Thanks for this! This is a great video and something I've been waiting to hear as I'm just waiting for my medical to come back. At 41, I need to put in a lot more effort than I did 20 years ago, but I believe I can get there. I hate running, but don't mind HIIT and stuff. Better fill that backpack up!
I got fit to one day soon hopefully join the British army. It’s my dream so I trained with the greatest army in the world, my cousin, a U.S. soldier by training with him every day.
I have the assessment day beginning of August currently doing strength training 4 times a week as well as this I’m doing 3 cardio sessions a week which include interval training 5 min warm up (jog) 30 second sprint and 30 second walk for 10 sets then I will also do a 10k run and I will go on a bike machine for an hour trying to slowly increase my distance and the intensity on that also then occasionally will throw in a 2km best effort obviously I do these cardio sessions on separate days to allow my body time to recover but still feel I’m not doing enough 🤣🤣 I think it’s jus me getting in my own head tho pretty sure I should smash it 💪🏼
See with me it's the belly. I am fit, can run and such and keep up with the best of the younger lads but can't lose the belly. I do worry that it's the inevitable dad bod 😂am a tad grey now but like I said, am fit and fine. Just got podge. Front Leaning Rest is my relax place hah love it. Nice video sarnt, cheers! 👍 🫡
@MilitaryFitness Very true. To touch on that actually, what would you say is the better diet to help with cardio workouts? I tend to hike and jog alot and do like to use boots and a heavier pack as I've found it helps with endurance. However I do want to do better and if you say diet, diet it is. I am thinking what with Europe how it is, I'd like to get fitter now and get a head start. Am thinking the Reserves would be a good shout and when needed can step in and bypass waiting for call-ups and such. Long as I'm not sent to the RAF, will be content 😅
I have my assessment date for the 19th to 21st September but i was wondering if you could give any advice on the maths and English test as i have to do it at the assessment although not to sure how to revise for it
Hi , my 13 year old daughter wants to join the army , do you have any advice of how she can start to get fit but it’s safe for her age as I’m worried she might get injured?
so last year i was going on 9-12+ hikes and i took diazepam to help with muscle cramps, i decided to do a 7 day water only fast (autophagy) after a few months of doing hiking as id read the benefits of doing a strict water fast. on day 5/6 (i had only drank water and nothing to eat, did not sleep either at all) i began to feel (from full of energy) to weak and my muscles seized up, i took a diazepam and what not to break the fast and i had a seizure. would this be treated as provoked and assessed individually ? thanks in advance - tried to keep as short as possible
@@MilitaryFitness thankyou other than the values and standards and the basics of my job role is there anything else i should research and know for when i join?

It’s diet as we get older. Cut out the sugars etc.

Honestly mate its just basic knowledge i think one of the math questions for me was which is the 20p out of all these coins
It’s dependant on if you need it for the trade you are choosing or if it’s the basic maths

my medical record just states "provoked seizure" - but its pretty clear why i had a seizure...

Hi just wanted to ask if the beep test is differently easier than the 2KM run itself?
I prefer the beep test but others prefer the 2km run. It’s personal preference really.
Can you wear a day sack at night?
Unfortunately not, it will explode when the sun goes down.
