Honestly, this video makes a lot of good points, but I really do have to agree with the people who say that the outfit you're wearing is a travesty. I can't believe you had it custom made, because the suit jacket is obviously way too big for you (which is obvious to anyone with eyes), and the pants are incredibly unflattering on your body shape. I couldn't disagree more with your take on tie knots. The full Windsor is not too large if you tie it properly with the right tie (not too wide). By comparison, the half Windsor looks like a knot used by someone who doesn't regularly wear ties and doesn't know what they are doing. The FW also helps prevent the overly-long-tie problem. I have worn a tie almost every day since I was 12 and I know what I am talking about.
I agree the Full Windsor does not deserve this guy's ire. Your points about it are good, however, the Half Windsor is also a good knot. The Half looks best with short collars that do not allow for a lot of width. I agree that it can look like a more casual knot, but that is part of the sprezzatura look.
I have a large head. Pin head knots are best for pinhead people. I always choose a half Windsor at minimum. Three are also other fun, large knots like the Eldridge knot. He is a rule follower. No sense of flair. Safe.
I agree with most things on this list if you're in a primarily business setting through your daily life, but honestly, wear what you want with confidence and you can pull it off.

I have an urgent question of etiquette: A childhood friend of mine recently bought a farm, where he grows crops and sells them. In other words, he has literally turned into a peasant. My question is this: Do I have to send him a formal note (written with my 2000$ fountain pen), informing him that he is no longer welcome at my mansion, or is it OK to have my stable boy fetch the hounds right away, the next time he shows his dirty sandals at the northern gate? I understand that you're trying to make the point that it's important to dress well, but it doesn't work when you say that dressing otherwise will make you unintelligent, immature, or look like a used car salesman. These things come off as very snobby, pretentious, and unintelligent in their own nature. Why judge someone so harshly based on their material objects or how they dress rather than the content of their character? If you do so, then it's not that there's something wrong with them, it's that something is wrong with you.

If you are in a crowded area where you might brush against someone with a backpack/rutsack then you could just take it off and carry it with the handle. It'll be more comfortable when walking a fair distance.
So today I learned fashion is basically setting a group of people apart from others to feel higher and better then them based on judging people harshly based off the hierarchy built by ages of judgmental prudes on wether or not one can afford, chooses to, or for whatever other reason dress a certain way. I also learned that manners and respect don’t necessarily come with dress or fashion. There were many undignified words said here, very unfashionable indeed.
Its a sack suit , a traditional style which was originally introduced by Brooks Brothers. I would have liked a somewhat more defined shirt collar to complete the look. I think the shirt collar is too small for the suit.

Hauling a laptop, water bottle, books and a few other things around campus all day is way more bearable with something that distributes the weight evenly over both shoulders. Man who makes money selling expensive clothes explains how you are not a "gentleman" unless you buy expensive clothes he likes.
It sort of feels like the tailor saw you coming from a mile away, and decided to take you for a ride with this 'custom' job. That or he really had no idea what he was doing.

Safe.

I have an urgent question of etiquette:
A childhood friend of mine recently bought a farm, where he grows crops and sells them. In other words, he has literally turned into a peasant. My question is this:
Do I have to send him a formal note (written with my 2000$ fountain pen), informing him that he is no longer welcome at my mansion, or is it OK to have my stable boy fetch the hounds right away, the next time he shows his dirty sandals at the northern gate?
Sincerely yours

Proper style is taking care of yourself, keeping your body in great shape and wearing well fitting and great color combinations. Backpacks do not maketh you a kid
I totally agree. I bought a nice leather messenger bag for work but when I went back to university I very quickly switched back to a backpack. Hauling a laptop, water bottle, books and a few other things around campus all day is way more bearable with something that distributes the weight evenly over both shoulders.
Backpacks also became a big part of fashion, so there are lots of options to have a good looking, stylish piece, instead of the boring type shown in the video.
@@HI-MAN_010 Totally agree with you man. yes you have to exercise your common sense over whatever fashion fad there is. A good looking backpack is far better than some other bag which will wreck your body later.
This IS AN ELITIST’S channel - if you don’t get it - just leave the rest to us!
@@MontrealMusiciansExchange Ok Keep the back pain and the ego lodged up there
For all the G-Shock haters, there are actually some insanely good looking metal bodied watches in the G-Shock family that look great and still offer the insane protection and utility of a G-Shock
I’m starting to feel insecure about my top hat and jockstrap combo now!
That gave me a legit laugh
Just get a bigger one of each
Just wear a pair of frogman’s flippers with them and you’ll be fine 😂😂
ah, the patrician's choice of attire.
If you’re still getting dates, go with it.
Can't wait to go grocery shopping with my briefcase
Bruh you go grocery shopping with a backpack?
lol this made me laugh loud enough it woke up my baby haha
Then don't go to the grocery with a briefcase. Duh!
You made my day
🤣🤣🤣
imo gentlemen dont go around calling people peasants for how they are dressed. Gentlemen should be humble yet self confident and radiate an aura of love to everyone around them.
Just don't wear white socks with a suit, peasant.
A real gentleman will never do that, indeed.
I do enjoy your insights for how a gentleman should present himself to the world. Thank you.
Summary:
1. Dont be a normal person
2. Be Dapper
3. Shave your ankles I guess?
Uh I'm normal? Uh uh gah ba dah. You're a good cookie.
@@oatsthedog Dont know if sarcasm or not 🤔
Some do.
"Otherwise you look like you don't know what you are doing"
@@oatsthedog I don't know what you just said but it was funny AF
This video has taught me that there are sometimes many hilarious comments on youtube.
As much as I enjoy this channel, the clothing worn by the presenters is often bland and unimaginative. Fashion isn’t so rule bound. What looks good on one person can look awful on another. Finding out what you suit and what you don’t is part of the fun of it.
Couldn't agree more, most of his tips are good but at the same time that suit is not something a guy who has a fashion channel should wear
Exactly. This guy is basically just saying wear nothing but a 3 piece suit
@@bigballsjimmysaville4206 it’s beyond y’all’s understanding
Hypebeast fashion is hedious but at least interesting to look at. This style is just keep it as boring as humanly possible to avoid any faux Pas or criticism. As interesting as plain bread. This is how accountants dress.
Plenty of good RUclips channels out there with good street fashion.
Exactly. He looks like he's going to a wedding or a funeral. If your going to judge clothing, you should look really elegant and he looks worse than most office workers.
Well me living in a rural working class enviorement, your fashion advices might get me in troubles. My dad was buried in overalls and clogs
