      Quite fitting actually that Philippa was the founder of The Lodge because she's Bi/Lesbian and in Witcher 3 she stated that she found people who don't mix their personal life with politics boring which means she simply enjoys the tension when the sorceresses can't agree on something.

      @Ivan Exell Don’t get me wrong, Witcher 3 is an amazing game in a lot of aspects. Every character is crazy well written, the side quests, combat and world building are second to none, but that story is utter horse shit (especially if you played Witcher 2). You rarely ever feel like you are genuinely progressing the story in Witcher 3, most of it feels like any other side quest and the over arching enemy doesn’t feel that scary. In Witcher 2 the Wild Hunt is talked about like they are literal gods who can’t be stopped. And Witcher 2 ends with Geralt saying he was going to take on said gods. Imagine my disappointment when I find that Witcher 3 turned the Wild Hunt into nothing more than an elite hunting squad.

    • @the1ghrol
      @the1ghrol 3 года назад +5

      @Ivan Exell if you think Witcher 3 has a better story than Witcher 2 then you either haven’t played Witcher 2 or you are just an idiot. In terms of plot, character development, actively making decisions that impact the story and world around you. The Witcher 2 comes out on top in every one of those categories. (If you insist on saying the Witcher 3 has a better story can you at least explain why?)

    • @vladi1Z
      @vladi1Z 3 года назад +5

      @@the1ghrol You do realize that the Wild Hunt being an 'elite hunting squad' contrarily to the common belief was already established in the books way before the games, right? The Witcher 3 stayed loyal to the books and it is a good thing.
      Seems like your disappointment has more to do with your ignorance of the source material rather than the 3rd game's writing...

    I really love the way they took with Triss on this plot, and I would argue this was her strongest point in the plot where she became the most intersting char to me. She is not as strong as she wants to believe herself to be, and really wants to trust the things she hopes to built, but it comes back at her because she is not careful enough or don't see the full things around her. In the end she ends up pushing for greater good without checking fully the details... complicated thinking and attitude which she is able to grow from along the second and third game. Plus gotta love the troll fall in love with her part XD

      I think its the opposite. She's stronger than she gives herself credit for. She jealous of Yen and admits she will never be like her. Which is fine, she's better off not being an entitled, self absorbed bitch. But she's crafty, clever and one of the most powerful mages ever. And if you let her get tortured in TW3 you see how tough she is and how much she can endure before going apeshit on everyone. Aside from that though I agree with about everything you said. She grows and matures, learns from her mistakes and becomes a better person. Way more of a deep, interesting and flawed character than Yen is

He wasn't humiliated either, if that interrogation hadn't happened Geralt would have been killed as a kingslayer. Dunno what choice you made but I wasn't captured by Nilfgaardians, I allowed it to see Shilard. As for QTE deaths they aren't canon lol your only good point was the Dethmold fight, it was weak writing to ensure Geralt would see Saskia as the dragon.

      loafhero and the point is he is still stacked in witcher 2 even if it is less than witcher 3. Yeah and Geralt can reply with a witty remark to that. He is less worried than Roche expects him to be. Yeah Shilard orders Geralt dead, doesn't mean if Roche didn't interfere that Geralt wouldn't have got out of it anyway. Witcher 3 didn't have QTEs at all in cutscenes which was a better choice tbh but they were easy so if you fail them you deserve an embarrassing death, my favourite being falling off the dragon lol

Re-establishing the Conclave makes sense, since they appear to have been a responsible governing body for mages, but the Lodge?? And why is everyone in TW3, including Geralt and Triss, so anxious to protect Phillipa and keep her out of Radovid's hands? I've called her degrading names to vent my rage too many times to count, same goes for Yen, Roach, Ciri, Geralt.... All the characters names get replaced with "useless cunt" when steeped in annoying gameplay. xD Its not just Triss.

    Why does the author hate these games? I am aware that he doesn't like that Geralt survived the wild hunt at the end of the book series, but that can't be the only reason. Right?

    • @naughtydog201
      @naughtydog201 5 лет назад +6

      Jesse A I think it may be resentment. His books ended on a particular note yet the games then ignored that ending and started Geralt's journey once again, becoming extremely popular in the process. But it's quite alright in my view. People may have their views

      A simple reason is that author, Andrzej Sapkowski, didn't expect any success when he sold rights to CDPR. He charged only once not a big amount of money. AND when games became popular (The witcher 1 had sold over 1 mln copies) he realised he was left with almost no profit from it.

    Witcher 2 was soooooo good. I personally liked it more than Witcher 3. Before CDPR jumped on the open world bandwagon. Don't get me wrong, Witcher 3 was good, but Witcher 2 just felt much more engaging and immersive.

    • @Daisy_3011
      @Daisy_3011 5 лет назад

      Yeah, each witcher game have it's own strenghts which CDPR made a great job of highlighting. In all honesty though I wish Witcher 2 was a bit longer, like Witcher 1 perhaps, but would it be as strong game then if it was dragged on for longer I'm not sure. It's a great bridge between W1 and W3.

    • @CanIHasThisName
      @CanIHasThisName 5 лет назад

      I strongly disagree. I almost gave up on the second game halfway through. Way too linear and very monotonous. While I can understand why that would be more appealing to some, I personally consider it the worst instalment of the series and that's taking into account the horrendous combat system of the first game.

      texteel - Witchers have each other’s backs? Geralt saved Letho pre-game (flashback) and Letho got Yen to safety in Nilfguard. Geralt getting blamed for Foltest’s death was about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Letho did not plan on framing Geralt. Morally speaking Letho is no better or worse than other Witchers. Even the regicides were done for the promise of restoring the school of the Viper...and understandable motive if one is committed to the vocation.
