The truck performs really well I've been daily driving it for the past few months with 0 issues
if you'd like to know more about the build and the truck feel free to ask!
If you just want to hear the exhaust skip to around 4:30!
I just happen to stumble across this video and instantly fell in love with the chop. I got a 4.8 2001 chevy and putting a cam in is one of my bucket list items. Not a fan of lowered trucks but she looks good tho
Thank you I appreciate that!
Lowered trucks the way 😮💨😮💨
Get you a 110lsa cam mine chop chops
Love the sound she sounds really nice
ive been doing research for my 2003 4.8 same style but ls model. i feel ya on those one wheel peels. thank you for finalizing my decision on cam choice for my application.
Trac control is rear locker
Bruhh she was running like a dream, all that bullshittin😂
a white version of my 03 . would love to get mine lowered and cammed, I even have the same wheels. Nice truck .
Damnnnnnn!!!! That truck sounds so Awesome!!!!!💪💪💪💯
That new rear bumper looks good , also I love that door lol 😂 work in progress lower it a lil bit more should do It
Truck looks badass. Reminds me of mine when it was stock. I’m on a 5/8 drop on 20” and lq9 swapped. Looking to put the same cam
Nice every build starts some where my truck is bagged in the rear with a 6 inch drop on the front fully tubed with headers and tune currently painting it and yes im the 16 year old that cant afford gas because i spend all my money on the truck
@@CarlosReyes-ec3fu lol
Good job on the build brother!
You say “Um” after every word 😂
Shhh don't tell anyone🤣🤣
Cool, sounds good. What kind of power did it make it the setup you have?
Nice 🙂👍 Mann I just rebuilt my 6.0 cammed and long tube can't wait to start mine hopefully today.
Awesome man!
I would love to see more of this truck. I have one very similar
Sounds like she was pissed when you stepped out the driver seat😂😂🙏
Love your build
Sounds like my 2500hd. . Nice truck by the way
What exhaust are you running??? Sounds good.
So this may be weird but I have 2008 GMC Sierra 5.3 motor and trans are completely stock has almost 270,000 miles on it. I’m doing the afm/dod delete kit and wanting to add either the stage 2 or stage 3 cam. Also adding cold air intake. Exhaust wise it is also stock with a borla Xr-1 muffler, I plan on adding long tube headers and a bigger stall converter probably around 2800-3200. Just looking for idea about price. A local shop quoted 3000 for just the afm/delete and tune. I can do the headers myself but it will mostly be a work truck/ driving it around the hunting woods. It is lifted 3.5” and has 33” tires. I’m wanting more pep and torque. Also want the throttle response to be a lot better it seems a little laggy/ sluggish atm. I’m open to recommendations on what I should do and shouldn’t. I’ve done work on the truck myself lift and maintenance wise but I don’t think I’m ready for the internal work. I also don’t have a garage to put it in while I work on it
She sounds meaaaaaan
looks clean man!!
Thank you
Sounds good!
Sounds good buddy
Just checked the channel man, i wanna see a driving vid of it! Stock trans and convertor?
i am in a 2008 silverado 4.8 currently getting a btr stage 3 also with stock stall and its my daily so we'll see how it goes lol
Just got my whole motor rebuilt, btr stage 3 cam and same long tubes. gettin the truck back Friday! i got a 2005 5.3. How much did u lower it looks good.
Stock in font an and 2" drop shackles in the rear
What’s is your exhaust. Is it just long tubes and straight pipes or do you have a muffler or cats and if so what kind just wondering bc I just ordered the cam trying to figure everything out
Rear step bumper, anything special you need when adding this? I have an 05 and would like to add the rear 2014+ bumper 🔥
How’s the daily on this? Debating on either stage 2 or 3 but I do daily mine.
Sounds good
Did you upgrade lifters, truniions, pusrhrods, and rocker arms ?
Do you have a link for the cam. Machine is sounding nice!
