      It'll probably change a little just based on trends, my oldest has 10 I've seen even the more timeless looks change a little bit based on trends.

    How did you get through the summer with only 3 t-shirts on a toddler? Especially a little boy!! They can go through that in one day! This is not meant as "shaming...more marveling! You must really really be on top of your laundry!

    I love this! My son is 12yrs old and he loves to have a minimum amount of clothing. He's a jeans and t-shirts kind of kid. He has 5 pairs of jeans and about 7 t-shirts (5 plain and 2 graphic t's), one hoodie, one denim jacket, and one winter coat (we live in Georgia, so our winters aren't extreme). My hubby and I are the same. I never stress about laundry because we have such minimal clothing (we are a family of 3). Your kids' clothes are so cute!!

      @@elizabethpappas6802 That is what i was wondering as well. I have two kids and their clothing for a week of wearing fits in one load. I know that people try to be sustainable but doing laundry all the time because they don't want to buy some extra clothing is may be worse for the environment.

I’ve recently been under the impression that potty training before 3 is more hassle than it’s worth-with the exception of those few kids who naturally take to the potty really early.

    Super interesting what you say about pjs for kids. I thrift almost all my kids clothes but it’s kind of the opposite for me: I try to get organic pjs more than the rest of their clothes since they are in them for a long time, overnight, and they are right up against their skin. I feel like other clothes that they change in and out of throughout the day don’t matter as much. But that’s just my opinion. I love watching these kinds of videos, thanks for posting :)

    • @rianneprystupa
      @rianneprystupa 5 лет назад +4

      Svitlana Ivanenko I agree. I thrift most of my kid’s clothing but thrifted jammies feel worn and uncomfortable. My oldest daughter even expressed this when she was only 3 and since the material of pyjamas wears and pills so easily, I definitely prefer to buy them brand new.

    • @tiffanywheeler48
      @tiffanywheeler48 5 лет назад +1

      I sort of see your point but unless they run around naked, their day clothes are in their skin just as much weathers it’s 1 shirt or 4 throughout the day. 12 hours in 3 different shirts is really no different than 12 hrs in 1 shirt.

    I love this! I was wondering, does your family get clothes for your kids for their birthdays or Christmas? If so, how do you manage that? My mother in law tends to buy way too much and things that we don't love (we are kinda picky). We end up donating them or giving them to a local women's shelter so they aren't wasted but I was curious what you do/if you have been in that type of situation.

    I will definitely try going to a thrifting store. I have a son 6y/o. It is insane how much money I spend just on his clothes alone. He grows out of them easily. With 4 seasons in a year, it’s insane having to maintain his wardrobe. I love dressing him up, I love how he looks like a little man. but it’s insane how costly it can get. But yes I do agree with the Roots socks and hoodies. They are a staple & they hold up so well, and my son loves them.

    I love your videos and how informative yet understanding of different people's situations you are. I feel like a lot of times people (of any topic or lifestyle they appreciate) get into the mindset that their way is the way for everyone but I think you're doing a great job of just showing what minimalism is without the pressure.
    ALSO, I'm really curious as to how cute and clean your kids clothes are. Especially since you mentioned that a lot of Elizabeth and Calvin's clothes are hand me downs and have gotten a lot of use out of them. How have you been able to keep the clothes in such a good state despite the usual wear and tear (stains, dirt, etc.) that young kids often cause their clothes?

I live just a short drive from our local thrift store, and so I love going there a lot, occasionally I go to good will, but they are over priced on some stuff. I did find my daughter a beautiful dress from old navy at goodwill for 2 bucks. A cute osh kosh shirt fir two bucks, both items should fit her until atleast 2021, then they will be handed down to my new neice. All of my oldest sons nice clothes are being handed down to both my daughter and my youngest son. If I want new, I shop clearance normally.

I am curious whether it is a bad idea to thift newborn cloth or not? What are the necklaces you are wearing in this video? They are so cute!

    All your clothes still look brand new! How do you get stains out of the kids clothes so they are still in good shape to pass down to the next child? That’s my issue, I would love to buy more ethically sourced items but I seem to need to replace them before my next kid gets it.

    How often do you do laundry with so little clothing? And how do you do it to make clothes last the longest? Thanks :)
