a usual thing.)
That is the most likely scenario, however, Geralt was never meant to stay with the hunt, they only needed him to lure out Ciri, keeping that in mind, maybe he just served his purpose and they let him go under the pretense that he escaped.
MrShadowtruth Spoilers from TW3 The king was using Geralt and Yennefer to lure Ciri, which is why he needed them alive. Ciri eventually took the bait and rescued Geralt successfully, and dropped him off at Kaer Morhen (the beginning of TW1). The hunt doesn't want people to know anything about them, so they had memory wiped them both. Yen had recovered her memory via some other mages, but it took Geralt a bit more to recover his.
@@TigtheGreat idk i think he would be able to run away if he was getting too tired, and maybe by some chance he couldve killed them all if he was just killing without any tought they are only peasants with no skill at all

Cheer up he'll end up alright. May 19th, the day the The Witcher 3 released is my birthday. It's also the date that appears at the start of the game in Velen iirc.
@@TehIdiotOne there are atleast 5 years between them, they could definitly make a game of Geralt searching for Yennefer, finding Letho and Serrit and Auckus and searching with them, then after the battle with the Wild Hunt we see Geralt with the Wild Hunt including his escape and then witvher 1 begins.
Dan Lodder well it is explained in witcher 2 that geralt rides with the wild hunt for a time as one of their riders, then at some point he manages to escape them and is subsequently found by the other witchers near kaer morhen at the start of the first game. The King of the Wild Hunt's dialogue at the end of the game reinforces this, that he went back on his oath and tried to cheat destiny
+xellestar SPOILER ALERT!! It is also explained at some point in the Witcher 3 that Ciri was the one the aided Geralt to escape the hunt and deposited him outside of Kaer Morhen.
+xellestar so when he exchanges his soul for that of Yennefer (the end of the video), he becomes a wraith too and when he escaped he arrives at Kear Morhen and TW1 starts?
he is in the hunts service for 5 years.....we still dont know what all he did, they made him do or how it came to be that he lost his memory and how he escapes them.....but 5 years later he appears out of no where and his witcher friends find him and thats where W1 starts. hope W3 tells the tale to fill us in.....
I don't know, i like animatics, but an entire series full of only animatics like this? i don't think that would make them much money and will probably be cancelled
real jew it’s still a lot more visually interesting than simple live-action episodes. There are plenty of animated series that are also great. And if done well, it would make them money.
how did 4 witchers manage to stalemate the Hunt while they barely manage to survive the Battle of Kaer Morhen and lose Vesemir with more people and sorceress?
I would think that it ended in a stalemate because when Geralt and Letho fought the hunt, they weren’t expecting it and their primary goal was to go after Ciri. The Hunt didn’t want to kill Geralt as they wanted to use him to draw Ciri out of hiding in other dimensions/worlds. At the Battle of Kaer Morhen, they were using their full force as they were trying to capture Ciri who was also fighting at Karr Morhen, hence they were more focused and their goal was right in front of them.
I only got into W3. Never read the books or played the first 2 games. This video helped. However it seems to cut off. Is there more after this to show what Geralt does until we join him in W3?
Dan Lodder It's all in the last book of the Witcher's saga, "The Lady of the lake". The riot was born out of pure xenophobia, the villagers were suffering because of the war and decided to take it out on the non-humans. Geralt couldn't stand by and watch all those innocents lifes go to waste, so he tried to stop them. The sad thing is he had just decided to retire and stop being a witcher. It's actually one of the saddest ending I've ever read in a fantasy book.
+twiliblade he actualy survived in the books as well, Ciri has saved him with her powers somehow and at the end of the book it is clearly stated that he's alive waking up on the island of Avalon next to Yennefer.
+Kargath Bladefist (WoD) All wild hunt soldiers are elves. The shorter ones may be of lower rank which their armors are shorter or they are just simply short elves
Bruh having only played the third game makes this hella confusing but, Geralt was a member of the wild hunt prior to the series start right? He simply had his memory wiped?
