The Tyler Perry movies without Madea in them are the ones that i feel go deeper into human emotions. Madea is like the old school grandma comedy relief but with movies without her feel like they pull no punches with the character's traumas and how the character either figure it out or dig deeper.
Agreed, this one feels very above the others. It had something to say. The relationship between Kathy and Alfred was something around his usual that feels elevated and really beautiful.

I love that you guys remembered the 80/20 rule. That is a real thing, by the way. It's called Paraeto's law, which states that, for example, Sales are based on 20 percent of products or customers generating 80 percent of sales, and Storage is based on 20 percent of the products occupying 80 percent of the space, etc. Sanaa Lathan (Andrea) had a hard time being so mean. She wanted to soften her lines a bit but wasn't allowed to. William (Cole Hauser) looks just like his dad, Wings Hauser. Wings was one of the main characters from the early days of The Young and the Restless. Taraji P Henson and Alfre Woodard have played mother and daughter here and also on Empire.
I’m not a Tyler Perry fan however when saying that I always mention how much I love this movie. Maybe it’s Kathy Bates & Alfre Woodard because they can do no wrong in my sight. Idk but this one was a great moment for Tyler.

I can definitely understand the confusion about the Nicholas subplot because it does throw a lot at you at the end that it took me years to understand too. In fact, I think I JUST pieced everything together just by watching this reaction. At first, I was like “wait, so mama was a millionaire this whole time and her family ain’t know?”😂 Anyways, while most of this stuff does happen off-screen but judging by the context clues given to us, Nick was good at his job, REALLY GOOD, but William couldn’t have that. Because everything we know about William, we know HE wants to be the best at the company, so he got rid of Nick so, that there wouldn’t be any competition on who could lead the company. Which ended up being ironic to William since he did end up getting fired and replaced with Abby anyways lol. With William gone, Nick was able to get his job back and I’m guessing that was enough to wake him up from his funk/depression since he has something to live for again and hopefully he gets his kids back. Now Alice being added in all of this does get kinda muddled but at first, I just assumed Alice and Charlotte was secret partners of the company this whole time ever since their first meeting where Charlotte said Alice refused to sell her diner to the company (which probably would have made more sense). But, like I said, it’s been established that Nick is good stockbroker and it’s been established that William is a egotistic, jealous, bitter person so it is plausible that Nick was giving Alice great advice that led to her having some shares in the company.

Generally, a senior leader can't fire an employee who works for another senior leader. For example, the COO can't fire the personal assistant of the CEO or CFO, etc. Especially if they are hired from alloted budgets for an executive or their department. Reminds me of when Chandler got Joey a job but could fire him because he worked for another manager in the company.

