You skipped $200-$300. That is the entry point for many into the world of automatics. So no Bambino Seiko 5 or Kamasu on the list then?
I agree, I was really hoping to see his favorite in the $300 range as a lot of us operate in that space. Enough that you have to save a little and think a little more, but not enough to make you feel remorse after slapping down your debit card. FWIW I just received my Erebus Origin, and for $300, all I can say is DANG!
Yea, huge miss not mentioning Seiko 5.
Totally agree, 200-300 is the starting budget for many beginners! Agree w the kamusu, bambino & seiko 5s!
kamasu > turtle
Also the 1,500$-2,000 ish area. I think that’s something we could get if we really wanted it. Save up a long time and snag it at last like a bass boat or an engagement ring. Something to do as a milestone
Thank you Andrew for being you. I just won £30 with this video, as my poor uneducated friend bet me I could not name two watches on this list. I took that bet quicker than a Rolex dealer laughing at me as I walk into a store hoping to buy a watch. The words twelve and bel canto left my lips so fast I was hardly aware it happened. To show this victory off I have ordered a Casio Royale so I can remind him of his defeat each time I wear it. ❤️
It’s true, I’m predictable 😅
@@AndrewMorganWatches or you have great taste and both are stunning watches and insane at their price point 🤷🏼♂️
Happy purchasing your Casio Royale. I have one too but I'm utterly disappointed that Andrew forget to mention the Casio Pacman. Ooooh yeah, that's such a nice watch... shame it doesn't play Pacman. Anyone remember those Casio game watches from the 80s? That was the watch industry at its peak.
@@AndrewMorganWatchesYou talked me in to buying a Rolex Oyster Perpetual.
I plan on wearing it to my high school reunion 😅
You are the best -- from the substance to the vocabulary to the subtle and not-so-subtle humor and plays on words! Thank you for making learning fun.
Thank you!
@@AndrewMorganWatcheshe’s not the Lord Byron in lifestyle, but in watch reviewing? He’s writing his Cantos in.
$50 should be the Casio Duro.
Anyone agree?
I'd pick the Casio world time
The writing for these videos is top notch!
The mix of sarcasm, humor, and knowledge that are dropped is an amazing combination!
I love that H. Moser & Cie Streamliner and have wanted one ever since it was first announced. Moser basically took my dream watch (their Streamliner) and then read my mind on how they could make it even better (make it a bit smaller/thinner, include a micro-rotor, and give it a beautiful fumé Grand Feu enamel dial).
Now if only I had ~$34k to spend on it...
My wife and I had our 20th anniversary in the middle of Covid. Having our holiday cancelled we took the $$$ and bought a pair of Oyster Perpetuals (Blue for me, Salmon for her) for each other. Looking back I think we made a much better investment than that week long cruise. For our next anniversary now I need to find some ham flavored milk to give her.
Ham flavoured milk will only make a wise decision ever wiser
My wife and I got matching OPs (41mm and 32mm both silver dial with gold hands)
They are amazing and by far our favorite out of the collection. I initially thought it would be third tier in my collection, but I constantly have to remind myself to take out my other watches on occasion.
@@chrisx1138 This is the most cringe self-congratulatory online preen I've read for a while. "I initially thought it would be third tier" made me feel so sorry for you and your need to pretend you are incredibly wealthy
10,000 would most certainly have to go to the Glashutte Original PanoMatic Lunar.. for me!
My favorite watch as well. I'll never have one, but dreams are good for the soul.....
The effort you put on photography, script, story telling, vocabulary, voice modulation, anecdotes and idioms is commendable.
Keep up the excellence mate.
Thank you for bringing such great insight into this mastercraft.
That quartz GS is great looking.
But doesn't look starburst?
Or sunburst even....
