Is your engine still doing ok, what boost are you running. Ive been told multiple times that everything above 15psi would eventually break the crank. Have you a dyno sheet ? Thanks in advance.
i should be doing doing in a few weeks ive have my boost cut on at 10lbs, theres alot of people that push limits on d series engines , iam running a stock cranck still holding up strong, im shooting for a 400-500 range but my whole motor is build only stock is the trans , my fuel lines are upgraded as well to 4an's line. ive over boosted to an thank god it still hasnt send to the moon
from what i have learned the crank isn't the weakest point its the cylinder walls cracking after 400hp all tho i have run 30psi threw my built y8 with stock cylinder walls and so far am ok but i also have a block guard definitely need to run a d16z6 crank tho best for a d series
Hey that was a pretty badass video!! I have d16y5 needs rebuilt and want a turbo. The engine is old knocking leaking and burning oil. Wish me good luck any pointers or tips appreciated
for turbo id recommend doing upgrade oil pump, Get some eagle rods and vitara pistons bang for your buck you can get the kit for around 400-600 bucks Polish you crank and check its still good also your bearing clearence
@@underestimatedgarage well I've helped pull a 4G 63 engine for my Mitsubishi but haven't swapped it yet. Now my Civic is starting to have problems so I need to get the engine rebuilt and drive the Mitsubishi with 4g64. I am learning and excited to build both my cars 😉

i did mine on my own until i change it to a top mount with a hood exit , when it was bottom mount i just did a hood dump first weeks ran it with no hood, than i did a bumper exit for a long time
I just got a turbo for my d16y7 I have the full kit they are charging me 3k to install it I feel like I can install it myself but I'm not sure wat type of problems I can run into by doing it myself?

People underestimate the D Series because of stock form. Aftermarket support HUGE: Forged Pistons, Rods, Sleeves, etc.. Can easily boost it over 400hp
thats facts with the right tuner, right fuel and good build you can even make more depending on how deep your pockets are

i used rustoleum Satin black but no primer i used two cans of clear coat & i added my own flake by hand

3k to install? now thats alot they doing a base map tune atleast with it?
i can help you out its not hard to install
2200 for installation plus 1500 for ecu,hondata,jumper harness,chipping and injectors

The VMS gear for sohc is true and quality. I use it for my d series 18 psi 4000 miles hard boosted and still eating vettes..
