Went back to the old Dell 7577 and updated everything without noticing that the bios update destroyed undervolting. Using: -Your tutorial to generate new bios -(as of current, the latest) 1.12.1 bios & 1.9.3 legacy bios -install -set settings to 'bios default' rather than 'factory settings' as it doesn't seem to exist -Disabling UEFI Capsule Firmware Updates & enabling bios downgrade once again Throttlestop ha once again saved my laptop! Thankyou somuch and you saved my entire system. Keep up the good work.
You are an absolute legend. I used your help to compile a 1.13.0 bios exe disguised as 1.14.0 to downgrade. Then I wanted to downgrade to 1.8.0 cuz i saw it had better performance so I tried just launching the bios exe but it was blocked, so I used the same method to make ANOTHER exe, this time 1.8.0 disguised as 1.13.0. It worked too. Now my games stutter wayyyy less than they did on 1.14.0. Thank you so much. I'll install a different nvidia driver to see the performance as well.
Thanks for sharing this. I used this technique to downgrade the BIOS on a Dell Precision 7720 that I had purchased which has the latest cancer firmware 1.35.0 (March 11, 2024). I was able to exorcise this gimped firmware filth and dowgrade to BIOS 1.15.1 (July 2, 2019) and regain overclocking and voltage control. The boost in performance in the ThrottleStop benchmark was nothing short of phenomenal.

Works perfect on my 7577. It was with BIOS 1.17. Been in the bios settings uncheck UEFI and then checked BIOS Downgrade. Then I logon into windows and did the steps. It took me 10 minutes without any problems. Now i can use trottlestop. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Edit: after several test directly from the benchmark that Shadow of the Tomb Rider have I hit 72C temperature on ultra settings with 38-45 Throttlestop settings: Disabled Turbo CPU offset 130.9 CPU Cache 130.9

september 2024 downgrade from 1.17.0 to 1.9.3 successfully and this still works. Something to note is that you should untick immediatly "uefi capsule firmware update" in bios after dowgrading before the system boot to windows main screen otherwise drowgrade will be reset.
Still works 09/21 using the latest 1.13.0 file & the suggested 1.9.3 file. I didn't have factory settings option on the last step so I chose default, which worked. I also switched off the BIOS UEFI update under security. Back to cooler temps and no thermal throttling. Thanks!

Doesnt seem to work with G3 3779, trying to downgrade from 1.25.0 to 1.11.0 and i get failed to update error "Intel ME" gets in the way and back to this crap bios again, searched all over and no one has any info on my laptop model. Nevermind that i managed to get it back to 1.11.0!!! and throttle stop allows uv again. So the steps i had to take: 1 Disable BIOS UFFI (this thin kept reseting my back to my latest BIOS) 2 Did secquencal downgrade instead of jumping straight to 1.11.0 (going from 1.25 to 1.24 skipped few version that dint block me to 1.13) 3 Ran custom bios ive made before (1.25.0 made into 1.11.0) 4 I still got some "Intel ME errors" fail but they dont seem to matter as dell software offered to update my bios and it finally showed my bios at 1.11.0 So thank you so much! i will share your turtorial in reddit dell section so other suffering like me could go back to undervolting again.

Is the last step necessary? Aka the "restore settings" step? I only want to downgrade cuz I've been getting some issues with the latest one. To my knowledge flashing bios automatically resets bios to it's default settings. So shall I leave it like this or do I still need to do the last step in video and restore settings? Thanks
For me, it worked after I did it. I am only showing what worked for me and hoping that it would work for people as well. You can try and see if it works without the last step.
also all must know in bios there is a option in security tab "UEFI firmware capsule" and this must be off because this is automatic update bios from Windows Update or Linux...and windows will update and all over again :)

Every computer is different. Just make sure you type the exact same thing. I find starting from the beginning and making sure you follow with me help too. I hope you resolved the issue.
@@senelburak I have the exact model dell 7577 i7 7700hq with 1060 maxQ but it doesn't run those commands like it does nothing and did follow every step and did them correctly by checking again and again to make sure if I got it all right. I want to downgrade so bad because my cpu is idle at 75 and 99 when playing games :(

@@vigilante9259 Nope, the trick here is we are getting the latest BIOS and injecting in an earlier BIOS, so your computer thinks it has the latest BIOS but it actually is an older version. I would say just follow the video and do not update.
@@senelburak I did as you said, downloaded the 1.9.3 and lastest 1.12.1 and ran cmd then did as you said everything was same until I hit enter it does not run those at 2:15 I don't know what causing this issue I also have python downloaded and I have already hit allow downgrade in bios, do you have discord or something so I can get help by sending screenshots so you would know. I really want this fixed as my cpu jumps to 99C I did repaste and still the same this was fixed when i undervolt it but now its unusable after the update.

the problem is that the cmd didn't recognise python on pc so u first open (edit the system environment virable) search for it in start search then downright press (environment variables) then u will find two areas one for user variable sellect path and press edit then new and put the path of the python which is installed and ok u will do the same in system variables area slect path ,edit,new put the path,ok then u finish u press ok in environmen variables tab and have fun it's fixed
@@rysktaken The only thing you might have done is corrupting your BIOS if you followed the steps but did something differently or you missed a step (assuming you had a working computer). I am stuck at -d ins. Around 2.07 min in the video and when I press tab it shows nothing. My laptop is Dell G3

It looks like you don't have Python installed on your system. You might want to google python and download and install it

They work differently for every computer. I would search for "[your computer model] throttlestop settings".

did everything correctly but my undervolt options in XTU are still greyed out
used previous ver of XTU 6.5 now its enabled and check disable firmware capsule updates after restoring factory settings

try to add after /forceit, like this: __output.exe/forceit. It worked for me.
