No bro, you require a battery to flash a bios unfortunately to do this However you can try a different video where you don't need to flash a bios. I'll link it in the next post

Hello bro. Thanks for the quick reply. But something just occured. while playing a game, the laptop crashed and restarted, so i assumed the -130 was too much so i was gonna reduced it to -100. But when i opened throttlestop, the settings were all greyed out again, but with the offset stuck at -130. The bios is no longer 1.9.3 again too, its back to 1.15.0. So what do i do? Note that i tried the other fix which involves changing the overclock and cfg lock to 0x0 but it didnt work, before i tried yours
@@georgeabaidoo4530 yeah I haven't had that laptop since about Feb/march I think my stable undervolt was like -125mv To get it to work again, sorry but you're gonna have to repeat the process exactly as you did. Once it loads the 1.9.3 bios Boot into the normal bios menu, go to security, then disable uefi capsule firmware updates. (That stops it automatically updating the bios to the newest version) Then it will keep the bios version at 1.9.3 until you decide to update Once that is done apply undervolt and enjoy

Also, I initially disabled the uefi firmware update as you said, thats why i was shocked that it is back to the latest version
Yes that's correct. Disabling uefi firmware updates is crucial though, otherwise it's just going to load the newer bios and you're gonna have to repeat the process again!
6:50 This old tutorial still does its job for me, but the weird part is that once I click on Reset to Restore Factory Settings, the computer restarts and boots into a new bios firmware upgrade. My bios version changed back to 1.17.0 from 1.9.3 after that. The strange thing is that even with the most recent bios version, I can undervolt my CPU. Wtf!
Yeah bro you need to disable capsule firmware updates. I can get to the bios recovery prompt but it only has reset to default settings or recover bios. I select recover bios and boots into windows. I check the bios version and it's still 1.17 I've done this multiple times and nothing changes. I checked your reddit post which are the steps I used.
I think this method has been blocked somehow by Dell. I got the same response from someone earlier today. There is another way. It's 4am where I am. I will send you details when I wake up.

Reason being this video is for 10th and 11th gen. On older CPUs Setup works but not CpuSetup.

What are you talking about? Lol I found this on Reddit, and when I had a 7577 I followed the steps and it worked... Blunder Dell may have blocked this method in the mean time. Switch down the laptop in the manner I describe, then unplug everything, then press those buttons whilst inserting the power cable. It takes about 20 seconds to register, just keep holding them down. Just keep repeating the process, it only worked for me on the 2nd try 💪👍 Good luck, and tell me if it comes right
What undervolt did you apply. I managed to get -135 on core and -125 on cache. Just restart your laptop a couple of times, there's no reason why this should cause overheating. Please let me know if you come right
@@laptoptweakingtips pc crashed and resets factory. ive tried to follow steps again and again but nothing works. bios version remains 1.17.0..... after ctrl+esc there is 3 otions: 1. Recover bios; 2. reset bios settings to default; 3. roll back bios. non of them downgrades bios... Did everything step by step... maybe im doing something wrong i dont know :(. thank you for responding :)
Then this method might not work anymore. Dell keeps doing extra work to prevent undervolting or find out new ways to block it. I'm gonna link another method in another post. Don't keep trying then just incase

ctrl+esc wont work. pc stays shut :(
Switch down the laptop in the manner I describe, then unplug everything, then press those buttons whilst inserting the power cable. It takes about 20 seconds to register, just keep holding them down.
Just keep repeating the process, it only worked for me on the 2nd try

What undervolt did you apply. I managed to get -135 on core and -125 on cache.
Just restart your laptop a couple of times, there's no reason why this should cause overheating. Please let me know if you come right
@@laptoptweakingtips pc crashed and resets factory. ive tried to follow steps again and again but nothing works. bios version remains 1.17.0..... after ctrl+esc there is 3 otions: 1. Recover bios; 2. reset bios settings to default; 3. roll back bios. non of them downgrades bios... Did everything step by step... maybe im doing something wrong i dont know :(. thank you for responding :)
Then this method might not work anymore. Dell keeps doing extra work to prevent undervolting or find out new ways to block it. I'm gonna link another method in another post. Don't keep trying then just incase
