I can't tell you enough how much your videos have helped me get thru the anxieties that I have with getting my own upper dentures! Thankyou so much!!!It's Wednesday, early AM and I go to get my full extractions and temporary upper denture Thursday at 07:30!! My story sounds much the same as SimplyMe1970. I'm only 45, and I say only because I even feel much younger than that, and am often told I look like I'm in my early 30's still. So this is very hard for me. I mean we all think dentures are for old people. My bad teeth are also a combination of bad genetics, pop, smoking, and birthing babies. It seems like after each of my three kids, I would lose another tooth. You have really helped me to calm these fears and anxieties. And like yourself, my most cherished moment will be when I can truly smile like I mean it. Kudos to you and your courage, because if has produced a ripple effect. Huge smiles Girly!

Wish i would have found your video's before the final step in my gaining my smile. I'm now 52 and had to get dentures about 6 yrs ago. Ive had a life time of bad teeth. Been thru 2 sets of porcelain crowns including a few bridges and 2 implants. When I took the step to get my immediate dentures I was terrified. And with good reason. I have hated them ever sense. I wasnt as lucky as you. Made me look soo old and I pretty much stopped doing things I always did before. After lots of research and four years of knowing the all on 4 procedure was available at far to hefty a price for my skinny budget, I am finally going to be able to get it done and I'm super excited. I just hope they look half as beautiful as yours do. Looking forward to eating corn on the cob and going out to dinner and being able to laugh and show off the roof of my mouth again. Glad I never stopped hoping and holding it in my mind, had I done that, It would have never become a reality. Great channel and good information for those who are searching for answers.

Thank you for everything! I know I've said it before multiple times, but you and several other vloggers here helped me survive the "denture adventure" and inspired me to make some videos of my own. Your "don't let this ruin you" video was probably the MOST helpful for me. I had a really, really hard time emotionally, and that one kind of helped me with a breakthrough, so thank you :)

How true! When you let go of the shame , and put out it "there" you takes away the power that it holds over you. You truly have helped people.

I just had all my uppers done a month ago and I'm still working on learning how to eat and not choke. In 6-8 months I go in for the bottoms. My oral surgen and I are discussing replacing my bottoms with all on two, which is less expensive. Thanks to your videos I think I will be following his advice! Thanks for all you do. You were a great help through all this journey!

A Place To Heal This is a very good starting point. Had I not won my implants in a contest, this is the route I would have gone. Two implants on the lower denture to stabilize it and then just add more implants, two at a time. Good for you! Glad to have been of some help =)

I've followed you since your first video, had struggles with dental work in my life and found you. To this day I have those struggles and I'm now at a fork in the road. You are inspiring, not because you are beautiful and have a beautiful smile but you give hope where I thought I had none. You are strong, thank you for showing me how to be.

Ive got to tell you that I REALLY appreciate you and your videos. I am a 55 years young man who made the mistake of stopping taking care of my teeth when I lost my job back in 2008. Along with the job loss I lost my health and dental plans and coupled with depression, poor diet etc. it has taken just short of ten years of me neglecting my teeth that God gave me and last week I had 10 teeth and tooth roots extracted (8 from the top and thankfully just 2 molars from my bottom left) and so I am left with 2 molars on top which are the 2nd to the furthest back on either side and 3 front teeth (the two very front which are porcelain fused crowns on posts of my natural front top teeth and the tooth next to my left top front tooth which is fused to the front two which is why they call it a 3-tooth stint) So.....I am now waiting 3 weeks for my gums to heal before being fitted for a partial upper that is going to "lock in" around the two remaining molars and then meet up with my front teeth. Not exactly sure HOW THE HECK that's gonna work out but I am hoping for the best. I know that its not going to be fun at all but I am soooo glad that after searching on the internet about dentures and the different options I have now watched most or your videos (not all) and Ive got to say THANKS a MILLION!! You have answered so many of my questions and given me needed knowledge to face my upcoming visits. You ROCK!!! -Chris in Sacramento, CA

Thanks for having the courage to do these videos, I've been following your channel for a while and had my full clearance surgery 6 months ago. There is literally nothing in the world that can prepare you for what you're about to undertake with dentures and I searched desperately online before my surgery looking for a source of knowledge and experience and couldn't find anything, until I found you! It was never going to be an easy thing to do and it wasn't, everyone has a different recovery and transitional periods but seeing your progress through the channel over time gave me the hope that things would eventually be better. And it does get better! Hang in there people! Love you Kal!

