I WILL be buying the blue American GG1 set (engine + all passenger cars), and I, yes, do like the Halloween aba set + cars + the Halloween steam and cars. It's NOT about running Halloween, or Christmas, trains only for one day. You run those the entire season, months out of the year. True I don't by that much holiday trains, but they are nice. I will be getting the King Coal set + maybe extra cars, the Ferromax diesel, etc. And those canister cars to go with the area 51 trains I have, and the radiation, glow in the dark set as well, etc. I'm sure I seem childish to you. I like both reality AND fantasy. I may want the freight GG1 set as well. Thank you
@@colestrains1 It won't cost me 10,000$ esp after the discounts. Plus they let you return what you don't like / what has issues. On top of that, I always ask them after they get things in and before they ship to me to tell me their honest opinion, weather there are issues, the paint color, etc. Sorry, but I like the blue of the American set. It's a nice change. Do I have plenty of black steam engines? Do I buy more? Certainly. But I also like the fantasy green ones like the Pennsylvania from the catalog. The King Coal set is the priority for me, however. Sorry, but many others share my likes too
My experience with the 21" Lionel passenger cars is that they are very heavy cars. I have the 20th Century complete set, 8 cars and it is a beast of a set to pull around. It weighs a ton. Keeping it coupled is impossible. Keeping it from derailing is also a problem. A train with 12 of those cars? Whew! Won't be fun. Pulled by 1 locomotive? I wonder how long it will last. It will be very beautiful but running it will be a challenge.
@@davidjenkins1484 In the catalog, the engine is listed alone with 11 cars, as a set. I imagine Lionel wouldn't do that if the cars had these issues. Maybe they updated the cars to fix this or lighten them? I also suspect the new GG1 may be VERY powerful, as recent engines tend to be. I also seem to notice newer engines are rather well built. What do you think?
