+code:x gaming yeah, used. most people don't trust used and for console most have to buy a TV, more controllers if you have freinds, games (games on PC are often cheaper due to lots of sales), you also have less personalization and storage on a console. now don't get me wrong, I was nothing but a console kid for 5 years but there are ups and downs to consoles and PCs.
You do know that consoles require a TV (generally a larger one is preferred, meaning more $$$) you can get a 4k monitor on the cheap (true 4k, not some up-scaling bullshit), for less than a normal living room TV, easily. The potato masher (a very good budget PC) outclasses consoles at a similar price. You also have to pay to have online, along with the internet (which personally caused me to build my PC). You can very well get a extremely cheap set of mouse and keyboard, and they work just fine. It's not fancy, but hey, it works. However, I do agree on you with optimization issues. This is due to the fact that there are so many different parts that can go into a computer, where as a console only has one type of setup. Meaning, it's so much easier for a game developing team to optimize the game to its fullest potential. This potential isn't as evident on the PC. Seeing as there's such a large variety of parts available to use.
You can buy a used PC for under $20, and upgrade it from there. This could eventually lead to a great PC that can be used to play games on, if you put some time and effort into it. Meaning, you could hunt for deals on things, and buy them on the cheap. This could lead to a much cheaper system then normal.

code:x gaming don't ever buy used shit. $300 PC won't do a thing so glorify, but a $400 can, specially there is a g4560 and a gtx1050 combo that can be the ultimate console killer for its price. PC games are cheap and we dont have to pay for online access. we have access to game graphical options to achieve the best performance, plus we can mod games like skyrim and fallout with awesome character presets and ENB to solve Ubishit downgrade graphics. and most of all we have choices to run at different resolution (1080p,1440p,4k,or even 8k if you have a nasa pc) and achieve 60+fps unlike your filthy xbox. sorry to say but, PC is a master race 😉
^ I agree entirely. However, a $300 PC is perfectly capable. I have a $250 PC that i built for the hell of it, and it works fine. It was before the GTX 1050 however, so unfortunately I don't have that. But, it still works fine. I have to turn the resolution down a notch, and some graphical options but it works completely fine on some games. Though, with a limited amount of RAM I do experience a few frame drops.
If it helps, you can unlatch the front cover from the top of the console case. Snap the top of the case back on lining up and pushing straight down. It goes in easily. Then just engage the bottom of the front bezel, swing it up and after inserting the locking tabs under the top cover just push it in until they latch. It makes it so much easier!

For that 640$ nowadays you can get a decent aftermarket gtx 1080, or just spend another 60$ and you get a 1080Ti. Upgrading a PC is much better than "upgrading" a console.
You can get a gtx 1080 for $500.

The cooler would be a industrial sized fan, I'm saying about 6 inch long, 4 inch wide, 6 inch tall motor, along with a blower fan for max cooling capability though, a water coolant tube will be inside. The coil of coolant tube will have a water flow inside created by the electric motor from before.
The only thing I would do is max out storage. I already have a 4tb external harddrive. Its always good to have as much space as possible, especially if you game alot.

A fan that drops into the back of the dock to aid cooling would be good if done right... then again you could always turn a fan on and point it at it but hey a little fan would be nice. Or I could just grab usb to fan adapter and grab a 120mm quiet fan take of the wire cover panel (you know the swingy thing) plug it in the usb 3 then sit it there with some foam tap on the bottom of the fan to decrease noise vibrations.
I would do that if I ever bother to dock my switch again since I have fan laying around even a fancy 3 pin with temp sensor on it that varies its speed.

Yeah I'm making it up, There's no single CCX based 4c/8t ryzen chip called the r3 1300 that comes with a cheap cooler has 3.2ghz base and 3.5ghz boost clocks costing $/£175 that easily overclocks to 4ghz, games really well (especially given its over 20% cheaper than intels 4c/8t 7600k) and my channel name has "tech" in it because I like painting.
Edit- though you can get it without SMT for $/£129 if you really want some budget horsepower.

True, Yeah, then the war begins. I'm a PC man myself. I have a really great computer, however completely understand why consoles are good and viable for multiple reasons as I used to own consoles. But... At the end of the day a PC is superior at the moment, and sadly this sweaty war happens. Hell, as long as the console people have fun and do what they do, that's fine! They should not be shamed for having a console, but rather recommended to think about it and guided should they consider to buy a PC.

My Xbox One S supports 3 external drives one of which also has 2 USB ports. And inside the drive with USB ports are two 3TB drives. My hard drive memory is 16.5TB, two 6TB drives, one 4TB drive and the internal 500GB. I also run a 10 port USB hub for any other peripherals such as the controller charge station.
