Jon catching the -96 throwback Hov is why I watch. GOAT.
So many Jay-Z elements in the Big 3 that goes unnoticed but now I see how the BDK and Rakim fans must have felt when it happened to them.
Cole absolutely killed the Dead Presidents sample. Song is a perfect response to the entire situation.
For the 3rd time
Dead Presidents sample and Cleo Sol sample
@Dropnostop I believer for the 4th time tbf?
It's really not, Cole saying "I woulda won" when he did in fact drop a doozy and apologized, is laughable
@@gabehereHow are people not seeing that 😂😂
"I would've lost a friend".. He says this after making people go off 1 weekend questioning Kendrick's discography.. It's pathetic
This reminds me of his mixtape music. I needed this…hip-hop needed this
wow this dude owns so many houses
1. Draft kings is a sports betting app. The was a entire basketball scheme you missed
2. He’s talking about RUclips reactors egging on the beef because they profit the most from the beef
I never thought that Cole backing out of the battle made him a bad rapper or anything like that, I don't think anyone was doubting his skill. But it did make me and a lot of other people think "I don't want to hear that 'I'm the best' talk anymore". And it sounds like this beef made him realize he isn't actually interested in being the best anymore. I guess we'll see when the album drops
Thats crazy cuz he still is the best. Everybody glazed kendrick so much that kendrick is stupidly overrated now.
@@Crrooked981 That is so not true. If anything, people are getting caught up to speed about how good the guy is. He's always had the better discography, and fans always knew that.
Grippy made him bad but so glad that was a one off
@@Crrooked981 oh brother
@@Crrooked981nah.. The best should move accordingly.. Not move like how he is moving
on boy, your ear is fucken dangerous! I realized the piano from Dead President after you mentioned it...
Cleo Sol sample ain’t being appreciated enough. Perfect on dead prez
I knew I heard that from somewhere 😭thanks for saying that
Jon discovers time zones
I was happy for once that my insomnia worked in my favor to witness this track dropping in real time on god.
felt this so much lmao
Great response to this entire situation
what a catch on the reasonable doubt beat.
Cleo Sol sample on this one too ...this beat so smooth
Cole bodied this, even if I don't agree with all of the sentiments rapped about here, specifically, this whole "I could've won if I wanted to compete" 😂😂😂. Yeah, that's not gonna fly with me. I'll always belive part of the reason he apologized was because 7-Minute Drill, Cole's "warning shot" to Kendrick, was super mid and landed with a thud.
Also, I'll go on the record here, and we can revisit these comments as things transpire, but the Drake/Cole friendship bars aren't going to age well. Cole seems like a very nice guy who's genuine, but he's also very naive. Drake's a maladjusted child actor, confused and conflicted biracial, and has a vindictive personality. That Karen-esque temper tantrum he threw the other night at that Toronto club about his "real friends" is indicative of that. Mark my words, Aubrey's gonna snake Cole, if Cole allows it.
Cole did great but I do think some hardcore lyrical hiphop fans are going to disagree with his stance
Cole rapped over the dead presidents beat twice before on his old mixtapes!
Each time I see a new video, I'm excited!
bot
Cole is the embodiment of I have no enemies, he’s there purely for the art and culture, he doesn’t give an f about the narratives and what being pushed.
Although being this indecisive and not choosing a side could lead to him getting shot in the middle of the conflict, not literally obviously.
That would make sense if he could not handle himself if he had no option but to "fight"
Turn into nuns
He sounds very decisive... He's not picking a side, he likes both of them.
@@alexanderjackson8389 yea, but since Kendrick don’t fk with Drake, and then j Cole says Drake is my 🥷, the goes to kendrick acting all friendly, feels a bit off. I hope you get what I’m trying to say
Cole talkin out of both sides of his mouth. This would mean ALOT if he didn’t drop that 7 min drill. He corny.. he can rap his ass off.. but he’s CORNY.
The sample is from Jay-Z "Dead Presidents"...and the original sample is from Lonnie Liston Smith "A Garden of Peace"
Really enjoyed this, just wish he never would’ve got involved in the disses to begin with. Excited to see what else we get after he had time to think.
Everyone is forgetting Metro, Future, Ross, Rakim were going at Drake not just Kendrick.
So kendrick dropped em😂
Man this was so cringe like how u gonna dip before the beef starts and then after the smoke clear talk about some “I woulda won tho” so corny.
🤣 word
I think it would be weird as hell to have a problem with what he said, people who hated on him for dropping out take the beef stuff way too seriously when it has nothing to even do with them lol
Love the video Jon as always. Question does anybody know how to get that background for a green screen?
