  • Diastasis recti is extremely common for women who are or recently have been pregnant, but men can also experience this too. It can be uncomfortable and unsightly and your regular doctor won't do much for it besides prescribe physical therapy. So Dr. Lin is sharing a couple of at-home exercises that can help reduce that abdominal separation!

      Exactly the same here but possibly worse. I’ve been suffering from this condition for over 20 years because this usually happens to women and none of my doctors ever diagnosed me with this condition. I had been doing crunches and other exercises that only exacerbated the condition. No one ever told me how to fix the condition even after I was diagnosed with it. I am just now starting my recovery. I feel cheated of so many years of health.

    i'm thinking time is best spent with exercise three. The first two are just massages. Im sure that has an effect, but I feel (actually feel when doing the three) that the third clearly will have an effect. So why spend time doing the first two, when that time can be spent with more time on #3? I'd rather take 10 mins on 3 a day, than 5 mins on each one and probably would get better results IMO on the 10 mins on 3 and 0 and 1 and 2. I'm really glad I found this. I'm going to try it a month and see what happens.

    How do you differentiate pelvic floor dysfunction in the groin vs. inguinal hernia stemming from years of daily oblique weighted crunches? No bulges just 3mm swelling both sides of pubic bone also affecting bladder. Still able to lift 495 for reps on deadlifts yet crunches make symptoms worse. I ask because the talk today implies hernia. My urologist thinks overactive pelvic floor(only symptom is bladder/testicular pain), childs pose and happy baby stretches help along with ultrasound on lower stomach for pain.

    I am a Crohn's patient. Dx for 20 years. Two ABD recestiona and have three finger wide D.R. None of my Drs care about. I now have a umbilical hernia from my most recent resection. I also put on 50lbs after my last resection. My guts were finally doing the job, but I've gotten fat. One surgeon wants to mesh nearly whole belly and says that will fix the D.R. as well as my hernia. But I don't know where to go for a second opinion.

    • @lenoredavi6137
      @lenoredavi6137 10 месяцев назад +1

      Research the potential complications of mesh.... you may decide against it. There's a lot that can go wrong over time.... mainly fascia issues and chronic pain from what l have read.

    I literally have zero ounce of strength in my core/glutes muscles, thanks to a big decade of being sedentary. I'm still able to walk and use a couple flight of stairs, but any other functional exercise in any body region is totally undoable, also thanks to a complete lack of coordination between my lungs and my main muscles. I'm not trying to become the next Hulk Hogan, but I only want to be able to do the most basic exercises, and if possible, appraise the "beginner" movements.