As a dentist who provides the All-on-4 solution, thank you for sharing your experience! Many have no idea what they are getting into when they want dentures and I think you have shared as much good and bad about the process as you can. I feel you have helped a lot of people!

I've never commented before but please don't worry about the haters. You are a beautiful person whose courage and humility inspires and has touched so many ppl. I had problems with my teeth all my life and for a long time I felt alone until I came across your videos 3 years ago. I mean I had support from family and friends, and that meant a lot, but know one truly understood what I was going through.Your videos gave me the support I needed to get through my dental treatment, helped me regain my self-esteem, and the courage to share my own story. It's been a long journey, but today I am confident and proud to tell my story. I even went back to school and became a dental assistant. I wanted to find a way to turn the pain into a gain and help others take back their oral health and their lives! From one comeback kid to another, thank you for sharing and God bless!

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the courage to move forward on making a very important decision. I just got back from Cancun, Mexico along with my supportive husband and had all my terrible teeth removed and had all on 4 implants done. It was you and another gal by the name of June who also has videos on RUclips. Best decision I ever made. I hid from everyone for 10 years with a smile and dodged many of times of being in family pictures because of my teeth. I just had it done 3 weeks ago, love it and I only have temps. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the strength to get it done. Your inspiring and such a sweet, beautiful woman. Deb from the Chicago area.

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to make all these videos. Your videos have helped me tremendously with my journey. I have had a very hard time with this. I went to a dentist with my first and only broken tooth. I had broken it trying to bite a frozen kiss in half to share with my dog. I was given a scare tactic spill telling me I needed the immediate denture procedure because my upper teeth were so bad. I have since gotten my records & x-rays. My teeth were healthy, my roots & gums were healthy. My teeth were pulled because I had dental insurance that would pay. So because I had no pain & no trouble eating anything before dentures I have had major trouble adjusting because they were not an improvement, they were a very painful hindrance. Your attitude & helpful information have really helped me adjust. I have reported that dentist to the state dental board and I am scheduled for an teeth in a day procedure Nov 11. Your video's again are very helpful. I want my healthy & pretty smile back. I can never have that. The teeth in a day will be an improvement over the denture but from your videos I am not expecting it to be like getting my own teeth back. And I really really appreciate your honest helpful information. You have helped me to go into this with the right attitude. It is what it is and I choose to be positive too. Thank you very much! Very very much!

I would like to thank you for all your videos. I'm 52 and getting my top teeth extracted on Monday and my bottoms done 2 weeks later. Watching your videos makes me feel so much better about going through this. I held on to my teeth as long as I could and now have to move on to dentures. My ultimate goal is to get the all on 4 like you. I have done a lot of research and because of the high cost of implants in the US, I will have the all on 4 done overseas. Thank you again and don't let the haters bother you, you are a beautiful intelligent and caring woman and I am sure that you are admired by many people.

We are too young and beautiful to be wearing fake teeth, girl!!! 😢
Can we sing with dentures? How hard is it to get used to wearing fake teeth? My dentures days are upon me. I SO don’t want to do this! I hate having to do this, but I totally want to smile again without hiding behind my hand. I just pray my auntie helps me to pay for the dentures. I’m going to miss chewing gum, 😃 but I am So so ready to smile again without feeling so horrible because of how bad my teeth are getting. I’m proud of you for putting yourself on blast. They’re truly is something magical that happens when we let lose of our flaws regardless what anyone’s going to say. Forget the haters!!!

