Got my father a Chromecast for his birthday a few days ago. I just saw your video with the button mapper method and read the comment about the auto launcher releasing today. The stock launcher interface is a bit confusing for my father, it needs to be as simple and clean as possible (he's in his 70s now). Going to install this in the next days, i'm sure he'll love it. Hey, did you buy the Google TV stick and can not find the typical Google Play Movie library view? In order to get that view, where you can browse and search through movie genres etc. just push the assistent button on the Google TV remote and say: "Open Google Play Movies". Thats it!

He doesn't reply to these questions. He f'd me with a firestick mod some time ago and has never responded up to now. I still subscribe to the channel but to everyone else, proceed with caution when installing these mods unless you have 50$ to purchase a new device every week. Cheers mate!
Hey, the luncher is very cool, but i just can't get widgets to work (did the steps with remote adb but is not working for me) and when I make wolf luncher default it isn't working anymore. Sometimes the app grid stays empty and when it loads the grid I can't select anything. Is there a fix for it? Running latest Google TV.

I was able to get the wallpaper and widget loaded. As far as the widget is concerned, the widget initially shows the correct temperature, but then afterwards never updates. The time does update. I'm not sure about the rest, such as wind and humidity. Do you have a fix for this or have another widget that actually works?
Great tutorial, Doc. Installed easy on my new CCWGTV. Just playing with the settings etc now. One thing I was hoping for that I'm not seeing is.... Suggested movies etc from my installed apps (like the stock launcher) but without the suggested programs from services I don't use. I thought that was an option with a new launcher like this, but I'm not seeing it. I'll keep looking!
I just wanted to say thanks so much for you're launcher as you might not believe this but iptv with stb emu on the regular launcher doesn't work correctly constantly jumps and stops playing streams think with the Google launcher there's too much going on in the background but with yours no issues at all I've tested both and only yours works thanks for your work

Hi there. Got to the part where I go to Security and restrictions. Install unknown apps opens but there is nothing that allows to be changed. I'm in Australia. Any ideas?
For some reason my cursor is disabled when I launch it. I can't select any apps or get into the launcher settings when I hold down the select button. I can move the screen up and down, but that is it. UPDATE: I had to download the button mapper separately for it to work. Works great now!

TechDoctorUK I couldn’t get any of the VMapps to work then I stumbled on a video which mentioned using a FTV remote with VMapp or USB C hub. I tried a hub and it worked. I purchased the USB C hub after watching your previous video. The one you linked to isn’t available on amazon in the US. The one I purchased didn’t work with Ethernet which was my primary reason for purchase so I ended up using it with my iPad Pro. Thanks for the great videos. I’ve learned a lot from you. I finally got the widget to work, had to do the adb shell as per tutorial fwe times until it worked, powering the unit off will null the adb shell. Also the weather apps must be installed on the internal memory, otherwise having the apps on usb stick does not work, good luck. great app, thanks TDUK

Lol, you don't need to use launcher Manager of you don't want you. You can just enter in 2 ADB commands instead. 3rd party apps like button mapper I meant.

I am trying to fix that. I believe its tied in to the stock launcher which is why when we disable the launcher - the button stops too. Have you tried manually mapping it with Button Mapper ?
I haven't. In order to map a function to the RUclips button on the remote you need to select "add button" in the button mapper app. That feature is only available on the pro version of the app. I was trying to avoid purchasing that, which led me to this video.

The microphone seems to work fine, but when you click on any app or movie after using voice search it won't let you open it. 😕
I have the same issue. It does work in the apps though (like if you say "sci-fi movies on netflix). But not if you just say "show me sci-fi movies".

Install downloader first so that will become and option for you to enable
