I was telling my wife this morning that when I first came across your page and subscribed 3-4 years ago, I got frustrated because your stuff was over my head and I couldn't quite wrap my brain around it...followed a couple other cats at the time and over the last couple years I've progressed but was hitting a plateau...ironically, your videos started popping up in my feed again about 2-3 months ago...the way it started instantly clicking was crazy and I've been strictly looking for your stuff everyday since...rushing home to practice right after work and even my wife has remarked on how much different I sound from the mechanical way I was playing the last couple years...thank you for being an amazing teacher and sharing your gift with us 👊🏾🎸🔥
Same for me as far as when I first started, I was like “he’s dope but I can’t do this!” A year later I’m at least able to follow along a little bit now! A year, one month in and 8 guitars later! 😂 Yeah I kinda went crazy 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 well three where gifts
@@tyeames1903 already knowing...my schedule has been crazy and I didn't want to sign up and not be able to commit like I want to for the price...but I'm sure it's worth it 👊🏾🎸
@jayedevan567 I know what you mean i got a family myself. If you already playing for 2 or 3hrs a week its a definitely. But most importantly i think he still got that free trial too bro if that interest you.
Just came across this site in my feed (bassist reinvigorating his 6-string chops) and appreciating the voicing shortcuts here lots! It’s in the spirit of this that I wanted to bring your attention to a couple things noticed here: @ 2:38 you’re playing a Cmaj9(no 5) but the affixed chord diagram, if I’m reading it set correctly, plots a C#7/B out and not the desired chord shape that’d produce the former, same happening with the Amin11 @ 2:53. Chord diagram shows an Amin7(no 5) with another flat7 G (lol add14?) included higher on the E string which you’re pulling-off into, not Am11 which would have the 11th-interval D being fretted by your index on the B string in that position.
Great lesson. I like progressions to sink my teeth into. That hammer on wit the Maj9 is tricky. I usually play the m11 wit my 1st finger on the B string, so that'll take some sdjustments. Great vid once again. S/b: you may want to rock one of those clip on mics so the sound is consistent throughout. 🫡🫡
Really enjoying your new approach to your recent lessons which I'm finding much easier to follow and digest. Also the video quality looks amazing as well so big ups for that as well! I'm really re-excited about it all so big thanks!!
That really opened my eyes! I was doing a Bar type or C shape in that position and it sounds Boring! Now I know this shape, It's Totally movable and I'm definitely glad to see these moves! Thanks Keep it coming Sir!
Kerry, Great lesson! I just wanted to note that the you play the C Maj9 chord different from what you have displayed in the pictured chord graph. You play C-D-A-D in your fretting hand (a Hammer-on between the B and A), but have C-(f#\ gb)-A-D displayed in the chord graph. Am I reading it correctly?
Hi Kerry. not sure if I'm missing something but on the Cmaj 9 are you playing the D open string, or are you barring on the G string to get the hammer on from the B note on the G string.
I don’t know why but my brain won’t let it go. The A-11 is not an A-11 it’s just an A minor with two b7ths…. He’s hammering a G note not a D… Love the lesson tho! Also sweet hat 👍🏻
Nice video, please place the shotgun mic overhead pointing towards you and against the guitar amp to achieve best voice over quality, avoid talking and playing at the same time or just simply overdub your voice over on top of the guitar audio, that would really help with video editing as well as offering the best audio experience to viewer.
Nice lesson however I noticed a lot of these guitar lessons on RUclips the instructors move fast they need to slow down on the techniques. I got it because I play bass but they are people who need to see it closer up in slow steps.
Am a bass player, as great as you are at what you do! could you by away, guild me, if possible to a good bass channel That you may know? it would be a great help, I am staying subbed to your page, because guitar still inspirers me very much. Salute from UK🔥🔥
@@Kerry2smooth Totally understand- my family has a home studio too and getting things dialed always takes a sec! My laptops a little old so it might not even be you. Love the lessons and appreciate you sharing your knowledge!

Working on it! Thanks!
Bro you should write a Ted Greene type book. One like “chord chemistry” or “modern chord progressions”. I would definitely buy that.👀🤌🏿

amin11 means you need to include the 11, and that voicing does not have that note bro. THANKS FOR YOUR AMAZING WORK!
Thats a nice PRS bro.
Thanks!
I don’t know why but my brain won’t let it go. The A-11 is not an A-11 it’s just an A minor with two b7ths…. He’s hammering a G note not a D…

Playing those jazz voicings
Is the volume on his voice really low for anyone else?
Could be, but we're in the process of correcting...hope you understand...lots of new changes to the studio

When he moves boom and is out of cone of shotgun mic. Raise stand and use a boom and place overhead. Out of the way and consistent coverage.
Thanks for the feedback...video was recorded a while ago. We already have a plan to take care of it.