Hope I haven't confused you with a whole new identity but for some reason I cant get in with my original email & password so I had to start all over with my subscriptions & all. I cant believe people think you made this up..good grief. You have stepped out of your personal comfort zone to blaze a trail for all of us coming behind you. As you know, you have been such an inspiration for myself & thousands more. When I first knew dentures were a for sure thing for me the 1st video I watched was your 1st video. I was hooked. I watched every video up to that date that you had made & you made me feel safe & because of you I knew I could do this & I would make it also. I am coming up on a year next month w/full upper/lower partial & it's the best thing I have done heath wise. But yes there are struggles & you made that so clear in this video bc with the joy of dentures comes the sorrows too. Thank you for all you do for us. God bless you...p.s.tell Brody hi..lol

I just got dentures a week ago and I'm still trying to eat and talk alittle better. I just wanted to say that you are so brave! I watched your videos trying to get over the fact I needed dentures. I hated talking to people and smiling with my teeth showing. I couldnt chew anymore and had alot of breaking teeth. I even hid my mouth when I laughed. You helped me so much knowing someone else went with it and felt the same way. You rock girl!!!

I am wholeheartedly agreeing with you right now (while you're still speaking about how difficult that last video was to post for all the world to see) and I commented on that video on how much I admire your courage and how much I appreciated that one and this one too. I can totally relate! Every word you say is also true for me, except that people already know about my situation due to lack of funds to get my set made, I am saving for it now, it's more important to me than a vehicle. Not only for "looks" but also to be able to eat better. I am developing digestive issues bc of my dental problems.

My teeth have always been crooked (cross bite, with crowding) and now they are rotting out because i drink so much mountain dew and have been for the past 10 to 13 years. Im so scared to get dentures because my dentist said I would be toothless for about 4 to 6 months and I'm only 30. But i really want to get them done because its causing me headaches. Also i would love to see mydelf with straight teeth. Watching your videos make me feel more confident to get mine done. So id like to say thank you❤

Hi Dr. Steve here. After practicing dentistry for 22 years I'm convinced that sometimes Decay happens. Some patients eat sugar 24 hours a day, never brush or floss and never get a cavity. Others do the opposite and have very severe decay which leads to extractions. The general public doesn't understand this fact. I have four kids... two have never had a cavity and two get cavities quite easily. It has a lot to do with the bacteria in your saliva. So if you need teeth replaced and you are under 50 years old bone loss over time is a Big problem. Some long term denture wearers have No bone left and the big nerve that runs in the middle of our lower jaw becomes partially exposed covered only by soft tissue. What does this mean? Your denture becomes incredibly painful to wear...so you don't. If your dentures can be supported by implants ( ideally 4) per denture, this bone loss over time does not occur. The dentures also stay in much better and they can be a lot less bulky. Let me know if you would like to consider implants or you have denture questions. You may qualify to be a patient at one of our implant programs where you would receive implants at no cost. Call me 1-858-334-9031 or go to FreeImplants.org.

This is true I am 28.yo and still have 4 baby teeth with 0 adults that should have replaced those baby teeth, my mother and brother have the same problem also I have a canine that did come down but it has overlapped a tooth that is still there, both are adult. The same tooth on my right side is still there but has not came down, you can only see it in the x-ray. Sadly I was born into a generational poor family who didn't take me to the dentist and I drank soda from a child.so my teeth are not savable sadly. I will be driving 2 1/2 hours to a dentist with my mom to drive me home and take over baby sitting my (2) 3 1/2 year olds for a few days after. I will be getting all my teeth extracted with immediate dentures and once I'm healed I will get to keep those and get my new dentures that I am paying for the best dentures the offer with 7years warranty. My husband and I were not going cheap we are looking at it as an investment, and so blessed that we can do to he also came from a generational poor family that was worse than mine sadly, but his teeth( he has never been to the dentist either) and he has straight white teeth, some are going bad but now that he reconnected with his real mother he can now go to the choctaws to help him, our children will not go through what we had to, their teeth will be taken care of, my husband and I have broken our families cycle and are doing so many things differently when raising our children. Haha they love brushing their teeth, they will randomly bring their tooth and toothpaste asking to brush their teeth lol it's so cute.... I let them.

