The RUclips algorithm failed me. Just last week I put brand new EBC rotors and EBC brake pads for my stock caliper setup. For just a little more I could've done this?! Ugh, thanks for the great video. I am gonna be thinking about this forever now!🤣
Wow! I can't believe you use Hyundai Genesis Brembo Big Brake Kit to fit your FB6! I remember TL Type S Big Brake Kit can fit to FB6. Then, you are the first show about Hyundai Genesis! Good work!!
Thank you!
The Genesis works well on the 10th gen civic too. The mounting brackets line up
Most cars will be direct fit, the problem is if people are spending the time to find the right calipers
Exactly what I needed to see 😁
I have everything ready to do the conversion on my 10th gen accord!
Thanks for the video dude, I bought the setup sometime last year and recently coated them.. ill be installing them soon, glad to know it'll actually work lol
Thanks and you're welcome!
Hey by any chance can you tell me how much clearance you needed or need for these brakes ?
@@jonathansolis3899 I ran 17x9 +27 a tech wheels and they fit perfect. When I put nt03 18x9.5 +27 and I needed a 6mm spacer to clear
This Si🤩👍
Hey man, i really loved the look of your old grill and was wondering where i could get my own. its 8th gen style and i really like that. Love your build btw
Thanks. It is the OEM 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan Front grill. I just paint matched the top trim portion of it.
please upload again! im missing your content!
Appreciate the support! Hoping to start uploading more vids in the very near future!
Great build, color combo very classic Honda racing! I have a question as I'm stuck undecided as to which to choose from situation. I have RL calipers with brackets setup to go on my 7g Accord coupe but seeing this makes me curious about the Brembo options. Was there a big performance difference in your experience (between RL vs Brembo Genesis)? And what was reason for changing? Pad choices? Thanks in advance
Awesome video man! Think I’m gonna go with this setup as well! By chance, do you think they’d fit with stock 2012si wheels?
Thank you. I would think you'll need a spacer to clear the stock 2012 si wheels.
Hi.I have a 2015 Civic SI.If I upgrade the brake master cylinder to a acura TL types S one I have to change the brake booster because the bolt pattern change. The TL brake master cylinder will not fit 9th gen civic brake booster. What brake booster should fit on the 9th gen civic?
What sizes of wheel I need? What’s the offset and dimensions of yours?
Would it fit a 17x7.5 ET50?
Hey bro nice video, I was wondering ifthat would work in 2018 crv awd?
I was one of the first to do this swap, works great, especially when it’s all direct fit
damn, looking GOOD! 17x9? is there and sort of rubbing at full lock?
No. No rubbing at all. Fenders are rolled.
No BMC upgrade? mushy pedal?
I got a google drive folder for 10-11th gen civic BBK clearance template if you want
Would a 25mm hubcentric wheel spacer be too aggressive? Looking to work with what parts I have laying around
You didn't use the centering ring that came with FFC kit ? How big is the hub on the civic ? I know the 68mm center bor of the rouge rotors are too big so I need that center ring for my 06 TSX.
Nice video bro. Do you think this would fit on a 9.5 gen Accord. I plan on going boosted will like better stopping power 😅
I believe these will fit on the Accord as well. I've seen these on accords and 10th gen civic si as well. I'm just not sure if any extra parts are needed to make it work.
where did you get the rings from for the rotors my boy
Nice video. I appreciate the details. Did you have to replace your master cylinder or brake booster?
No. Still running the 9th gen OEM BM & brake booster
Appreciate it!
How much clearance is need for the whole brake kit ?? Just wanna know if i need spacers for my wheels , i have 18"× 8.5" 35+
Where did you get the hub centric rings?
What are your exact wheel specs? Currently running 17x8.5 +38
What wheel size and offset do you have, I got the rl calipers but won't fit my stock wheels
Would this work with RSX/DC5?
What year car do those come from
Are there any bigger rotor options for this setup? If I’m not mistaken the 350z brembo rotors are 324mm ehich can be used on Acura rl big brake swaps for Hondas, with that being said are there any benefits to doing this upgrade over the rl one? Are the caliper pistons any bigger and do they out perform the rl calipers in harsh driving scenarios like at the track I’d love to know some more info on this
When I did my test fit, it seemed like the 350z brembo rotors would work. They are slightly larger, though, as you mention at roughly 324mm.
From my personal experience from switching over from the RL to the Genesis BBK, the initial bite and feedback from the genesis bbk is much greater than the RL. They are both 4 pistons calipers. Also, an upside to running the Genesis BBK is that there are no additional brakets needed to mount the calipers. The RL calipers are bulkier too, so wheel options are much more limited in order to clear the RL calipers.
will it work on a 11th gen civic?