Also exists in 37mm with a slightly different blue (more purple): sbgx265 (or sbgx065 with seiko brand)
@@garyquartley1084 It has an inky deep blue sunburst that doesn’t look like the brighter and more silvery sunburst I see on many other dials. The “burst” itself is still a pure blue color, and depending on lighting the dial can look glassy or silky with a cloudy glow to it instead of the grainier texture and less saturated burst color a lot of sunburst dials have. It’s understated but also one of the reasons I like it since I thought a lot of blue sunburst dials look too cold or flashy to me.
Rather Interesting indeed! One of my favourites would have to be a Reverso on which the second face is a clear case back display of the movement or that lovely skeletonised chronograph - or something like that!
I agree ❤
I love my expensive watches (Rolex, AP etc). But for most things, my titanium eco drive citizen is my go to. Light, accurate and very neutral in looks. It is the watch I wear at night in a bad area. If I get mugged, I will just hand it over.
I feel the same that’s why I gravitate towards wearing my Tudor most of the time.
@@jakealexander6046 I would still probably stand and fight for a Tudor. I can be dumb and stubborn and that's still a valuable watch.
@@happydogg312 Sadly I am not rich, I just love watches. My car is a 13 year old economy hatchback.
Sadly, the eco drive still has a battery.
You could also use the Eco drive as a blunt weapon, love my Pro Master enough to fight for that one.
You’re the best. Love these selections and I’d likely have a JLC, an A Lange or FPJourne in there too. CW is my favorite brand at the moment. Waiting on my bel canto. I got the white lume dial PRX for $250 new and I couldn’t be happier.
3:14 your “first” analogy actually made me laugh.
It’s got everything you need to stay safe watching documentaries about diving on telly 😂 respect
Keep up the good work, Andrew, I really enjoyed your witticism and choice!
I appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. Truly laughing out loud. Entertainment at its best!
The inexpensive selections were quite interesting. I’m going to construct my own list.
Legitimately surprised A Lange & Sohne didn't appear here!
Totally agree. He'd rather have a Daytona than an A Lange? 😱
Exactly for someone who goes on and on about dial quality, and then didn’t even mention A Lange…fail
He’s still detoxifying from years at watchfinder
True
Favourite doesn't mean better.
I am so glad the Bel Canto is on this list. I am getting the black (Nero) one scheduled for delivery next month, but I am thinking if I should go for Omega seamaster 300 instead
Love your humorous quips. Thanks for the laughs!
That Seiko’s been turtling in my mind for a while
😂
Get it. I got one and love it.
Great video as always. I hope you make a video where you compile a list about entirely obscure watches that most enthusiasts have no idea they exist, A video without the usual brands for a change. Would love to hear your take on it. keep up the good work.
I’ll make em if you watch em!
Great concept video
That was excellent. More please.
You have great writing and storytelling style. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Vianney Halter deep space tourbillon is my favourite watch. Its an engineering stunner.
The problem with the Bel Canto and MB&F (besides being homely) is that the actual dials are too small to read at a glance. One of my main criteria's for a watch is that it's relatively easy for me to tell the time.
i loved it. great script, amazing value.
Love the Streamliner!
Just picked up my favourite ever watch at any price....a 2020 Speedmaster 1861, hesalite... along with the G shock, this is all the watch I ever wanted (not an exaggeration, I'm 5 years and about 20 watches in... bought and sold most of those until I realised that the Speedy is just the one....personal opinion but on a leather deployant strap... find me something that has as much charm, the same beauty, history and timelessness.... not much else gets me like this one)
@@Bu-22 for sure. I'm loving the Speedy more and more every day
Great video mate!!
This was fun. In the under $100 I would have a Casio Duro in there somewhere but other than that, all seem great. Live the Bel Canto and that GS!
I would also include Farer in the 1000 Euros category
Good guidance.
Wow, from 100 tot 500, must be real difficult to find a nice, steel, automatic watch at that price point? O no, just had a look in my watchbox.
Surprised the seiko skx gmt didn't get a look in at sub 500. my cw 12ti in blue is a stunning watch my 1st none dive style watch.
Congratulations and wish you well on your new adventure. Will continue to support you because I enjoy your channel, your content has substance and is educational. Keep it coming.