Congratulations on getting implants. I will most likely never be so lucky and honestly this is probably "it" for me. I am 29 and my teeth were actually worse than yours were. It was to the point at the end that I was dealing with back to back infections and on non-stop antibiotics and heavy pain killers. I had no choice but to go to an absolute BUTCHER of a dentist to have all but the bottom front 4 pulled at once under general anesthesia. I now have an upper denture that doesn't seem to fit and my gag reflex is so strong that I can't even close my mouth or swallow with it in without gagging uncontrollably. Speaking is out of the question. I haven't really talked about this but I still have moments where I feel like this just needs to be over but I've had to push through and accept that I will probably never have teeth again. It's absolutely NOT easy and some days are nearly unbearable. I have to avoid mirrors because even on my good days I feel confident until I remember how I look. I wish I could be lucky enough to have some miracle happen in my life to allow me to have implants but this is pretty much life for me so I've just got to get that head up and try to push on. My next goal is to try again to get a job. Every time I've tried my lack of teeth has led to complete and utter failure but I can't move forward in life without it so I HAVE TO KEEP GOING!

First I would like to say I admire your courage. I would never expect such a beautiful woman to have the issues you had. You are one of the reasons I took the steps to get an upper denture. I wish I had known you years ago, I could have been your best friend and share our pain in hiding ourselves from the world. I couldn't even speak without feeling uncomfortable. Every Time I laughed, I would hold my hand over my mouth. I am a 31 year old man. My parents never took care of my teeth and never took me to the dentist. So naturally I never realized the long term consequences. Plus the only fear in this world I have is the dentist. Fortunately, I was able to hide it from everyone because I have a strong upper lip, and hides my teeth(white people don't usually have, I do thank god lol). However one day my front tooth cracked to the bone, there was no more hiding. That was the day my life changed. This is when I did like you said begin investigations on dentures. I didn't care anymore. I wanted to smile again. I have not done the procedure yet, but I am set for January 20th. My bottoms are perfect and pearly white. The tops are gone. So I'm looking forward to the pain just to be able to share laughter with my 2 children and rest of my family. No one knows how this mental pain feels until they experience it first hand. You keep doing what your doing, don't listen to these idiots on here. You are helping so many people change their mindset and essentially their lives. Merry Christmas you and your family. P.S. You are extremely gorgeous lol

Hello, I am a little behind here. I started watching late. I now believe I have seen them all. I deliberately set out to find just this type of video. I am midway in the process at the ripe old age of 62. I am also a Psychiatric RN. I agree with your philosophy, revealing does negate power. No one can hurt us with that again. I appreciate u putting this on RUclips. Something I could not do and thankfully I don't have to. You go girl! Two thumbs up for you. You are a great inspiration to me when I listen to you talk about your dentures. I recently got dentures myself and you are right there are positives and negatives when using dentures. And it most definitely isn't something you go get done just for the hell of it either. Because there is nothing better than your own teeth in your mouth. However, unfortunately for some us dentures is the only solution to having a beautiful smile again. At this momentI, I am not confident to tell the people I know that I got dentures because I am still in the healing process of getting them. However, by listening to you talk so confident about yours takes that embarrassment I feel inside of me in wearing dentures. As soon as I heal and begin to speak better I will tell those who ask me or are wondering if I am wearing dentures. Thank you, for sharing your videos and God bless!

Thrilled u made an update!! I started watching ALL your videos about 2 months ago and at that point got real serious about having my remaining 14 teeth pulled. I have 1 permanent bridge in front on the bottom and a partial on top for the front. Due to medication i was on it caused my teeth to crumble on the bottom both sides that had permanent bridges also , thus nothing for bridges to connect to. Due to money I was never able to start getting work done. This month I purchased dental ins. But now comes the fun of finding a "dentist" that will pull the remaining teeth and not give me the song and dance that an oral surgeon has to pull them. Shoot there's nothing to them!!!! My son's dentist does ALL extractions but doesn't take the ins I got. But if need be you best believe that I will get the ins he does take in order to get them pulled. I am a YOUNG 64 yr old and always took pride in my smile. Sorry to say I no longer smile. I will have to save for 3 to 4 months get the top done then do the same for the bottom. But at least I'm able to see that possibly within 8 to 10 months all this can be behind me and I can enjoy smiling again. I don't qualify for care credit due to a 23 marriage gone bad due to having a beater of an ex which caused my credit to go from a score of never lower than 750 to less than 500 now. Thanks so much for posting your videos for they are truly what got me motivated and gave me HOPE. I also live on Fla. In the Tampa bay area. Peace. :-)

