So they all have the same mother, they are mythical creatures so I don't think so I assume their way of reproducing doesn't have to work like humans since they are considered supernatural
“You shouldn’t have had to give up your voice to be heard”. What a legendary quote
And it's TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun fact:Halle Bailey’s hair flip was filmed about twenty times or so. Halle had to have help with the iconic hair flip because her hair was heavy considering that she has locks. Someone was underwater with Halle actually helping with the iconic hair flip
I'm happy they kept it
I feel like they should have had a second wig that had the illusion of having that volume of hair, but doesn't contain as many locks to prevent it from getting so heavy you get whiplash. She was seen as a silhouette illuminated by the sun. So it could have hidden it better while making it easier to move.
I’ll admit this, when Part Of Your World reprise part two played, I felt the pain. I was genuinely sad for Ariel.
Fun fact: The woman in the marketplace that gives Ariel the "dinglehopper" is Jodie Benson, the original voice for Ariel in the animated classic. Such a nice "passing of the torch" if you ask me.
Kinda like the 30 celebration of beauty and the beast Paige o hara made a cameo gave H.E.R the book
Wow, I didn't know that because I'm french but finally, it doesn't surprise me.
It'll be impossible to make a live action without the original voice of one character
She always kind to people, especially to new generations
I whispered “That’s the original Ariel.” to my mom when I saw this at the movie theaters. Seeing her in the movie made me wonder if the original Eric was also supportive of the remake, or did Disney not tell him.?
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan Éric isn't as important than Ariel in the animated movie
In the scene where Ariel whips her hair back when she comes above water for the first time, Halle said she almost broke her neck from how heavy her locs were and needed help to push them.
Javier said once on an interview that a magic affects the mother's womb and that's why they're different ethnicity, not because Triton's busy but because the seven daughters are destined to be a ruler of that specific ocean from the beginning. Remember the scene of Tinkerbell's birth?? The scene where the different objects are presented by the faries to determine what kind of fairy Tinkerbell is. I think in a way that's what happened to Triton's daughters.
I liked Prince Eric’s song in this remake. It felt like he was singing to me. No, the original Eric didn’t have a song. They chose to do the same thing they did with Aladdin. Give the character who didn’t originally have a solo song a solo song.
Some interesting facts
Scuttle is voiced by the person who voiced sisu from Raya and scuttle is a diving bird instead of a seagull
And flounder is voiced by the person who played Luca
In my opinion it’s the best live action and I like it better the original
I like that change, Scuttle being changed into a diving bird so Ariel’s first time going to the surface will have more meaning and Ariel has her own gal pal
me too
I agree with every word.
I loved this remake! Halle was amazing as Ariel, and her singing is phenomenal! She didn’t deserve to be hated like that. Jonah Hauer King is HOT!
I love Jonah. He was perfect as Eric.
@@Disney65Fan Me too. It felt like he was singing to me when I listen to his song on the soundtrack
Her singing was never the issue, her acting is dreadful tbh
@@rydbthatsme except you’re not being honest. You are masking what really bothers you. I don’t get the fuss y’all make about her and the movie. Y’all are so ignorant it’s becoming boring.
Yeah, he is HOT!
Fun fact: I went to the movie theaters twice to watch The Little Mermaid. The very first time I went to watch the movie everyone was applauding near the end of the credits, because everyone LOVED the movie. It was amazing
When I saw this movie I was OBSESSED!! Honestly I thought Chloe (Halle’s sister) should’ve played Vanessa because Halle and Chloe sorta look alike! And in the little mermaid Vanessa looks like Ariel but with brown hair!
This movie is one of the best live-action remakes Disney has ever made! Halle Bailey really does make a GREAT ARIEL!!!
I love how they make it a more realistic relationship and crush with Eric and Ariel. Sharing joy for things they both love, falling for more than just being saved. The actors got chemistry
From animation to live "Under the Sea" is still the masterpiece.
The market when they dance and playing music. That is a theme from Caribbean. My mother's side of the family were from the Caribbean island: Puerto Rico. I wanted to visit there one day to learn my heritage, the language and the family traditions. One day soon
Honestly, I prefered that music than the one in the animated movie
I LOVED the little twists that they added, like Ariel not remembering that she needs to kiss Prince Eric. I loved how they changed it up some
Yes, and I love the fact they made of Éric the equivalent of Ariel
that was 🤮
I absolutely loved this film! It definitely pays tribute to the original film while still making it its own! I really loved that they kept the concept of Triton and Ursula being siblings; I only wished that they would’ve expended more on it like they do in the musical adaption. The the acting as well as the songs were phenomenal! I definitely love how they had Ariel and Ursula make a a blood pact, as opposed to the contract for not only solves the plot hole of her being able to write her own name, but it also cements the seriousness of the deal. I really hope that Hallie and Melissa receive Oscars for their outstanding and talented performances!!!