the wild hunt were after ciri, and ciri had just used her powers to save geralt and yennefer after the rivia massacre. The wild hunt managed to locate geralt and yennefer due to ciri using her powers and made off with yen, hoping she would serve as bait to lure out ciri. things happen and like the end of the video stated geralt trades himself for yennefer. Apparently some time passes and The Witcher 1 starts when geralt, somehow, manages to escape the wild hunt and lands on kaer morhen's woods. Memory loss was because of the magic the hunt used on their victims
Ciri saved him i believe and dropped him in the woods of kaer morhen where the first game starts I think they mention that in the quest where you find ciri in tw3
In The books when ciri takes them to the Apple island they live alone and happy, they had all the time in the world, so I asumme that they made love everyday and since they were alone they didn't need to wear clothes :p
Ulises Pérez You can try writing this in polish ,,wiedżmin 2 cutscenki'' and turn on the automatic subs . It dont be a perfect solution but the only viable .
Wait, is this from TW2? Why do I feel like I didn't see this if I have completed the game? I guess I didn't understand a thing for some reason. Suddenly some Ciri and some Yennefer appear and then TW3 starts and you as a player don't really know these people. And what exactly is that island? Okay I completely erased this from my memory although I started playing TW3 right after TW2... Also why does it feel like you miss a lot of info from one game to the next every time? Like wtf happened? All this annoys me a lot. I felt like TW2 was about war and Geralt's backstory and past were secondary. Maybe I'm wrong, I was just expecting more of that in TW3 like in the other two games. Don't know how many hours I've been into TW3 (I'm in Novigrad now), I feel like I'm still at the beginning but so far it is nothing very interesting story-wise. I miss Iorveth :'< Where are you Saskia? Why did Geralt raise Ciri? I could spend 10 hours asking question after question... Sorry had to rant somewhere.
Aron Johansson I thought the books didn't really help since the games take place after the books but I see that Yen and Ciri do appear in them. I may give them a try I guess, although I don't really like the fact that to understand the characters fully in the games I have to read a book series because they come from there.
OwnyOne it only makes sense. And the games dont really do a good job on some characters. For example Triss and her scars or the love triangle in general.
+canelia It's not exactly clear whether they died at that time in the books as far as I remember. There was a case of a wither Coen who was stabbed in the heart (and was sure to die) but was still alive half an hour later and maybe more. Yen maybe didn't die but fainted when she was trying to cure Geralt (but would probably have died later if not from exhaustion then from grief or something). So maybe Ciri just took them at the last moment and there they healed together.
canelia Avalon in mythology is called "the healing isle" for a reason. In arthurian legend it is where king Arthur dies. The island is currently a hill called the tor in somerset
Wait, this stuff happens in the books or it's made by CDPR? Like this is after the book ending? It's before Witcher 1 where Geralt lost his memory right? So then the wild hunt gets his soul, somehow he lives, but loses his memory, then Witcher 1 begins Also, The Wild Hunt, Letho, and all of this, are not part of the books right? They're made by CDPR
Mostly right. This picks up at the end of the books and goes up until The Witcher 1 begins. However the Wild Hunt appeared previously in the books. Ciri has met Avallach and others before, their previous king (before Eredin) kidnapped her and had plans to breed with her.
No, Geralt is just recoverying his memory and all that happened is coming back. Letho just give him more details about it (and how he helped Yen) at the end of the game.
Wait, ruclips.net/video/KsdIaG66r-M/видео.html you can see 3 other witchers behind Letho and Geralt. The only others I know of is Serrit and Auckes, but who is the other?
Yeah it's a bit strange, no one ever talks about him, he was just a cliffhanger at the end of the first game. Maybe he got in this memory by accident or I don't know.
If everything goes as is, both Ciri and Yennefer will appear in The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt, which is awesome!!