What is up with these guys and dropping only on youtube😭
View I think there’s more money with RUclips view then streaming… or with RUclips you can just drop when ever. And it’s free so more people can hear it!
@@Mr.Levvels dont you think it might be in the ablum
@@unclebobbyI have a feeling this is going to be a loosie. Not on the album. Cole may not even put this on streaming. If I'm remembering correctly, some of the recent Kendrick and Drake songs were RUclips and IG exclusives, which weren't uploaded to streaming sites.
Damn, that Amazon Prime bar went completely over my head 😅
J Cole went full circle. My GOAT
Correct me if I'm wrong, only heard it once but 1st verse about kendrick and 2nd about drake? He addressed a lot and the bars were just insane! Didn't catch half of it but jon has got us!! ❤😂
** end of the first verse about parents ** being about kendrick
nobody near him right now, he's incredible
So Kendricks claims on Drake is constantly coming up but Drakes claims on Kendrick is swept under the rug?
Both claims have no proof yet one is constantly brought up - it’s weird to me
Love Cole but he is so self righteous. As if he hasn't been subbing anyone for the past 10 years . And I actually think he would have lost the beef . Because he ain't prepared to get that dirty . Great rapping tho . But drop the Big Bro act
Agreed I can’t help but feel what we see from him is all a facade and nobody actually knows the real J. Fold cause he’s always flip flopping.
@MU5T1991 I agree but I don't wanna slander Cole because he is a phenomenal rapper. But he's borderline patronising and hollier than thou
@@Maka5velli yeah it’s very disappointing and this is coming from a day one cole fan. I always had him as my goat and defended him through all the years when fans would his music put you to sleep. But this, this I can’t defend. It’s dishonourable and quite frankly as a man makes me sick.
This is all well and good but are we getting the Rome Streetz reaction on RUclips?
This track is very good but what he said about the beef is bullshit. He jumped straight into the beef, made an ass diss track, realised he was about to get smoked and went running before he did. You’re not a “loaded gun” that you chose not to use, you used it, missed and ran away. That part is rewriting history
Nah. The reason he missed is he held back. He talked about how he felt taking a weak shot at KDot and his catalog. He already owned the L when he gave the apology on stage. And to say he ran away means you didn’t listen to this track about him choosing friendship over a fake/manufactured battle with his people. Stop trying to push this lame narrative 🙄
Are you planning on reacting to Sampha's Lahai Deluxe?
Cole is a master of his craft and this is a brilliant song, but the problem with him backing out of the beef is that for YEARS he has rapped about how no one can go toe to toe with him. And the first challenge that arises he backs out of… still love him though
Cole maintains being the most relatable rapper probably ever unironically
Lol how?
The “search primes” bar can also be the movie Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) where the auto bots basically had to go back in time to search for remnants of a Prime bot…I think, not completely sure tho
J. Cole deads colonizer false narrative on Drake in two lines. Real dude
Jcole was the only one bringing up the big 3 FOR THE LAST 2-3 YEARS. Cole spoke on multiple tracks his position in the 3 . This 🥷 was stirring the pot , started a fire and walked away …… came back later and is like “ omg there were kids in there” 🏡
now he wants to frame it like he’s to enlighten for competition and public opinion
Right so have a Tmz beef is the way to show he's the best??
Cole been rappin with all types of rappers from lyricists to traps dudes etc. He's clearly about the music. Idk why y'all want him to be beyond that.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cole was ALWAYS about healthy competition, e.g. on features ("he ask for a feature, he sees the face of the reaper" etc etc), but not about clout-chasing, below-the-belt, deviously personal beef like Drake and Kenny had. He saw it coming, with wild baseless accusations and kids and families being dragged into it. And he said: I'm not doing this. I'm not losing a brother over some beef that is way deeper than the healthy competition I've been stirring up.
To understand this song you have to understand “January 28th”… to me all 3 have the crown just for different reasons… battling has never been requirement to be a or the top rapper have great songs and verses with other rappers is how you get it and the route he wants to take.
I do not understand why people think you MUST engage in beef in Rap.
You never fail to keep things interesting!
bot
The song is mid and message is hypocritical. He dropped a diss track, deleted it, apologized, now trying to act like he's above it 👎🏽👎🏽. We all remember 7 min drill and it was TRASH.
I think he's corny for defending someone that clowned him. I think he plays the victim and is defensive, like drake. I think he's looking for relevancy after taking an L, like aubry.