Personally, I prefer this one over the cartoon. I like the cartoon. I was a child, but I wouldn't watch it again as an adult. I think everything was perfect about this movie in Halle Bailey was a perfect aerial. I purchased this one. I don't have the cartoon version though.
Halle Bailey did a great job in the little mermaid remake. Halle Bailey was made for the role for Ariel, and her singing is really incredible and wonderful.
Fun fact : her astrologic signs is " fishes " maybe that's a sign she was made for that role
Ok she was great but she wasn’t “made” for it. That’s going a bit far 😅
@@ruarikelsey1793Tell that to the director who literally said he saw Ariel during her Grammy performance with her sister and again during the audition. She raised the bar so high that no other person could reach it.
I hope Halle Bailey gets an award for The Little Mermaid during the MTV Awards
This movie didn't deserve the hate it got before it was released in theaters
Yes! Plus Halle is such a sweetheart.

When I saw the smile of all the black children when they watch the trailer or during the premiere, I felt very proud.
I'm a black woman and I grew up hating my frizzy hair because no Disney princess had the same or was like me
Ariel and Eric’s chemistry is 1,000,000 times cuter in this movie than it is in the original one.
That's what I prefer in this movie. Their relationship is more credible
@@a.g.demada5263Yeah
@@morganghostbusters-egonfanI liked the moment with the culture exchange (I don't know if that's the good term because I'm french) between them
@@a.g.demada5263Culture exchange can be both good and bad. It’s okay to learn about other cultures. Who knows, you might like it
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan I meant I liked when Eric and Ariel share their knowledges
Did you notice that the beginning of the movie there was that quote something about A Mermaid sheds no tears so she suffers much more and in part of your world. Ariel did not shed a tear, but she did at the end of the movie because she was human and not a Mermaid
Halle's version of "Part of Your World" was absolutely phenomenal! I think that was my favorite moment of the movie. I also really liked all the nods to the original fairytale. There was alot more in this version then the animated one.
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO MEAN TO HALLE BAILEY! SHE'S CUTE, HAS AN ANGELIC VOICE, AND SHE PLAYED THE ROLE OF ARIEL WELL. SO, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? 😭💖🔥
One word, racism. People would expect one of their favorite Disney Princesses to be played by a person that looks like the animation version. When they don’t see that, they go “angry mob” mode.
@@SpacialRend7 THAT IS SO HORRIBLE AND CRUEL! 💔
@@elindayana8174 Sad and unfortunately true.

Halle Bailey is absolutely phenomenal in this movie. And I’m not just talking about the singing part but also the acting part
Then you lied to yourself and others about the acting cause it’s trash
@@rydbthatsme And what makes u so sure?
Yes, her eyes are so expressive!
Her facial expression when she doesn't talk are some of the best I've ever seen.
i don't care what anyone says halle was great as ariel i stand with her against the haters that hated her being cast as ariel
Do you think that the fact her astrologic sign is " the fishes " was a signe she was made for this rôle ?
As a color woman, I cried when I saw the movie and I felt that the little girl in me, who grew up hating her frizzy hair because no princess Disney had the same, was finally represented
She's now one of my favourite singers/actresses.
Great singer dreadful actress
23:31 I’ve been to a few Caribbean Islands,
So I can safely say that they’re culture is somewhat like this, and it is beautiful!
I hope melissa gets an award for playing this Character she did really well
Team Ursula was the best part of the whole movie when it comes to acting
@@rydbthatsme yep
There is a cameo appearance of Jodi benson who originally voiced Ariel from the animated version as she gives Ariel the dinglehopper.
Oh my god I didn't know because I'm french. That's the perfect " passing the torch " moment
It was like a Stan Lee cameo in a marvel film.

The ONE thing that disappointed me about the live action version was that it didn’t have the French chef. I still sing “les poisson” any time have seafood
Triton did not have 7 kids with 7 different women. They all have the same mother.

One of the best remakes. I especially liked Under the Sea for the visuals and amount of unique sea creatures included.
The one I waited the most at the moment I hear Halle's voice (I'm french but I had the chance to see the trailer in english first).
And when I saw it, the little black girl in me finally felt happy to see a princess looking like her
rather one of the most decent, but it goes in the mediocre
I like how this movie paid homage to Hans Christian Andersen with that text from The Little Mermaid book. That was a nice addition to the film.