Recently bought my first vehicle and it's an 04 4.8L. Definitely have a cam on my list for sure
go 6.0 bro its not worth camming a 4.8L unless you plan on boosting it later and i know because i have a 4.8L as well
@@chrishansen7004 torque cam is best for the 4.8s
Man I'm in Alabama too wasup 🤘🤘
🤙🤙🤙
Me too...where yall at...I'm in shelby county
Nice truck BTW
Daaaaamn that sounds great. Any video on the exhaust?
I should be releasing one soon!!
@@JPar9577 can't wait.
Nice!
Can you do a video on how to install a center console?
With those long tubes did u have to get the off road y - pipe
you will or you can make one and have some cats welded in if needed. There's no spot to mount rear O2's I just unplugged mine and tuned them out. There's a bung in the center of the crossover for a wideband, you could weld a cat in before it, and then add a cat and O2 bung on the other side if you absolutely need cats. I got my truck registered where there's no emissions test and we tuned out the rear O2's and EGR since the long tubes didn't have an EGR port. Had to get a block off plate for the intake manifold for the EGR, that was tricky to find the right one. At first, I cut the EGR pipe, crimped it, and rolled it over itself a few times to make it seal up. Once I got the right size block off plate that took care of it.
About what did it cost to tune it for that cam? Wanting to pull the trigger on all my parts but cant get the tuners to call me back with a price
I have a 03 Silverado ss lq9. Built 4l65 awd. Long tubes. Has a mild cam. Can barely hear it. I was wondering if you needed to do anything special or can i put in a cam like yurs, also is yurs straight piped
Did you have to do any work to the tranny or torque converter
subbed so I can see more of this build
Thank you I appreciate it!!
Stage 4 is the way
Who did you get to tune it? I've got the BTR stage 3 In a 5.3 gonna be tuned in a few days can't wait to see how it goes
Local shop Gen 3 performance.
So did the cam add a lot of noticeable power
Sounds just like my old 4.8 tahoe
What part of Alabama? Because I'm in the Montgomery/Pike Rd area. The shop of you at the track looks like MMP, and that church looks like the one off Ryan Rd.
I'm up in the Etowah county area
Is this the truck cam? Or just the btr stage 3
I'm wanting a good cam for my 4.8 Silverado. Need something that can still hold some gas mileage since it's a daily driver. Just want something to give a choppy sound
Sounds good. Are you still running cats & O2 sensors? Man my state cops will burn us up for exhaust!!!!! I'm a older guy and gave up on some what loud exhaust I was getting pulled over monthly getting inspection tickets cost alot to fix
No cats or o2 sensors.
do you have a link or part number to the headers
I ordered them from the Speed Engineering website.
What your gas mileage do you daily drive it ?
Great job man thanks for the info
Are you running stock torque converter?
Is it worth putting a cam with that many miles mine has 260k miles same truck
How does your truck drive with oem torque converter
How much horse power do you make? And it sounds hella good
Made 315 to the wheels
Did you have to change the valve springs also??
Yes I replaced with behive style springs
Can I get the build list? Besides what you have listed
Looking for tips and tricks on my ‘05. Same as yours but crew cab 4x4 with the 5.3.
Can't go wrong with long tubes a cam and a good tune
What exact cam did you put
What did it make ??
Badass
how did you install the tahoe center console?
Also do the paint matched door handles
Oh yeah for sure
What torque gains did you get?
What headlights do you head on this bro?
what torque converter you running?
how does it drive with factory stall? stop and go? does it surge and want to cutoff?
Doesn't die out or anything when stopping and doesn't surge does push the brakes some but not to bad
@@JPar9577 appreciate that man! my btr stage 3 just got here and i was debating if i wanted to put in it or wait until i got a converter. guess i’ll try it out!! thanks 🙏🏽
What exhaust are you running in this video
Hey, are you running flat top pistons with this cam? I’m looking at running this cam and want to run flat top pistons but I’m worried about valve to piston clearance.
I'm just running the stock pistons here
Stock 4.8 pistons are flat top pistons just to clear up any confusion
Did u do the valve springs to or did u keep the stock springs?
I replaced the springs
You should never, never te-use stock valve springs , never !
