Beautiful engine 👍👍👍👍
Hey, the "Pepsi Can" is back! And it works so well Metro-North asked if they could borrow it! (It doesn't take much to make up a story to go with these things, is it?) That's really a good looking engine Ray! Thanks for inviting us along for its romp on the mainline!
It's got that "New Features" smell now! Nice to finally dig in and see what it'll do!!
Command control is addicting, I ran conventional for a couple of years and finally bought me a cab 1 and can’t go back.
all thanks to you gary!
How quickly we forget!
See’ya then. 👋🏻👍🏻
Excellent video as usual. What an overwhelming number of products on show!👍😁🚂🇬🇧
It's a good show. I couldn't go this year How long does it take you to get there It was 3 hours+ for me
Depends what you like. For me, Atlas put out an amazing catalogue. The Detroit Edison engines were a huge win for me. I like to collect electric utility related items and these were a much welcomed announcement. So, by comparison, the atlas catalogue was a much better one for me personally.
love the video man i went to the same train store and it was great thanks for the head up on it love ur videos keep them up
In 2020 I purchased a Lionel Burlington Northern GP - 38 for $219.00, it came with a remote and operates conveniently. That yr I also purchased Conrail SD 80 Mac for $400.00 New. It runs by Universal Remote. Now they want $500.00 - $700.00 in todays money for those engines that's not including shipping and sales tax. Todays prices are just ridiculous.
Nice review, Ray! There were some pretty neat locomotives there, especially the unpainted S2 and those Genesis engines are really good looking. The auto racks were nice and the opening, clam shell end doors, is a nice touch. The well-cars are sharp, too and make for addition to any layout. The layouts were just plain cool! That long stack train was sweet, for sure. Since I run mostly post-war and MPC, as you know, I think that the pickings would have been a bit slim. It would have been nice to meet with all of the other O gauge RUclips guys, but driving ten+ hours would have been a long schlep, considering. Had I been in Atlantic City, I probably would have made the trip. Either way, I'm looking forward the the next 3R/4D live stream. An excellent video, as always.
So what did you buy Ray??
Some nice looking Legacy and also liked the circus themed cars. Circus will likely disappear so those may go up in value.
Looks like it was a good time!
Looks like fun 👍
Very nice Ray! Also did anyone start yelling at the Lionel boys? Haha 🤣
Wow. I'm the first? Well somebody had to be the first commenter, it might as well be me! 🤩 Glad to hear you had fun up at the Amherst show Ray! Right, what I've just heard from you I've heard from others, while there's O Gauge articles for sale it's really an HO and N Gauge show. No matter, as long as you had a good time that's all that matters. So those three Metro-North locomotives are going to M-N itself? That's cool, it's kind of a throw-back to the old days when railroads would have models of their locomotives in the company offices. I suppose M-N's going to do the same. Amherst's a show I'm not likely to ever go to, it's just too far away, so thanks for bringing us along!
Ray stop by the LCCA booth at the end of the month. I would like to meet you..I think we are in Q8 Take care
I hope to see Metro North passenger car for this diesel in the near future.
Ty for this vid. Kinda a newb. Into trains in another life & now just back in it. Things have changed. A little overwhelming. This is way off bc don't have a layout. Literally just back & caught the bug big time. This vid cleared up a lot of fog I had watching all the vids. I've been watching a ton of vids from a crew of u guys. Appreciate it all.
Of all the overpriced rich man’s toys in this monument to arrogance and hubris there is one thing that actually appeals to me - the track cleaning motorized unit. It’s not horribly priced and is useful.
You did well to forego the unboxing Ray! That stuff is boring and I usually just fast forward to the meat of the video. Anywho, the engine is awesome - lots of great details and features. Congratulations!
