A five player multiplayer mission in which eight Hellcats and ten Corsairs try to defend their carrier task force from japanese torpedo and kamikaze attacks.

If Bouma landed on the wrong carrier, he can expect his Hellcat to be covered by grafitis by morning.
Landing is harder then turkey shooting. Cat #05 deserves the 1st prise - for persistence. He finally did it...in a way.

That hellcat landing crash was an almost exact but more extreme version of the one we’ve all seen a million times.

I wish I could have these carrier missions on the newest IL2 BOS, that has always been my favorite in the whole series.
what a great ride, i love the Sair like no other in this fat game.
i love the C version the best, with four 20mm's converged way out there,
the four hit like a ton of bricks when you examine weight of fire and rounds per second
unlimited fuel, 25% fuel load. unlimited ammo, engine overheat off
no cockpit, no labels. never took this config online, but had plenty fun slaughtering
my enemies for many years. if i had a dollar for every carrier landing i put my sweet, wicked
Vought into and burned up or disintegrated, or drown. ayye
the mighty radial, the huge wing area, the trough inside the wing cranks, helping it handle so sweet and predictable at an apex, trying to dive on the target arcing over with landing flaps
at 70mph, setting no flaps and dropping in like a giant wicked peregrine
but unlike the peregrine, the Corsair will kill you with four 20's, from way the hell out there.

That Corsair is a thing of beauty. The class of Naval/Marine fighters. The US needed it a little sooner in the war.
Love these. Maybe do one of Operation Vengeance. With the P38 Lightening squad. And taking out the 2 bombers one with the Admiral Yamamoto on board and taking out all the zeros both bombers had for escort lol . I remember the story was 10 lightenings. 5 skimming the waves below radar other 5 up high. Remember a bunch had to turn back cause some was wrong with the planes.
Honestly these engagements especially from the cockpit look way more realistic to the actual footage, especially when compared to il2 BOS, or DCS, if you are flying props.

You guys really need to watch some of those old WW2 videos of actual carrier landings. The Corsairs always fly straight over the carrier at their approach altitude and then hook left so they're in the turn until the last moment ,and then they touch down. So many of these landings I was thinking "Wave off!! Wave off!!!"
@@DarkenedFantasies How's he supposed to know any different? What about having a LSO direct the landings with the two paddles signifying "cut the engine" and the like. That's one of the many things that bugs me about IL-2 Sturmovik that Team Daidalos and the realism mod makers who made BAT mod didn't address. Let's address these points.

How do you upload the il sturmovik videos to RUclips? The original format does not accept it.
Anyone know the stats for carrier landings in WWII, i.e. how often a pilot had to go around again, how frequent crashes were, hard/damaging landings, etc? I'm curious if IL2 makes it harder (because no landing officer or guide lights) or easier (because not real) than it was historically.

At this time the number of ships and aircrafts of the Japanese Navy was small, and it was not possible to hold good pilots,good gasoline and so on.
If only IL-2 1946 could integrate submarines, mines, and aircraft in one combined dynamic campaign reaking havoc on the Japanese war effort and they're actually low on fuel and really can't do a whole lot to sustain their war effort. If only IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 mod makers addressed this, along with Team Daidalos.
Some of them clearly missed the carrier landing training they where getting to high and i know its not easy but you need have a certain confidence in your skills and aircraft to be a navy figther pilot

Nope. That torpedo disappeared due to a replay bug. It would probably not even arm when it gets dropped like that.

How can u play il 2 1946 multiplayer?
Okay... Just two comments after another great video.... Number 1, Aircaft do not have a wheel spin/screech at take off as they are just wheel an brakes without power back in the day. Always makes me laugh... Sigh... Secondly, what is with the "Rice-Shaker" audio with the F4U while showing an outside view of flight? Thirdly, this just proves the Wildcat and Hellcat became obsolete back in the day. Should've redesigned it. Oh wait! They did! the venerable F8F "Bear-Cat"! A mix of a Wild-cat, Hell-cat, F4U and some more to create a F8F Bear-cat... A little late in the WWII show, but damn, one of the greatest aircraft ever made in the Pacific War... Aside from the P-38, but that was a Gentleman's, beautiful airplane to which the rank-n-file despised back in the day. But still, super effective for it's purpose. But the F8F was superior in the Pacific theater, matched only by the P-51D in the European (Ur-a-Peeiin) theater.... JMO....
I'll make sure to tell the game not to make those noises anymore. It usually does not listen to me, but I'll try!

Visually very impressive. The planes are very well rendered, though by this stage of the war - with F4U's apparently commonly flying from carriers - the lighter blue F6F-3s would mostly have been retired, and the F6F-5s would have worn the same dark blue paint (though not, in this case, the same tail markings) as the F4Us. A pair of glaring flaws: First, the game or mission developers know nothing about standard naval landing procedure on a carrier during WWII. Second, no Corsair pilot would go into combat with his canopy open unless he had literally just left the flight deck, which wasn't the case here.
it is a game. You fly around shooting things. But Fishyyy and his friends fly on realistic which gives need to prop pitch, radiator open %/closed % etc. It's a game, go look at some actual ww2 naval carrier footage if you want realism, there you'll be fine in the comments, here? You're an asshole.