I did it once and had to do the job 2x on a 5.3 new ls6 springs got valve float and lift was below .550
A friend did a 4.8 blue springs a cam with lift below .525 but that engine was shifting over 6500 rpm and broke a spring
You can get away with somethings but it doesn’t mean it won’t catch you at some point.
@@reyperez3424 on a stage one and some stage 2 cams u can use stock valve springs. Stage 3 and 4 deff need a lot stiffer spring or double spring
Do you recommend changing the the push rod also or my stock ones will be okay?
Do you have a part number or a link for this ?
Is this the v2 btr stage 3
What exhaust setup
I dont think youll need a built trans unless you want some aggressive shifts i got 228/232 turbo 5.3 making around 500whp with stock 60e super safe tune but lasted along time, once i hit 600whp i lost 2nd but at 315 you should be fine.
Let’s see how long that last
@@demarcusbody9437 lasted 3 years super safe tune shifts weren’t crispy but it worked, i ended up getting a 4l80e for $200 had it built with a triple disk turned the truck up to 800+hp till i ran outta turbo. But the 4l60e lasted a long time on a safe transmission tune i lost 2nd like i said above but it was just a worn out servo pin replaced it never broke the tranny just swapped it.
@@texasstreettunes1310 notice how u said it “lasted” anytime u beef up your motor it’s time to upgrade pressure/build your transmission running a cam in a stock transmission sucks absolute ass especially if it’s a 60 ask me how I know anything beyond that is just delaying the inevitable …..
@@demarcusbody9437 when i say lasted its because i didnt have high hopes of it living 500whp high rpm but it did great minus the shifts, i swapped it before anything broke only because i was on a budget to get a really nice transmission i needed that one to last. I only said i don’t think he will need a built trans. Not saying it wont benefit from one.
@@texasstreettunes1310 with performance mods if it can’t hold up its holding y back 🤷🏾♂️
More videos please!!
More!!!!
What console did you?
Tuned or untuned,?
How does it go?? Video?
I got a 2005 z71 crew cab I'm fixing to put that same cam I don't I may go with a stage 2 my truck was ordered with 410 gears front and back I wanted to raise it 4 inches put and put 38i
Inch tires
I got a Z71 with 4.10's and 3000 stall and I got a BTR Truck Norris cam. Makes more torque than stage 2 and towing cams, and more top end than stage 3 cam. Can use with a stock converter too.
What stall did you use? Also, what power did it make?
Stock stall converter
@@JPar9577 does it run good with the stock stall converter
@@JPar9577 I’m also curious if it acts funny on stock stall? Die at stop lights? Anything like that?
@@bensmith1601 truck operates great with stock stall only issue is cam doesn't make power at the lower rpm so its slow on take off
How u have ur exhaust
How much was the cam ?
What's the camshaft duration @50
You should put a roll pan on it way better looking and shed some weight
What headers?
how many mpg?
Do you have a stall torque converter?
No I do not it has a factory stall in it
is it a V2 cam or weekend warrior?
V2
Gas mileage?
Sounds like a 218/224 BTR stage 3
Good ear!
How is it running with the stage3
Runs great!
Any issues with brakes
It does ride the converter some so when stopping it does push the brakes a little but it's manageable!
Who done your tune?
Local shop by the name of gen 3 performance.
Horsepower gains with stock intake?
Intakes do nothing for these trucks until boost. Actually the stock airbox is better then a hot air intake 🙄
@@jaybiddle2615 I’m gonna be porting my heads and putting a tbss intake or fast 102 on my truck
So you didn’t have a stall converter in it
No stall still running factory stall
@@JPar9577 I have an 2007 cat eye so do you think I could run that same cam as you and with the stock stall
@@elimoore4704 yes you could I daily mine now I will say this without a stall it lacks some power down low and slow off the start and also it pushes the brakes some but it is drivable with stock stall but if you really want to get full potential a stall would be best!
@@JPar9577 what stall do you recommend - thank you for your time
@@elimoore4704 3200 rpm with this cam will work
Who tuned this?
A local shop tuned it
How much horsepower?
Made 315 to the wheels
What stall converter do you have?
Stock stall converter at the moment
Hows the drivability?