Daytona? Really? Personally, the JLC Master Chronograph Calendar.
PS: totally agree for the Moser.
Agree, it's the JLC Master Calendar. Full Stop!
JLC for me is a missed opportunity. Everything is mirror polished. Looks cheap tbh.
Great video man, im willing get prx seiko but you changed my mind
The Casio MQ24 is a very good watch. I love it so much I bought one for my son too.
I love the Oyster Perpetual...🤷♂️. Amazing video!
It’s kinda perfect for what it does
@@davkirk8741 Indeed!
Good work on your channel, man. Question. Do you use a DBX286?
Thanks for this spot on .
All very fine watches Andrew Morgan !!!
I haven't heard of the Chritopher Ward The Twelve before and I may have been better off before because WOW, that's a beautiful watch. And I thought I'd just get the Tsuyosa or the PRX as my "integrated bracelet" watch
I love how your true sense of humour pops up now in your videos since you are now master of your domain.
My personal fave for $500 (£345 ) is the Seiko Prospex PADI Solar SNE 549 P1. Duper watch for the money, and no need for winding, a rocker or batteries. Its been my go to watch now for 3 years, and leads a hard life.
I have owned a real Rolex White Face Daytona, but i was scared to wear it, so sold it last year for a £6k profit.....
I have one of those million dollar watches! No wait hold on. I just checked. It's the $10 Casio.
Hey Andrew! Loving the new channel! Can you please add chapter markers to your videos, especially this one?
Smiling from ear to ear. Your writing is epic, Andrew.
Well, I guess I am not the only one to have an anesthesiologist rocking a Rolex. I was getting ready to be put under for an implant and looked over and quipped "A Milgauss the sleeper Rolex." To my amazement, this prompted an almost ten-minute discussion about how he came to have that specific watch and what if any watches I had. This really put my mind at ease as I went lights out for the next five hours. One day, I'd love to add one to my collection.
Thanks for the feature!
I expected Moser to make your list at the $20k mark, the Daytona was definitely a surprise. I do very much love everything you've chosen from $30k and up. I might have figured out a way to squeeze a Voutilainen decimal repeater in there, though.
To be far, that Moser Streamliner is closer to $20k than it is to $50k (since it's ~$34k).
The most soothing voice on RUclips! Eloquent and colourful use of the English language with a classy British accent, not to mention knows a heck of a lot about watches. ❤your review. 🍉 🍉 🍉
Thanks Andrew.
Yes, there's nothing like an 'expert'!
I have the first two watches on the list and wear them regularly. They're both nice, simple, basic designs and, as they say, does the job.
I love your humor Andrew!
Wow! A fabulous grouping Andrew. Well done mate.
Thanks very much!
FP Journe would have been a nice addition to this video.
Love the Alabama line.
The best copy on any watch chat channel. Cracking deadpan delivery of good jokes and replete with information and option.
At my work we have wall clocks everywhere, but no date, so a date is essential for my daily watch. But weekend’s and vacations, I love to not know the date 🙌🤷♂️
I want the twelve and bel canto!
Love my Tiffany Blue Casio, but for $50 the Duro is superior in quality with a Stainless Steel case, and the same Miyota 2115 Quartz movement.
I don't dive any more so why on Earth would I want a Duro? They're too big for every day wear and not exactly a fashion statement.
Love the Omega Moonwatch ❤
'm leaning towards the CW twelve, but I can't decide between the 40mm colors. Which color do you think is the best?
I chose the titanium blue on rubber! There’s some more colours out since I got mine
I wanted to, until I realized it's a poor man's clone of the czapek antarctic
The commentary is better than ever. Brilliant move to go solo. Perfect timing.
The tone of your voice and the witticism of your flow, plus the unbelievable close-ups of the vid, are always a delightful combo. Next video please!
Thank you!
@@AndrewMorganWatchesBetter than sex. Right, Andrew? We see what you’re doing under the covers.