I can't thank you enough for makin all these videos.. I have been wanting to go back and start from the beginning because I am 44 and am at the point you were when you began. I've had trouble with my teeth all my life, (bad teeth run in the family) I"ve spent thousands over the years to try and save them. I then got sick when I was 20 and in the last 12 yrs I lost my ability to swallow 90% of solid foods and that brought on malnutrition which have completely rotted my teeth. I've lost most of them and what is left is broken.. So my husband and I are trying to save the money, (we are both disabled and on a fixed income) to begin dental work. I've been told I am not a candidate for implants and will most likely end up with full dentures but its going to cost almost 6 thousand dollars and we don't even have a savings account so for me it's going to be quite a while before I can begin.. So again, I can't thank you enough for these videos...You are a very brave young woman who strength radiates to the rest of us.. Thank you so so much for these videos.. And by the way, you look absolutely beautiful.. XO

SimplyMe1970 Thank you so much for the kind, thoughtful words. This is a tough battle that, unfortunately, people don't quite understand unless they experience it firsthand. I definitely understand the struggle! Answers and solutions come so much quicker and easier when we aren't clouded by the emotion of it all. I think I finally developed a solution for myself after I finally decided to stop crying, stop feeling bad and take charge by any means necessary. Even if it seems like you are going around in circles, even if it seems you keep hitting the same dead-ends..... when you approach it with an unstoppable attitude, things happen... opportunities come out of nowhere..... it's crazy. Just keep faith that everything is for a reason, everything is a learning experience and every battle we win is a triumph that leads to a better, stronger, and more capable *us*. You are beautiful and deserve a beautiful smile! Good luck!

i have been dealing with many teeth issues over the years and wear a partial ,now the rest of the natural teeth are slowly and falling giving me grief and eventually fall out, my partial is held on by paste. i need to make the jump and go for dentures but i wonder about the dental assisted method, i may have lost too much bone. thank you for posting your video, you were not alone Im 42 and been dealing with this issue since i was in my 20's. all the best and you look fabulous :)

I love you so much... I have "cosmetic" upper dentures I still have bottom teeth, not all of them.. And just like my upper teeth they're in bad shape and need to come out, atm I have a really bad abscess, I got my denture in 2010ish and since then I've almost forgotten how bad a toothache or abscess is, even though I suffered all my 20s with bad teeth and infections..I'm going through it again. All along you've always been in the back of my mind. You've been a huge huge inspiration to me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Got my dentures today, both full upper and partial lower. Dentist removed my 4 last teeth from top and placed the dentures immediately, so I didn't had to be without teeth. These fit very good, even though eating and talking is bit challenging. Its bit weird to have mouth full of teeth after having just 4 upper teeth for some time. I'm just 25 and male. I have had celiac disease since I was child, resulting bad teeth and because I don't drink milk. I should have used supplements, but oh well...
For the first time in my life I can smile once my remaining teeth are fixed. Bottom teeth can be saved and I just needed partial.

I'm sorry but I have to comment and be honest here. Some of what I say will certainly rub some people the wrong way. I grew up with an uncle who was a denturist. I worked for him for years and helped him in fabricating dentures. He taught me a lot. I don't think you are wrong in what you say, I just think you don't understand a lot about the long term consequences of your decision to get dentures. i understand when people have bad teeth they would like to get dentures and have a nice smile, what they fail to understand is all the underlying issues that only come to light a few or more years down the road. You'r teeth and surrounding tissue...bone structure etc make up the shape of your face and what you look like. Having them removed changes things long term. If you must get a denture get a top, save your bottom teeth at all cost. Implants in your lower jaw will stop the resorption for awhile but they will eventually have to come out. Implants are not the "save all" they were once professed to be. They have a limited life. eventually you are looking at resorption whether you want to or not. When that happens you start getting that "tiny lower jaw" look. I can spot any denture wearer 10 miles away who has a top and a bottom. In 5 years a person looks like theyve aged 10 years, in 10 years they look almost 20 years older. SAVE YOUR BOTTOM TEETH PEOPLE. Do not listen to people telling you full dentures are a good idea, they arent. With a well made top denture made to match your bottom teeth color wise and shape wise no one will even know. I've seen the same scenerio played out over and over again. It happens to "everyone" who loses their bottom teeth. Implants are bullshit and require constant maintenance and money to fix the damn things anyway, costing as much or more than to fix your bottom teeth....keep them. I don't think any of these "New denture wearers" making videos on youtube are trying to mislead anyone or giving false information. I just dont think they understand the long term consequences. And of course they don't, they haven't had their dentures long enough to fully understand yet even though they think they do. Once your face starts sinking in, it's hard for the denturist to get you to look they way you should again....even with just a top denture. You have to be diligent and really take charge with a denturist and learn the difference between a denturist....who is also and artist....and a denture tech....who will stick any blocky looking peg teeth in your mouth. I'm fortunate to know the difference. I have a custom made top plate with 6 porcelain front teeth and plastic back molars so I don't wear down my real bottom teeth. Its perfectly matched color wise and tooth shape as well to my bottom teeth. Be very careful in choosing a denturist. Don't let a dentist do it, even if you have to go out of state find a good denturist.