Looks great!! Quick question, will my stock wheels clear this ? Or do I need to get aftermarket wheels with proper offset ? Thanks!
Stock wheels will not clear. You'll need to run a spacer.
I have wheels with +35
18" × 8.5" do i need a spacer as well ???
Cant say for sure, because it depends on the spoke design as well.
Will this work on the 8th Gen Civic??
@staylurking Which Brembo calipers do you get from the Genesis, the front or rear calipers since Genesis has front and rear Brembos?
Front pair
@ 6:33 you removed the oem center ring....did you put it back in there after new rotors installed?
that wasn’t a oem center ring he had a different kit, oem brakes won’t have a ring
late to the party, just curious what are your wheel specs. I'm trying to figure out if there will be any fitment issues up under stock wheels
Hey man i have a 9th gen and im looking to upgrade to a bbk but i was just wondering if the stock brake mc in our cars will work fine.
Yes. The stock MC will work just fine. If you want to upgrade the Acura TLS MC is a good option.
I’m looking for the rotors that you mentioned, and I cannot find anything about a Nissan rogue that has a 3rd row
Nissan Sentra Ser calipers work as well that’s what I’m running
How much clearance do you need for that brembo set up ? @SIJAWN
Does it matter if it’s rear or front calipers
Yes, it does.
Can I use 300mm tsx rotors with this calipers
You'll most likely experience some brake pad over hang and not sure if itl'll fit either.
You don't have vibration issues since the center bore of the Rogue rotors are not matching the hub?
I haven't experienced any vibration issues. Car drives and stops like it should.
Is t that what the hub center rings are for? What size is needed again?
What offset are you running because because I did the set up on my car, but my wheels cannot fit I’m running 18 x 8 1/2 with 35+ offset so what offset do I need to get for the wheel to fit without spacers?
Although specs are an important factor in clearance for the bbk, many people often overlook the spoke design, which is just as critical and needs to be taken into consideration as well.
I mentioned all the specs at the end of the video. 17x9 +27 but this doesn't necessarily mean that another wheel in the similar specs will clear. Hope that helps.
Did you find out what offset would be needed?
Do u happen to know if that set up clears the enkei RPF1?
It does
You forgot to install the rotor centering ring...
Can I use a different rotor that is 320 mm or does it have to be Nissan 3rd seating?
I believe you can, but don't quote me on it.
@@StayLurking thank I’ll try and if not just send it back
How did it go?@@XeroDash0
What about rear are they plug and play aswell
?
Rears are not plug and play. Will need a bracket to mount. Plus, I think you'll need to keep the stock calipers along side it in order to retain the ebrake as well.
@@StayLurkingOh thank you! It was driving me crazy theses past days since I watched your video and proved it was a direct fit. More so you gave me some knowledge I couldn’t find myself.
Did you had to replace the master brake cylinder when upgrading to the brembo kit ?
No. I'm still running the OEM BMC.
Ok, thank you.
I’d think you’d get better pressure from the larger BMC. I started my front brake upgrade with the 06 TSX BMC. BIG difference even before the bigger brakes went in. Just a thought…
@@waverider5751 did you have to bend the lines for the TSX BMC?
Will this setup clear oem 14-15 si wheels?
Also really hoping he’ll reply to someone about wheel clearance
No, this will not. You will need to run a spacer for it to clear.
@@StayLurkingwhat size mm spacers would I need
Stock wheels are not meant for BBK's, so you'll probably need a 20-25mm spacer.
I wonder if this would work on a 8th gen si
It works!
Yea, it should work.
Howre they holding up? I hear they make a lot of noise from the 10th gen forums
They are holding up fine. And no weird noises for me.
thank you@@StayLurking
Non related question
But do you have a dash cam on your 9th gen?
Yes I do. I'm running the wolfbox dashcam.
@@StayLurking might need a video on that wiring and kit you used boss 😅
@OpTicMinds i actually have the videos for it, just need to edit it. 😅 hopefully to upload it soon.
@@StayLurking ima be on the lookout 👀 hopefully soon
Thanks for the reply 🙏
Will the calipers work with stock 8th gen rotors?
No, you need 320mm rotors.
@@StayLurkingthanks
Bolt on for 8th gens as well?
I’m curious too cause I got a FA5
@@JavaughnDawkins1997 it works. Bought a set for mine
@@mysticcrushgamers6736 you went with his exact same set up right?? If so can you drop me a link for the rest of the accessories?
Can you give me the name and part number for the exact rings you ordered?
