all i can say is just Wow. that chord progression has some of the most beautiful chords in it and you play them so well. wish you lived at my house so i could learn to play like that lol. keep playing and keep enjoying it.
Hey Kerry. I've been playing the guitar for a few years but have been struggling to progress or remember anything that I practice. I thought I just needed to play more, so I spent hours and hours trying to force-study scales, songs and solos. Everything changed when I signed up to your Kamp. I've literally only got up to the Number system vids and it has unlocked everything. No more guesswork here - theory really is the answer. Thanks for breaking the scales and chords down so simply. I'm really looking forward to seeing how I progress this year 😎
That is absolutely gorgeous stuff, man! 🙏🏼❤️🙌🏼 Beautiful thank you Just a request here brother, could you possibly break down any Bobby Womack songs in the near future? Seems like that would be perfectly in your wheelhouse ya know? Anyway thanks as always for the great video Blessings!
You know how when you do a barre chord across the first 3 or 4 bottom strings and then use your ring finger to fret certain individual notes to play a riff or maybe a lead solo? What technique is that called?
Very harp like progression. sounds great. My only problem is when you "branched out" the chord progression with the D minor 9 and G7. Those chords are so unorthodox, I have no idea when and where I could use them in relation to another song. They sound awesome but they are unfamilar to me even after over a decade of playing. How do they correlate to the familiar minor and major 7s that are commonly used in most run of the mill R&B songs?
Those Dmin9 and G7 in the key of G major are borrowed chords.this is called modal interchange, when you borrow a chord from a parallel key or mode. The 5min, 1dominant, 4min, b3maj, b7dominant are some of the commonly used borrowed chords from parallel modes like Mixolydian and Aeolian(parallel minor). By far, the most common borrowed chords you will come across are between the major scale and a parallel minor scale. I think these borrowed chords are used frequently by jazz, RnB and Gospel players. You need to have a good understanding of music theory to recognize those chords and apply them into your playing.

just look up secondary dominants. its pretty much the most important topic if you want to "get out of key" a bit