hey Lonny why would you have to to pull your implants out after a short time?my uncle had his lower and upper implants placed 40 years ago in his early 50's hes 93 now and just this year he lost his implants to infection.if you take good care of them keep them clean and have a cleaning done every 6 months they can last a very long time and keep the bone from reasorbing. also today compared to 40 years ago they must be a lot better at placing them now

Serf Pezz There are exceptions to every rule. Have I ever seen anyones implants last 40 years? No. Is it possible? Sure. Everyone has a different physiology and their body will react in different ways to a foreign object being placed into it. I'm not against implants or dentures. I'm against young people thinking they are the best option. They aren't. You're own bone structure is. I know dentists are expensive. I also know everyone wants a hollywood smile these days and thinks dentures are the cheap answer. In some ways they are, until you add in implants and the maintenance and bullshit that will go with them over the years. I know a women who is 62 who is getting her teeth pulled and dentures....implants on the bottom. Is it a good option for her? Yes, at that age. If she were 26? No. Lets face it, when your teeth are finished they are finished. But what happens with a lot of younger people is their roots can be saved. I tell them to get what's called an overdenture. Have your dentist root canal and save your eye teeth roots on the top then cap them. Your own roots in the socket with be far better than an implant. Then on the bottom have them root canal your bottom eye teeth roots and two back molars and cap them off. So essentially everything above the gumline is gone, but you still have your own bone structure. Dentists hate to do this, they want you to pay for implants. Theyll tell you all kinds of bullshit about your roots rotting under your denture. The only way they will rot is if you dont brush them everyday or the dentist doesnt cap them off properly. That's how you should do it if you must get dentures and you are young. If you just get straight dentures, no implants, no roots of your own, that's fine as Samara said. But you will lose the shape of your face, there's no getting around it. another thing about losing your teeth and getting implants and then appliances attached to them is everything lining up correctly. I can tell Kalinjax work doesn't quite line up just by the way she speaks. There's something a little bit off. Your moth is engineered by nature in such a way that everything lines up and works together and makes you look like you. You start messing with it and I guarantee you will rarely find a dentist who can line everything up properly. With a bite force of 250psi even if they do things will shift over the long term. This is all my opinion based on my own experience though. You should go with what you feel is right for you. Every person should.

    • @72dragona
      @72dragona 10 лет назад

So tell me your opinion....I am 42 my gums are receding, teeth are falling out slowly,no pain, roots attached. I do not take care of my teeth and brush everyday like I used to because it seemed like brushing made things worse to my decomposing teeth ( I know I am wrong and stupid)
I have never had my teeth cleaned because there were always more prominent issues.I have never had the money period to pay for this issues so they were let go...I don't have a grand to spare whenever,no credit to speak of,no family wealth, I do have insurance but it's nothing that will help the thousands of dollars that I need help with.
I grew up with no dental help period,I am an absolute wreak, yet a gold mine for a dentist
My Dads side of the family has a history with dental issues and they had dentures by my age....Is hereditary a connection?
I am so scared right now...I just lost a front tooth (root still attached)

