Thanks for doing the corsair again guys, I had the fortunate encounter with a naval classmate of Robert Hampton Gray it has been one of my favorite aircraft since.
The American pilots in WW2 had the same problems as we see here; the corsairs were heavier and much faster than the zeros (in a dive). The yanks decided to use that fact. They'd start from high and dive through the Zeros firing at one in particular then continue the dive and fall away; at speed. Then they'd use the speed to climb back up too far from the zeros for them to do anything about it and repeat.
I really struggle with those .50 cals for some reason. I have tried adjusting convergence but no matter what I do I can't get above 10% hit rate. I can't blame the Corsair either because it is the same with the P-47 and P-51. I just don't get along with those guns!
This looks like fun.... because of work i kinda gave up sim, but next year im building a rig, and if you guys still fly and have a spot maybe i will join
Japan started WW2 with the Zero as the main fighter of the IJN, by 1944 when the US was invading Saipan it was still the main fighter of the Navy.....that is like the USA using the F4F Wildcat and the P-40 as their main fighter in 1944 and 1945, not the same model but upgraded. still would be no match against late war German planes. Wonder what was going to any Japanese pilot that started the war in the Zero and then watching Americans replace their F4F for F6F Hellcats. must have been insane
One suggestion, try to aim more ahead of the plane you're attacking. You played War Thunder before right? Where they have those circle things in arcade mode in which directs you to accurately shooting a target, might actually hit more stuff then.

Ah, Hayabusas... the one thing *even more agile* than a Zero. And a better climber as well. Thankfully they only have 2 12.7mm's, they really need to stick with you to get good shots in. *watches Typhun get shot down with a short burst* Well, most of the time. >_> Also... I can't believe I heard this: "Could just be that the Corsair sucks!" - Shoot that man! SHOOT HIM!
@@Fishyyy A Ki-84 Hayate/"Frank"?! *gulp* Yeah that would be a wholy different caliber of enemy... one of the best performing japanese fighters, not as good a turner as the more well known ones(at least without using it's butterfly flaps) but fast, great acceleration and climb as well as good diving characteristics, even if high speed ease of control can't begin to compare to most US fighters. I'd rate it as overall superior to the Corsair when not troubled by unreliable engines and sub-par quality avgas. Yeah, that's an opponent where the Corsair should never slow down below 400 kph to be safe. Would also explain why they looked a bit chunkier than I am used to from Ki-43's. ^^
yeah, if you get shot down though no ones gonna come to rescue you after you plunge into the ocean. if its too out of the way of your carrier or other ships so imagine how terrifying it is to know you will be suffering a torturously slow agonizing death from exhaustion and dehydration over the next 5 - 6 days? war irl is a fucking nightmare
maybe it's just me but i think the corsairs are the worst planes in the game, it just seems slower than zeros unless you're in a dive (i've just been caught by a zero) and no other plane gets into a stall and spin so easily, as well as this you can't even see out the back so i'm watching this to see what i'm doing wrong

You can change it in your config in. Standard you just cant see the planes at all untill there on your tail.

I think we used the wrong nickname. The aircraft that killed Typhun was a Ki-84 with two wing cannons.