Cole Hauser (the son) is a great actor. He was in Pitch Black with Vin Diesel, Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis and a bunch of other movies.
And as a skinhead in Higher Learning
And he now plays Rip in Yellowstone.
Mr. Hauser is also a major character (Rip) in Kevin Costner's series Yellowstone.
@@ChefcorkyOh my goodness 😳 I 💕 Yellowstone I have watched the seasons over & over & I didn't recognize him in this movie wow 🤯
@@philburton2223 Yeah, I've seen this movie a handful and didn't recognize him. But, probably because he's a redhead in this film and Rip has a dark beard and cowboy hat. He's also in "Good Will Hunting" as on of the buddies that hung around with Matt & Ben. 😃
Set It Off (1996) is another great movie to get into!
Bro yesssss!!!!
I'm so impressed by your open minded approach to watch these old TP movies & I enjoy rewatching them with you too..great content.. new sub..LOVE from Germany 🇩🇪🖤💖
Love this movie! Fun fact: The actor who plays Kathy Bates son is Cole Hauser, also starred in Higher Learning, among other movies. And he also plays Rip on Yellowstone.
There's no way that's Rip😮😮
@@Gugul_it yep it is!
also Paparazzi
truly his finest work. my favorite TP Movie. he got the best cast, best casting and the scenes were top tier. To have Alfre Woodard AND kathy bates, truly moving. it's been 15 years since this movie and it still tugs at me. I feel like this is connected to his series he had on own: the have and have nots. Anyway, a movie i nominate you two react to is Spike lee's do the right thing. Thanks
Definitely gotta watch Why Did I Get Married Too next!
Cinepals talks about Tyler Perry Movies the way every movie critic should talk about Tyler Perry Movies … I love how Cinepals is actually critical while others are like “it’s funny 😅” cause everything goes over their heads . I just found this page with the first Tyler Perry and I’m loving this content
Well I can see why William Cartwright lost everything and changed his name to Rip Wheeler and started working on The Yellowstone Ranch
Best comment ever!!! We love Rip!!
Watch “Set it off” next
Yes!
lol that’s a jump they not ready for that procedure !!
This is Tyler Perry's best movie 👏🏾👏🏾
Nice being able to pick up Tyler’s affinity for the Color Purple and the church scene parallels. So satisfying you recognizing that.
The speech the Cartwright wife gives her is the same speech, essentially that she was giving her husband that he wasn't good enough.
'A Thin Line Between Love and Hate' with Martin Lawrence and the great Lynn Whitfield. If I recall, she plays the hell out of the villain role!
Whenever I am not feeling well, I watch your videos and it makes me feel so much better. You two are amazing!
Damn I forgot Rip was the villain in this movie. He’s sooo cool in Yellowstone
Robin Givens, Taraji P Henson, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, and Sanaa Lathan is an iconic cast. Alfre Woodard and Kathy Bates in the same film is ICONIC.
While Andrea was wrong Chris taking all her money was insane
Putting his hands on her was even more insane. Keep your mf hands to yourself. Idc how mad you are. Control your emotions better.
@@cinemeleon2808 that’s what I was thinking I can understand his anger but he was also wrong 👍😮
@@cinemeleon2808thank you!!! Everyone always cheers about that slap or punch whatever it was, but I’d rather her get hit by her sister or mother than husband if she had to be hit at all.
I agree he had no right to take her money
I was thinking the same thing he took her money and now is giving her pity hand outs of her own money lol and then she has a masters degree in finance and worked at a top company like she can’t find another job?
45:16 Not me and Jaby saying "get the other cheek" at the same time lol. This is such a great movie, and definitely fav TP film.
I forgot how phenomenal Tyler Perry once was with his old movies and yet still classic to this day. There was always real lessons in them and they were always God centered. It's unfortunate how much he's changed and did a whole 360.
...do you mean 180?
@@chaybunny. Nope. I meant a whole 360 degrees. He changed completely. Barely recognise him anymore regarding his content. And I recognised that change in 2017/2018 when he released the movie Nobody's fool and then later series Sistas and The Oval. These were a huge turnaround to who he is now. He totally sold out to Hollywood.
@@leratomoloi3113 Agreed. All he cranks out now are ghetto soap operas versus actual good content.
He changed? Are they not as god centered? Because if I’m being honest, those parts of the movies got on my nerves. 😂😂
@@AlastorsShadowDemon I'm sure you'll enjoy he's new direction then.
The amount of reads and cold lines in this movie is epic stuff🤣🤣🗣️
I love when these two react to Tyler Perry films! It's my favorite!
My favorite Tyler Perry movie 🩵🩵🩵 Kathy Bates is a beast in this movie, love her character
9:14 this killed me!! 😂😂😂😂
It was on this exact part when your comment popped up😅
Yes!! Glad you enjoyed this. This one is one of my favorites of Tyler Perry. Great cast and story Thank you for all you do.
Love these reactions. I recommend "The Best Man"
I remember seeing this in theaters . The whole theater cheered when he hit her over that counter.😂
Oh and have you watched Hidden Figures it's not Tyler Perry but man it's an amazing movie that I believe every person should watch it's so great 👍
So.. I stumbled upon your channel and I've now watched your reactions for almost 8 hours and I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for highlighting these black movies.. I love how your commentaries at the end and how you delve into what you feel and have learned from the movie. I truly love your reactions. Thank you!!!
YASSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the one i have been waiting for. this is my personal favorite tyler perry film.
This is why I love these reactions ya'll do because it opens up my mind to watch movies that I never did on my own. And these Tyler Perry movies have been fantastic.👏🏻 this one has been my favorite so far too.
They are really great movies. This one and Diary of a Mad Black Woman are two of my faves.