Such a fantastic video even if I didn't agree with all the choices. I would've just added the Casio Royale at the $25 level.
"My favorite color is grey, my favorite flavor is plain" got me rolling 😂😂😂
Dear Andrew, once again: ok for the LM 101 but I prefer the Palladium one ;))))
Hello Andrew there are Speedy with Hesalite front and sapphire back . It has a brown dial too sometimes and were available new as late as 2021. Maybe have to search one on preowned market now . I was very close to buying it but then something else happened and the other 5 alphabet brand came in. I have the traditional hesalite one but wanted one with open caseback . You know to have one on bracelet and the open caseback one on strap. Then I realized I am not that rich and had to get a sub
Hooray, I have two of these already - the first two.
Great subject
“Ham-flavored milk” had me choke a bit on my water at the office. Never thought of that before 😂
Chronographs- as much as I like the Speedmaster, it’s just too big for this member of the IBWC. So the Daytona it is, though I don’t know if I could justify the price.
Another great video!
AM- I can listen to you talk all day… you are too darn clever! 😜
Thank you 😁
That white dial, two tone Daytona is fire. I'm supposedly on the list for it.
Thank you for making this video
Thank you for watching!
great video my dude.
Loved the Video and the presentation! It really seems like the watches are your personal pick and not "good suggestions at the price"
Well done!
Appreciate $ increments, hope you did a pound video. Strange, I thought your favorite color was clear. Hmmm.
Clear! I’m not a hippy
Dreams can be so serious, can't they. Thank you for your touch of inimitable humour.
Andrew and his bel canto…he chimes in about it every hour on the hour
Brilliant! ❤ Moser..
I would LOVE to have a Belle Canto.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this video. Oh, wait, yes I can. I enjoyed it an awful lot.
"... all things calculator and piano..." I always used to use a Casio calculator with deg/min/sec functions to add up hours/min/sec for seeing if mixtape playlists would fit on one side of a C90, and my daughter's piano is a Casio. Also, I'm wearing an A168 at the moment. 😀 Shoot, you could've gone for the Casio hat trick and picked the MTP4500D-1AV for the $100 level (it's enough under that you could throw in the MQblahblah and still beat the century mark. It's the least expensive slide-rule-bezel analog chrono you'll ever lay your hands on and you'll love it 'til you can scrounge the scratch for a Navitimer. 😀
You're ticking all the boxes this time around, at least at $500. My wife is named Susan and she'd definitely lack approval for my dropping half a grand on a wristwatch.
You’re awesome and funny dude!! Cheers!😂
You are a riot with your writing!
Hi Andrew! Thnx for being my favorite watch yt channel. It’s a great and beautiful selection. But I would have put the most spectacularly beautiful and spectacularly boring watch ever on the list as well: the Credor Eichi II :)
Thank you for watching!
That shot at Alabama was 🌶️🌶️
I like that you jumped straight over $200/$300 because 1000 other videos on RUclips will tell you to get a seiko5 or a prx. Thanks.
Interesting and amusing video as usual. Question, why are the brackets in dollars rather than pounds?
The human engineering and making of that last watch is quite extraordinary. Explaining the cost in terms of cost per hour is a pertinent method of driving home the reason for its cost.
I’m surprised you didn’t go for a Richard Mille
I can’t argue with any of your choices they’re all good
Except for the Daytona. Na not for me
that turtle bit lmaoooo
You get a subscribe for the simple fact that you MUST be supported. I don’t get care if you lost your voice and went into a permanent vegetative state. The watch community owes you that.
Except the unobtainium Daytona, at 20K I would just replace it with far more superior Glasshutte Original Perpetual Calendar with Leap year ! Today is just that!
OMG, this was hillarious! I can barely get to the level of 1000 USD, but last 2 ones are beyond reality! Thanks for such a entertaining video!
Wow! I don’t mean to disappoint, but how about how right you are! Thanks once again, Andrew for an entertaining and educational piece.