Another great video, I have told you before that your videos are what convinced me to go for a beautiful smile which I now have You are so right, about how getting this done boosts your confidence, although I am learning how to smile again. I was lucky I sailed through everything, no swelling, no pain, no bruising, and was eating pretty normal within 2 weeks. I am 4 mos out now and my dentist says i am ready for my perms. He could not believe how well I have done. He says if he didn't know I was wearing[dentures he would never guess it. He says I was determined from the start. That is thanks to you! I felt like I had a cheerleader rooting for me, if I became impatient or frustrated I would just re watch one of your videos depending, I just kept telling myself over and over if Kristi can do this so can I. This was by far the best decision I have ever made and I have no regrets....Thank you so much for putting yourself out there to help people get through this. Dear kalinjax, I really admire your courageousness of making a video about something that a percentage of people in this planet are going through. I look at your teeth and I admire you. I am 22 years old, I never breastfeed because of my heart's valve problem and my iron is low. I am a vegetarian, yes I won't lie, I eat a small amount of sweets every single day, nothing like a spoonful of sugar or like the whole chocolate. When I was a teenager I used to drink soda, but when I realize that I was going far away I stopped it. The main problem with me is that my teeth are not in a soo dramatic way but, when I was 15 years old I had my first aponeurosis. Then I had two more at the age of 17 and 19. Thank God since then I didn't had anything. But I have problems like small decays, small like white lines under the teeth (lower jaw) and some on the upper side of the teeth (upper jaw). I feel bad, cause I have like, the decay is not like, in the middle of the teeth, is on different places. Most of them are filled with gray filling (mostly the back and some on the sides) and the front with white filling. I also put one crown on 2012 and another one, two weeks ago. My dentist told me, cause of my birth problems and not breastfeeding, my teeth will stay like that and I have to put now 2 more crowns. But I really feel bad cause I am doing everything as possible to keep them healthy, I brush my teeth and use flossing but still it makes decay no matter what and it kills me. When I saw you smiling for your new Dentures you can't imagine how happy I felt for someone who can smile again. I am trying to smile sometimes but it kills me for not having the teeth I always wanted to have.. Healthy and strong, not matter if they are perfect. I only wanted healthy teeth cause, one way or another, the whole body system can be show by teeth how healthy it is.

All of your videos are so helpful and instructive.. but my problem is the fear associated with having the 14 (remaining) teeth extraction for denture placement. I am 76 years old with COPD so general anesthetic (or even IV Versed) for sedation is not an option. I am limited to a pre-op of Ativan an hour and a half preceding the event plus whatever local (novacaine I suppose) the DDS uses. I never had a bad dental experience before about 4 years ago when I had a tooth extracted (front) and I cannot describe how painful it was.. that dentist was a ghoul, really, and ruined me for future dental work.. I must have this work done, I am committed, but it's being dragged out by inches.. I have two more appointments before the Big Day, and I am really beside myself. My dentist does not seem concerned and feels the lousy Ativan pre-op will suffice, but my knee-jerk response is to disregard this. Have you ever spoken with anyone who has had this procedure using just the local with a pre-op?
Many thanks for all your useful and supportive information. It's wonderful for you to share so much, I'm sure you do more good than you know.

your NOT the only person. Mine are terrible and Im a police officer. I deal with people everyday. Mine are not as bad,...but still pretty bad. Im so lost and terrified preparing to get dentures. Implants are out of the question....not in the budget.

I haven't shared on youtube of my bad teeth problems and as you had said about your own teeth, there was no saving mine either. I actually got my last 6 teeth pulled yesterday. My dentist says I have a 3 month healing period before I can get my very first set of dentures. I'm 35 and wish I had done this a lot sooner. I was curious to find anyone else going through what I'm going through. I wanted to say something on youtube, but like you said, the internet is the most judgmental place.. ever. I'm scared of what others will say about me because of my once-upon-a-time bad teeth. And now that I have no teeth, I don't say anything on youtube in front of the camera. I have no excuse really to justify why I let my natural teeth get so bad. I live with that regret and I can't change my past. All I can do is to let my gums heal so that I can focus on the next phase.. getting my very first dentures. Actually, my insurance can only cover the uppers because my insurance doesn't have enough to cover both, my teeth extractions took up a good bit of what my insurance had covered. I'm going to have to wait until January before my insurance can cover the lowers
