What were these changes to the ship AA about?

Are the changes to base 1946 or a mod/s (if so, what mods are you using here?)
We changed both vanilla and mod files. All guns on the modded ships like Nelson only had one barrel to fire with. We Gave eight barrelled AA guns the correct amount of barrels. More importantly, though, we changed the colour of their tracers. It turned out that most tracers were dark blue, so no one would actually see them against the water background.

Imagine War Thunder, but SP/Coop. Get some usefull AI and a mission and campaing editor. They could sell it right now, like have the tech trees in parts, you could buy like WW2 Allies pack, Korean War bundle, for some normal 60$ a piece price. God, I'd buy that right now
I can't help myself but notice that this old game somehow has a better feel to all the crashes, bullet impacts and explosions than the new iterations of IL2.

that turs and dip towards the battle at 6 minutes is something that would be so crazy to see in real life then turn with all your buddies and head straight into it. it reminds me of what your first thought would be seeing the Volga river outside of Stalingrad then get on a boat and head straight into it. the literal gates of hell on earth.

Has anyone made a proper VR mod for 1946 yet?
What I desperately want is better physics on crashes/impacts, more mountainous and dynamic terrain (I REALLY hope Deadstick isn't a Deadproject and I would *kill* for that that level of internal/ground detail in ANY flight sim ...imagine a full on survival-style game where at first you even drive around a fair bit and suffer through barn-storming/mail delivery/etc... to build up your private little hidden away air strip and baby your first decent aircraft through delivery/smuggling/combat missions to build up your growing little empire and it could be a REALLY massive MMO with standard air travel/trade but also politics/war and you and your buddies could form legit airlines/smuggling operations/squadrons/aerodromes/etc... and get into air-pirate style beefs w/ neighboring factions --there should DEFINITELY be the ability to get fairly creative with land construction/modification because if I could fly "home" to a semi-hidden canyon mountain waterfall city in the clouds with a personal secondary private fully hidden entrance that's just a large vertical crack in a cliff wall containing a very short runway literally on the WALL which then makes a 3/4 corkscrew turn to level and around the corner into the hanger like in Talespin! ...and it could even develop through time/tech and later you could maybe be flying crazy, fictional latter day cold war black ops-type missions for your own civil/factional war in the meta and they could be getting nuts by then and actually giving us much more varied and/or obscure aircraft (including flying boats ) but I like the idea of having to do the equivalent of "stealth" flight sim missions by flying air traffic routes in something like a liveried Tri-Star and trying to get away with small deviations and using modified air stairs to roll off tactical munitions/paras/smuggling deliveries/etc... and ULTIMATELY what I really want is for a flight sim to make a big leap into the truly LARGE scale and the "fantastic" because flight sims are really missing out on exploring what it would be like to actually flee a lob-tossed nuke (especially if it was at some colossus/kaiju threatening the East coast) or get weird and have the planet split open and fly around in giant caves or the planet's not even Earth and gravity is maybe half and the gravity well a quarter of ours so aerospace design/techniques in the meta have gone whole other way (or maybe we just get airships back and it's a kinda interwar Crimson Skies thing... (but all as a SIM, never an action or sim-like game... the complex and rewarding flight models and complex mechanical operation is a really crucial element and it goes well with survival genre at large and would compliment the other elements I've mentioned)
...but super fantasy tangent aside, I also want them to get back to the Pacific and carriers and I know they had plans to but decided to out it off and at least get Normandy and maybe a couple more modules under their belt first ...and I certainly think it's amazing as it is and is always getting better but there's definitely a huge awkward gap between when you just explode/crater and when you crash land/mostly stay together and it _can_ look as fake as a plastic toy. I'm not sure how different the physics of the crashes looks up close but whenever I watch DCS dogfights I am absolutely blown away by how streaky and fiery the "splash" can be and the way a crashing aircraft looks from all the way up in the victor's cockpit is genuinely the easiest way I can usually tell the difference "at a glance" between a dogfight captured in Great Battles/Tobruk ("New"-IL-2) and one captured in DCS...

What happend to the red roundels?
Well, in the Pacific theatre they removed them (red circles) so they couldn't be mistaken for Japanese aircraft - this did happen once or twice! This mission is in the Mediterranean though, so I don't know.