Scuttle was my favorite character in this movie, she’s like Ariel’s outgoing, street smart, and sweet big sister 🤍
She always made me laugh, especially in her own song 😁
the character was ruined and that song was the worst thing

her voice is INSANEEEE❤️🔥
I need more ppl to talk about it cuz I never thought it was possible to do so many different things with your voice
As with many live action Disney remakes, this did not deserve the hate. People are so naive and overreacting.
They had professional dancers play the CGI sea animals for Under The Sea as reference for their movements.
Nostalgia is a strong drug
And Disney became the biggest dealer of all
I am so glad that you reacted to this movie! I actually loved it when I went to go see it in the theater with my aunt but I also love the animated version and I always will
I had chills when I saw it and I cried in the end when all the merpeople appear.
I'm a 29 years old black woman and I felt like the little girl in me was relief to finally see a princess looking like her
“Nothin beats the animated version.”
I love this version and Bailey surprised me by being really amazing. I still wish redhead girls had gotten the live-action Ariel they should’ve had 😔
Nobody is walking around with bright red hair tf and their still white so I’m sure they have plenty of representation.
I think what he means is they should have made her hair brighter red. That was Ariel's iconic feature.
3:57 The animals in this movie don’t look so bad matter fact I even like Sebastian’s look and flounder isn’t so bad either
I realize that Daveed Diggs, voice of Sebastian and Jacob Tremblay, voice of Flouder were in Wonder.
"Evil cannot create anything new. It can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made."
This movie was great it’s crazy how racist people were being towards Halle as if it’s her fault she had a better voice then everyone who auditioned and a the personality of the character. We continue to live in a world when there is so much representation for yt people they even get non black roles but as soon as a fictional character who was yt gets changed to black all hell break loose. It’s a very one sided reaction cus nobody cares when it’s the other way around long as that actor has the talent right??
Great singer, absolutely dreadful actress
Every time I see big Ursula I think about that one battle in Kingdom Hearts 😅
Thank you for reacting to my new favorite movie! 💕
Before this film, Prince Eric had some songs, but only in the Broadway musical called “Her Voice” and “One Step Closer.”
My wife and I and her sister saw this movie and we really enjoyed it
Oh my god! Tysm for reacting to this! One of my favourite movies this year!
Esta película no merece todo el hate que recibe, es una hermosa película 💔
I believe I told you this when you reacted to Finding Dory but this movie it's the best Disney live-action remake in my opinion
Halle Bailey such a great Ariel her singing and acting is amazing and the cast is really good at their rules in my opinion
Also fun fact The Little Mermaid that Prince Eric gave Ariel in the movie Halle Bailey got to keep it after filming
Such a great movie! I really love all the changes made and truly feel like it's a new standard to the live action remakes. ALSO - all the sisters have the same mother and father, it's just magic and mermaids that they're different tails (human appearing) races and all lol

I can't understand all the hate. I was 11 when I saw the original and I love it. Of course, I still think the 1989 film is way better than the 2023 version, but I can live with either version.
Maybe because of changes and because of it, not following some of the original, that’s why.
I know some people still respect the actors and actresses, but due to everything else, it’s almost as if they’re letting the hatred and negativity blind them to decent effort it’s not perfect, but it doesn’t deserve to be choked out to death

Timothee, would you consider one day reacting to "lyle lyle crocodile " 2022 one day?
I read an article how the movie was made and it was so fascinating
This was a masterpiece of a movie
Songs Good,
Not bad movie but animals strange
Every animal need characteristic like the classic Little Mermaid ,and need Disney Magic for kids and adults
Though I love the original more, I actually like most of the changes they did for the live action
I went into this film with an open mind and in my honest opinion, it turned out alright, better than the most recent live adaptations from Disney anyway. Some of changes compared to the OG film did strike me as odd, but for the most part I had a good time with 2023’s The Little Mermaid.
Surprisingly decent movie, answering questions that the animation left unanswered, though still being soulless, 6,8/10.
Note: I am not ashamed to say that the part where Ariel plays with Eric's lips when he is trying to guess her name made me laugh my a$$ off during my first watching.

They should make a new television show reboot spin-off that’s based on called Isabel of avalor starring Jenna Ortega alongside Jacob Tremblay as flounder Daveed Diggs as Sebastian and Awkwafina as Scuttle
They left out the “body language!!” 😢
I liked what they did with Sebastian. Yes, he is still a little creepy, but the fact that the creators gave him a mouth made him more human.
I think the best way you can enjoy these remakes to the fullest is if you accept that they are not meant to be exactly the same as the original. None of them.
