When Peggy Mitchell left EastEnders, people were saying "She is EastEnders". Peggy Mitchell is not EastEnders, it's Pauline Fowler and Pat Butcher are EastEnders!
The history between these two being warring ex sister in laws makes the scene all the more moving. You don't have touching scenes like this anymore in 'Enders because of all the flash in the pan characters and bland actors.
Great classic scene from something so simple . it really showed Paulines good quality s here and great writing. looking at this scene and Paulines last scenes before her death in 2006 where she became nasty and irritable really showed a character mock from the writers she deserved a more dignified exit. I hope they do that with Pat when she leaves