Give this guy a week and he will defeat the white walkers
Still they defeated them in one night anyway, so no matter
CD Project Red need to make another Witcher game base on geralt search for yennefer.. that will be something..
Yes, this would be really interesting. I also would love to see a remake of the first game.
“I sold my soul for yeennefer”
But in Witcher 3 I chose Triss lol
Well, she is a red haired after all 😂
Well, Letho explains it better 😋
Very nice Story and beautiful animation...Love it...👍👍🤘
This is a pretty big spoiler for those watching the netflix series. If they go through the plot in the books that is of course.
All of this is in the books?
not really since none of this happens in the show
@@FeinryelRavenclaw The first one minute is kinda the finale of the last book of the saga
@@shanebrennan4008 If they continue to make more seasons, it will eventually happen in the last/second last season of it.
I mean, does it really matter? I havent read the books but as far as I know it could be late in the 2020's before these things will happen in the show.
story is so much better in the witcher 2
Makes the game look like the books.
Better than the actual Netflix show. Jesus. How many shows is netflix gonna fuck up?
Agreed. Netflix corrupts and destroys everything it touches.

And this..... ladies and Gentlemen is the Main Reason why i allways choose Yennefer. They went to Hell and Back for each other a cup of Times.
@@Jordinho99 Good points
The hanged mans tree was in the south
Gotta say, this reminds me a lot about these scenes in the Infamous games on ps3.
Ahh everything makes so much sense now hehe :D
Wow... my head is spinning that made no sense.
You forgot when he cheated death by defeating it on gwent
Okay then, Ciri saves Geralt teleports him, Geralt lost his mind, and he was in the forest, Ciri teleported him there for other witchers to find and then they find and cured him, he slowly remembered everything in Witcher 1 and 2, in witcher 2 they also teach us these and witcher 3 teaches us that Ciri saved him, and that's why wild hunt looking for Geralt, cuz they think they own him
Is it bad that I come back every day and watches this? :(
Jiří Bárta yes
Jiří Bárta yea totally weird
Damn there is so much Witcher lore. I've only ever played The Wild Hunt. I have so many questions. I'll onlt ask a few here though...
1. If Geralt and Yen died how in the hell are they alive now, and is The Wild Hunt the antagonists throughout all three games and you just get to go toe to toe with them in the third game or are they just a piece to the overall puzzle?
They are alive because Ciri.
Kind of, two games are more about Geralt getting his memory back.
For more, you'll have to play the prequels :P
Cyco Miles Thanks!
4maxsmiley You dont have to spoil mate.
Cyco Miles the dude said he only paid the third in a series, and i've played all three and know full well anyone going into 1 in this day and age will HATE it.
So, Geralt... died??
And by the hands of some peasant with a fork?
Read the books that the games are based off to understand the full story.
*Spoiler if you decide not to read*
At that point, this was near the ending of the last book.
But I think what Yennefer died because of
magic overuse.
In the games- yes. But in the book series there are some other methods.
We want a remake for this adventure
so did Geralt after selling his soul to the king of the hunt a fellow rider of the hunt? and then esacped?
That is the most likely scenario, however, Geralt was never meant to stay with the hunt, they only needed him to lure out Ciri, keeping that in mind, maybe he just served his purpose and they let him go under the pretense that he escaped.
MrShadowtruth Spoilers from TW3
The king was using Geralt and Yennefer to lure Ciri, which is why he needed them alive.

+Joshua Maldonado Y'know what? What I would really like is a prequel featuring Vezemir during his younger years, Including training a teenager Geralt.
Holy shit I need to play the 2nd one
So is there fill in for the space of time when this video ends and the start of witcher 1
Creator13 yep
he is in the hunts service for 5 years.....we still dont know what all he did, they made him do or how it came to be that he lost his memory and how he escapes them.....but 5 years later he appears out of no where and his witcher friends find him and thats where W1 starts. hope W3 tells the tale to fill us in.....
All the shits geralt do for yennefer and u still choose triss over yen in tw 3?
Yes
Pause the video at 3:20. Swamps of Sadness (Never Ending story book/film) reference?
The Netflix series should’ve been in this style and not live-action, it would be a lot more interesting
5 witchers, not 4.
I only got into W3. Never read the books or played the first 2 games. This video helped. However it seems to cut off. Is there more after this to show what Geralt does until we join him in W3?
This is before the first game.
oh so this was said in the books based before witcher 1
JonnysKia read the books*
You don't actually need to read the books as long you can play the 3 witcher games since they're all standalone to the books.
What caused the riots in the first place? And why did geralt feel the need to stop it?
Dan Lodder
It's all in the last book of the Witcher's saga, "The Lady of the lake".
Interactles.net atleast he came back thanks to the games
+twiliblade he actualy survived in the books as well, Ciri has saved him with her powers somehow and at the end of the book it is clearly stated that he's alive waking up on the island of Avalon next to Yennefer.
+Interactles.net and as I recall he had just reunited with Ciri an Yen, right?
Racism.
Question. The shorter Wild Hunt soldiers we fight in W3,are they humans that are forced into service?
+Kargath Bladefist (WoD) All wild hunt soldiers are elves. The shorter ones may be of lower rank which their armors are shorter or they are just simply short elves
I do believe the Rivia incident happened in June, not September (in the books anyway)

@@marcusson1983 Thanks!
Bruh having only played the third game makes this hella confusing but, Geralt was a member of the wild hunt prior to the series start right? He simply had his memory wiped?
No he was not a member of wild hunt ever they are elves from another world
the wild hunt were after ciri, and ciri had just used her powers to save geralt and yennefer after the rivia massacre.
Many of those questions will be answered in game as you play.
I really hope so.
OwnyOne just pick up the books
Aron Johansson I thought the books didn't really help since the games take place after the books but I see that Yen and Ciri do appear in them. I may give them a try I guess, although I don't really like the fact that to understand the characters fully in the games I have to read a book series because they come from there.
OwnyOne it only makes sense.
And the games dont really do a good job on some characters. For example Triss and her scars or the love triangle in general.
I don't get it. How come they are alive on the island if they died at Rivia?
Maybe ciri use her power to heal them. Or the island has powers to heal them. I dunno just guessing
pryt86 She should have healed/taken all her dead friends there then...
canelia maybe it was too late for the rest. I dunno id have to look that up and see whats up with that. Im not clear on it either
The island is currently a hill called the tor in somerset
how is the artist of the videos??
Wait, this stuff happens in the books or it's made by CDPR? Like this is after the book ending? It's before Witcher 1 where Geralt lost his memory right?
So then the wild hunt gets his soul, somehow he lives, but loses his memory, then Witcher 1 begins
Also, The Wild Hunt, Letho, and all of this, are not part of the books right? They're made by CDPR
Mostly right. This picks up at the end of the books and goes up until The Witcher 1 begins. However the Wild Hunt appeared previously in the books. Ciri has met Avallach and others before, their previous king (before Eredin) kidnapped her and had plans to breed with her.
