- This is a QMB mission. I'm leading 6 RAAF P-40s vs 3 A6M "Zeros" and 3 Ki-61 "Tonys".
This video was made using the BAT modded version of IL-2 1946.

Excellent dive out to avoid the shots from the six. Seperate and go head on is a good tactic. Flying back to your wingmen was a winner. The engine sputtering at the end makes a trip back to base quesionable, however in 1942 New Guinea there seemed to be air stips everywhere :)
I was lucky it was a Zero on my six and not a Tony. A P-40 will easily outrun a Zero in a dive, but not so easy with a Tony.
During the second head on engagement the bandit hit one of my oil lines. The engine still performed well, but there was so much oil on the windscreen I was having a difficult time seeing in front of me. Because of that, I missed a couple of shots at the number 3 Zero, and my number 7 had to shoot him off my tail.
Fortunately we were close to home base, so even if the engine ran out of oil, making it back to the airfield was not a problem.

I think You make a serious mistake, decreasing the Power of engine, to stay behind Zero.Just keep the Power trying to climb higher , You can get him later, reaching tactic advantage. Never loose speed,that is the Point.That is the Martial Art.
