  • Did you know that most people do the simple chin tuck exercise wrong?? The way it's commonly taught doesn't really activate all of the muscles it's supposed to and can cause only one or two segments of the neck to be engaged. Dr. Lin teaches his favorite way to do the chin tuck exercise!

    Why is almost every single rehab/chiro/physical therapist on RUclips so damn cocky?? Every single one is like "YOU ARE DOING THIS WRONG, ALL OTHER RUclips VIDEOS ARE LYING!!". Can't you be a bit more humble and realistic? Like "if nothing has worked for you so far, you could try this and see if it helps", or something in that direction.

      You probably being doing it wrong. Please don't go into extension or extreme . You can gentle use this method because I notice you might have been jamming your vertebrate in that process. Try to put on finger beneath your jaw and another finger at the back of your skull with another hand. Then, try to use the method of using the finger at the back of Ur skull to lift it up and use the other finger beneath your jaw to slight push back. This way u re stretching back the c-curve back to its normal place rather than jamming it. If you don't get it. I can drop my WhatsApp number to illustrate on short video clip

    Have a question...so many ppl, ie docs, therapists recommend chin tucks, chin nods. I read if you have a reverse curve in the neck (cervical kyphosis), that it can cause the spinal cord to stretch and shear. Doing a chin tuck with a reverse curve can tear the spinal cord up! Worse part yet to come, our spinal cord doesn't always feel what is happening. You can damage it daily for years with out knowing. Do you agree and would your exercise, which I like better apply to that? Thank you

    • @grumpyguss
      @grumpyguss 2 года назад +1

      These exercises are a tiny fraction of the amount of force needed to do anything like you've said. The chin tuck is about the most recommended exercise for a reason....because it works and patients don't break their spines as a result. It's a gentle exercise.

    • @lw7654

      @@grumpyguss continuing to read more info contradictions whether true or not chin tucks can hurt you. It may cause BP issues. If you have a reversed neck curve and do them again from what I’m reading, that can cause damage.

    • @wytishacarter7856
      @wytishacarter7856 11 месяцев назад +1

      One would have to exert an enormous amount of force over an extended period of time to shear the spinal cord with chin tucks. Common sense would lead one to stop because of the pain produced before that would ever happen. He has demonstrated a way to perform chin tucks that minimize overexertion. Performing chin tucks to facilitate more cervical spine alignment is far less risky than continuing with a forward head position and the domino effect of issues related to the misalignment.