Lionel would win.Atlas no match
Nice review, Ray! I think that the disappointment with the Lionel catalog was that it really didn't pay homage to Lionel's history. A few pages detailing their history and then basically a bunch of reissued items, made from existing tooling, with very high prices. Only the NYC F3 was a throwback to the glory days. It would have been better to see a line-up of their classic train, but no. Either way, the Detroit Edison U Boats are pretty cool. Edison had both GE's and EMD's, in their line-up They hauled their coal trains from mines out east, mostly West Virginia, in the 70's and 80's. They had mid-train remotes and the trains were huge, basically two trains in one. The cars were bathtub gondolas, with way more capacity than today's hoppers. They were over the standard Class 1 weight limit, but they ran exclusively on CSX. We used to seem them, when they came through Toledo. I like the bottle cars, with the glow out of the cap. Those are neat in real life. They are limited in their speed and are so hot that they set-off the hot box detectors and have to be inspected, each time. Other than that, I think that the Atlas catalog is pretty straight forward, compared to Lionel's, with all of their themed items. Pretty much meat and potatoes, solid engines and cars. An excellent review and video, as always.
Such a shame that MTH didn't do anything with the C30-7 other than demote it to Railking Scale line.
I would like the Conrail Dash 8 but I'm not a DCS fan. I will go for the DT&I and Erie 60ft box cars
You forgot to mention that future Atlas Premier O rolling stock will feature rotating wheel bearing cap trucks because they got tired of seeing Dakman complain about it lol. That was the first thing Atlas told me back at the fall York show. In the catalog that was given out during the fall show the new trucks were announced in that one.
FYI. Lionel is not overpriced, those orange and even more so black boxes are very expensive. We all know you get what you pay for and apparently blue, purple and yellow boxes are much more inexpensive than orange or black boxes.
Definitely not a ground breaking book from Atlas by any means, But the Dash 8s and the road names being offered are great and welcomed. Best thing that’s in this is that Coke fountain truck, Definitely gonna pic that up.
Ray what happened to your F-19 where is it
Atlas always puts out an interesting catalog now that they're serious about O Gauge. For years it seemed like they just couldn't make up their minds whether to get serious about O or not. While there's nothing in the catalog I can't live without (Although it'll be a different story if they comeout with some new Steam Era billboard cars!) I'd have to say I found your review enjoyable just the same. Hey, have fun up at the Amherst club show! I've never been and probably never will, it's just too far away, but I've heard and seen videos about it and it really looks like a sight to see. Kind of like a "York North!" Have a safe trip and good hunting!
Have fun.
Nice review. Have fun at the show.

Yeah ok catalog, some of those premier prices are right in line with Lionel so people should complain about that too. I do like those vehicles, I'll probably pick some of those up.
Hi Ray, I have been with you from almost the beginning of your channel. I love and watch all of your videos and yes please make more live streams because I really like your content. It's really great stuff. I also watch Art's and Mike's videos also and 3rails4dads and I just enjoy the stuff you guys do and I hope you guys continue bringing us many many more years of enjoyment. Really appreciate the kind words Jay thank you so much !
😂 got myself one too the mth 30-73305 sherritt fertilizer 33k tank car needs a bit of repairs but is in good shape
Awsum “;-)”🚂👍
My catalog review comes out on Friday January 24th. Look forward to it?
Nice store
I'd get the powered one. Still spending hundreds on no lights, no nothing. I'd rather spend the difference for the powered than wasting hundreds for a brick. The whole cat I'm getting the weathered sd40t. The Harry Potter butterbear tank car & station. Lastly the 80th anniversary car. Last thing is I'm getting all the gondolas in triplicate. JK JK
🚂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ya wanna know what I’m buying? …Atlas.
At $430 for a non-powered diesel shell is ridicules. It’s just stupid, my opinion.
Lionel is trying to create a future value set on their past. If Lionel couldn't say post war or pre war they would have nithing to talk about in the modern hobby.
I pre order the butterbeer smoke fluid already 😆
But they never made it sadly 😢
Nice review. Quick and to the point…!
@@realtoytrains no I loved yours the most! The woke autorack killed me 😂
