Hey Ray great video so yeah I have put in my order I will be getting the AR GG1 The SD40 Blue Mountain and Reading and the J3 Hudson Pacemaker I love that paint scheme I dont care if its not scale I want it
I too will be joining the boys and getting a Lionmaster Hudson. The Pacemaker specifically. Hopefully it gets enough orders that Lionel realizes that Lionmaster is a great value for many of us with smaller layouts. I do agree though they didn’t seem to give a shit about it in their livestream haha
Some beautiful stuff in there Ray but wow, the prices are heart-stopping! Well, apparantly that's the niche market Lionel's looking for and apparantly successful in capturing so what do I know?
Love the GG1 (The Senator) oxide red first pick. I have a HO scale version.one of the most beautiful electric locomotive that ever graced the northeast rails. When Amtrak inherited some of the passenger equipment they painted some GG1 units black and some silver with a red nose, nicknamed (bloody nose) ,the worst paint scheme ever,LOL.
I wish my parents had immigrated to the USA instead of the RSA in 1947. You have fantastic model railway shops and train sets at at least 100% cheaper than RSA
If you bought two new legacy diesel locomotives over the year that's $1200. So no, $1450 isn't bad. It's the 2nd run for the Penn Central heritage unit. I want the Cargill version for my Cargill facility. The Lionel SD40-2 is a great locomotive. CNJ really did run the heavy Mikado. I have to see if I can save funds for the Conrail GG1
You are right, all the GG1's and the accompanying passenger car sets were a bit much. Also the fact that they cover celebrates the Polar Express and there were none in the book was a bit of a burn. And yeah, I'll be looking for a Ferromex at York in 2025. And I received my CAB3, I expect a video soon...
Nice! Another great review of the Vol. 2 catalog. Quite a lot here is way too expensive and I think that it will price many out of the new train market. $1300+ for a 4 pack of scale passenger cars is a bit too much, really. A Hudson with a Niagara number is kind of goofy, really. The new Lionmaster line is a good thing and the variety that they offer is quite good and the engines are more affordable than the Legacy/Vision Line stuff and still have some excellent features. I think that the freight cars are pretty nice and fairly affordable. As far as having foreign languages in the crew talk, it really wouldn't be too prototypical. Just like Air Traffic Control, everything is in English. If you go to border crossing, you may hear them talking to one of their dispatchers, but, otherwise, no. I've run quite a few Mexican and Canadian locomotives and while they are dual language engines, I've never heard any language other than English, here in the States. Either way, Ray, a fine review and an excellent video, as always.
@@johnandrus3901 the passenger car prices are nuts John I agree. And I didn’t even think about that with the Feromex but that’s a great point !! I actually used to fly so English being like the universal language for ATC makes sense to me
@@strasburgrailfan90 it was suspended for violating “community guidelines” lol. You know all that risky train content I put out there🙄. Trying to get it back but it’s been harder than when I was hacked 😑
I'm not joining the majority , Lionel can shove there prices where the sun don't shine, 😂. No justification for the outrages prices. Have fun draing your checking account. Not me!😂
That Conrail GG1 is awesome. This is definitely the one I'm getting for sure.

The Western Pacific SW1 is definitely what I’m getting. Potentially the Nickel Plate Road PAs and passenger cars

For me it’s either going to be the Conrail GG1 or the Erie PA AA diesels and matching super bass B unit.

I don’t have a GG1 yet and I’m torn between that stunning “classic” GG1 in Green or that awesome blue American Railroads. Ah decisions. 😅
I ORDERED THE NICKEL PLATE PASS CARS TO GO WITH THE BLUE BERK. 🙂👍👍

I have a question are you going to the Greenberg train show in Edison New Jersey on August 11 and the 12
@@Michaeltrains154 not sure yet but it’s definitely possible !!!
Do you speak Spanish? 😊 i don’t but Spanish crew talk would be cool. I may order the lionmaster NYC Hudson.

I'll probably order to the 2 AEC cars to go with the AEC set ordered in 2024 Vol 1.