Awww cry about it🥺
This post is kinda harsh 😂😂😂. But damn. You're not 100% wrong here. Cole's a perpetual fence-sitter and passive aggressive personality. He has no real convictions when it comes down to it. People like that, even when they try to stay "neutral," always end up getting in the way. We'll see how this plays out. Dope record tho, and I can't wait to hear what Cole's cooking up for "The Fall Off" album.
Bruv, everyone’s made a mistake, quickly realised it and made a better decision.
Something your parents should’ve done when you were conceived.
Cole is so Nasir Jones, true lyricists
Opinion is Opinion but nah ion see kendrick beating that man on his best day and kendrick know that
I don’t think “Ay Drake you’ll always be my 🥷” will age well.

Cole world
This is a fenomenal move from Cole. He can now swiftly move on and start with a brand new slate for The Fall Off. If he hadn’t made this track, a lot of people would have tried to bring in the beef again when the album drops
"You can never please everybody"
As everyone hates him regardless.
There is those fans like me who would love his music regardless as if I was the only fan left in the world. Il still go offline and listen to all 3 and respect their craft but rn J.cole is just undeniably amazing
This track is fire and he’s still one of the best🔥, but this makes me nervous for the album. I think it’ll be a classic, but idk if people will value or give it fair shot due tot he beef…Regardless of this fire track; We’ll see👀
Jon is so biased.
React to fire squad - j cole
You think Cole would be shouting out Drake in public if he really believed any of the accusations Kendrick and everyone else was trying to throw on him? You people must be brain dead.
Sweden of rap
Cole must know that now that Drake is out of Kendrick's way He is next on the list and they can have a more civil battle. We need both of them to get into sone lyrical warfare I'm getting tired of Cole and his excuses.

"Il never respect or listen to Kendrick/Cole/Drake"
Like bro are you listening?!😂those who enjoy hip hop rn the most are those who fuck with the craft and not all the petty stuff
lol Jon cmon man you honestly still believe all that bullshit claims on Drake ?
I understand your point Jon about Cole saying Drake is his boy publicly with what happened in the Kendrick beef and the allegations. But surely the same applies the other way right? I mean there isn't any more or less proof than Drake is a pdf file compared to the Kendrick allegations that he is a domestic abuser.
There is a landslide difference in the evidence of each case. There is nothing apart from Drake's song to suggest Kendrick is an abuser. There are entire YT documentaries detailing Drake's gross proximity to underage girls, taking them out on solo dates, renting out entire restaurants for their dates, and taking them alone on his yachts. He also paid for a female Canadian kick streamer's equipment, and appeared on her (xosnoh's) actual livestream. Her content is purely going on omegle type sites and asking girls if they want to flash the camera, disregarding their age and lying that she is livestreaming. Drake also had to settle an SA case for over 300k a few years ago. Drake is at the very least a groomer definitely. Drake is 100% a weirdo. There is nothing to support the idea that Kendrick is abusive.
I don’t understand why most people take Kendrick’s allegations as fact and gospel AND just brush Drake’s allegations of Kendrick aside when Kendrick’s allegations against him are way more outlandish.
There’s definitely some questionable things Drake has done, but calling him a PDF, saying his house gonna be raided, etc. is next level and way too far without proof but yet everyone just believed it anyways. It’s so sad man, people no longer think for themselves.
Huh? We have hrs of material of Drake being a perv around minors. Drake has a track record that make him look like a groomer. He also has Baka.
Drake has nothing anywhere close to proof or even establishing a pattern.
@@nvrmnd4567 i’m not tryna defend him, I’m tryna look solely at facts.
calling someone a pdf is VERY DIFFERENT from being a creep and perv though. Perv and creep still bad, but pdf is next level
It would apply if there was no proof on either side but we have Drake on video making out with an underaged girl on stage and multiple underaged teenage actresses on record saying he texts them or has them over to his mansion all the time.
No proof of any of the accusations that Drake made about Kendrick and those were somewhat debunked by Kendrick’s Not Like Us video
The big 3 ranking is not solely about rapping ability because if it was Cole would be 1
Tell me you dont know hip hop without telling me you dont know hip hop. I love cole, but kendricks penwork and flows are much more complex
Big 3 isn't even real. It's just some dumb thing he created and put himself there and now everyone goes along with it for some reason.
@@clarkyoung6970 it’s extremely clear that you are a massive Kendrick fan. If thats your opinion that’s okay. Kendrick’s storytelling through his bars is what makes him elite but when we just talking about pure bars and introspection I think j Cole got it especially in the last couple of years. Maybe it’s recency bias since Kendrick hasn’t really dropped anything crazy, other than the beef songs recently.
