This video takes a look at the career of Lance McGrew, a crew chief who found himself in the difficult position of leading Dale Earnhardt Jr's team in 2009-2010, Dale Jr's worst season. Unfortunately for McGrew, Junior's rabid fans blamed him for the failure, despite his entire body of work in NASCAR showing that he was vital to Hendrick Motorsports' success in the 21st century.

Yeah Keith Rodden has never been good. McGrew was ok outside of his time with Junior but being Jr’s crew chief invited a lot of hate

@gunsmokestunes5225 Then how the hell does Dillon have a Truck and Xfinity title and only one of 5 or 6 to be the pole sitter of the 500 as a rookie and 4 cup wins all those stats would be impossible for someone who "can't drive" and before you go all those wins were just luck only 1 of those was from outside forces which was rain and even if you want to call the other 3 lucky luck is a massive part of racing just take Jerry Nadeau for example

Lance was just AWFUL with Jr. Terrible cars. Terrible calls. Terrible radio etiquette. Imstant change once Steve took over!