@@clarkyoung6970 also J Cole’s flows are definitely sonically more appealing
@@clarkyoung6970complex because he uses big words. Cole raps in more complex schemes than dot and has so many triple entendres and says so much more with less words so it’s a matter of preference. Cole technically is better and sonically better for some
This a love letter to deake. This ain't it. Just move on.
I think it’s pretty obvious the dirt slung during the beef was bs
explain
Disappointed in Cole’s approach here. Like stop with that verse. Passive Aggressive. Backhanded. Keep trying to be a friend to everyone and you will lose both. Fake. Everything else wouldve been better without addressing the beef again.
Him still being good with drake is gonna backfire. And I think he burned his bridges with k-dot because everyone knows how much he hates drake.
@@mrmouse9476 Exactly. And now he lost both. Drake Fans were already feeling a type of way since Cole was jumping on all those recent features and saying he is with the opps. I’m sure Drake feels the same way. He’s unfollowed folks for less. Still wanting to be down with Drake with everything that’s been shared is a red flag. Good Luck to J. Cole. Go talk to your brother who hasn’t learned & now aiming at Jay-Z. Choosing this beat is ironic. Stay consistent.
let's be real here, anyone who are upset at this are either grown ass men who take it too seriously or kids that don't know better
Cole asked…what would Jesus do? He realizes that all we have in the end is our authentic character. Respect…he could have gone scorched earth but after the adrenaline wore off…what would we be left with? Drake helped Cole attain his dreams…he’s not gonna shit on that for clicks and likes. Cry about it.
You shouldn’t be reacting to real hip hop.
“Nothing been proven, no charges no accusations” but also “wow it’s crazy Cole would align himself with Drake I get that they’re friends but that’s risky”
Bias is crazyyyy
Jon's not being bias. Hip hop as a community is very much against Drake at the moment. J cole is taking a risky move mentioned Drake and saying they're solid.
@@highmm2696 my point is that hip hop as a community is against Drake because of UNFOUNDED CLAIMS from a RAP BATTLE, and unlike us, Cole knows Drake, and knows that’s what it is, so he’s comfortable enough to align with him. People aren’t distancing themselves from Kendrick for being an abuser because those are also UNFOUNDED CLAIMS from a RAP BATTLE, but for some reason it’s only risky to align to Drake. That’s bias.
This literally shows both sides of the argument. Saying nothing's been proven, but also saying even without proof, aligning yourself with Drake is a risk. How can it be biased if he explained both perspectives?
@@aricockrell4557 because he would never say it’s risky to align with Kendrick when Kendrick, according to Drake, is allegedly an abuser. Again, I don’t take those claims seriously at all (until something comes out) because it’s a rap battle, the same way claims against Drake shouldn’t be taken seriously (until something actually comes out), because it’s a rap battle. The bias is that only claims against Drake are taken seriously when again, they are just petty claims from a rap battle. Literally just gossip, and Cole, who actually knows Drake, also knows it’s just petty gossip but people on the internet want to act like they know things J Cole doesn’t.
Note - my bad if this comes off as aggressive I just see too many bad takes on Twitter and don’t use it myself so I’m taking it out here 😂
@@aricockrell4557 "Nothings been proven, no charges, no accusations" is factual, but it's not opinion of the hip hop community.

I don’t care what anyone says: Cole might be a smarter man than Kendrick Lamar.
What?
??? Kendrick played the ultimate chess move and ruined drakes career and boosted his own. He is at the top of the world right now so what are talking about. Jcole fumbling and made a big mistake which he admits, he is not smarter than k-dot. Besides kendrick had a 4.0 in high school so he is objectively smart.
@@mrmouse9476 there’s nothing wrong with making a mistake and then correcting it afterwards. While nobody is saying Kendrick isn’t intelligent, there are levels to this. Being smart enough to outplay an opponent is good. But being smart enough to rise above the chessboard and see who benefits from the game is next level. It’s the same problem us Black folks have in life. Some of us fight over colors and territory. But very few of us rise above the pain to see we’re living in a place that’s not our home and who stands to gain from locking us in cages. Naaaah bruh. Cole’s intelligence is next level and this proves it. Kendrick is good for the battle. Not disputing that. But for war? A higher intellect might be needed.
KBots incoming
There's no real life metrics to support the claim that Cole is remotely a part of this "big 3". Even if we pretend that there is a big 3 and those would be the members, J Cole is so far away from Drake and Kendrick in any possible standard that it's completely nonsensical. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE just put himself there out of nowhere. It's really a pointless thing to say.
ps: I don't like Drake. I like Kendrick, and JCole.
Mind you, if you go by preference you could put Smokepurp or whatever in the big 3, so that OBVIOUSLY is not a valid argument.
