So many pockets, I'm so jealous! But honestly cargo shorts aren't flattering, they make most guys look shorter than they are because of where they fall on the leg. Its a double whammy when guys decide to wear long socks along with it. But they have their use during outside type activities, but in everyday casual wear it looks a little sloppy.

After such an upbringing, I became a gentleman myself. I saw how powerful it was being that way with everyone you come across. So men, if you can wear your football shirt, cargo shorts and socks with sandals, but treat people you encounter in life with a bit of class, you're a gentleman in my book.

The Backpack is the best way to carry weight for the body. I don't care what others think seeing one on me.
There are barely any healthy shoes out there that support natural toe placement. Sharp angles are going to push in your big toe.
Wide shoes which give your big toe enough space to be straight are the better choice health wise.

      @fr0ntend Год назад +7

@@quasimodo8959 It never ceases to amaze me how offended people can get by the opinion of others. Incredible.
I wrote that backbacks with a suit is a bad look, why would I care if you're not "always wearing a suit"? It has nothing to do with the subject at hand, You're not always wearing a backpack either, are you?
In fact, counterarguing with "I am not always wearing a suit" is a red herring argument and therefor a fallacy, since it is a useless piece of information.
For your information: Even though I definitely get the impression you're young and probably in school (which is where a backpack is appropriate), in case you're a working man in the middle class: use your beloved nylon backpack, by all means. You don't care about classy looks and that is fine. Everyone does not have the same style, and Schneider from the video certainly isn't stopping you from doing it. He is giving you tips and he said backpacks makes you look like an overgrown schoolboy (which is not wrong) and you still use it, so what is the problem?
Actually, why did you even watch a "style mistakes" video if you weren't prepared to change up your style? You just watched it hoping for validation or something? That is honestly pathetic.

It’s elitist and pompous. I’m sure it could have been a stylistic think or an attempt at sarcasm but the taste it left was very sour. And again this is from someone who agree with virtually all the recommendations. But life isn’t one size fits all. I couldn't disagree more with your take on tie knots. The full Windsor is not too large if you tie it properly with the right tie (not too wide). By comparison, the half Windsor looks like a knot used by someone who doesn't regularly wear ties and doesn't know what they are doing. The FW also helps prevent the overly-long-tie problem. I have worn a tie almost every day since I was 12 and I know what I am talking about.

I agree the Full Windsor does not deserve this guy's ire. Your points about it are good, however, the Half Windsor is also a good knot. The Half looks best with short collars that do not allow for a lot of width. I agree that it can look like a more casual knot, but that is part of the sprezzatura look.

Certain rules should apply in men's fashion. Discussing what they are is always a bit of a topic of discussion. I agree with much of his take, some I am at odds with. I do agree with the main concept -- dress in a classic style, in ways and with articles that are timeless. He didn't talk about stripes on stripes, as in striped shirt with striped ties, but that's a "no". Still, trying new things, taking a chance here and there, if we never changed at all, we'd still be taking two hours to dress in the morning, with men trying to get the powder in their wigs right.

I appreciate the time invested in these videos and I always enjoy watching them. I learned many of these things years ago although I'm not sure how. I'm the only son of a single-wage earner, blue-collar family. My father always looked handsome in a suit but didn't often wear one. I had a favorite uncle who dressed very well and I realized years later that my choice of dress shoes and patterned stockings were a reflection of his good taste in menswear. Later in life, after college led me into the world of Fortune 500 clientele, what I learned about dressing for business served me well; I always felt comfortable and confident with my clients.
Thank you for your support of cuffs on trousers; I always have them added, even on pleated khaki pants.
As I'm certain you have noticed, "casual Friday" quickly morphed into casual everyday. I've often wondered if that attitude has helped or hindered the value of our products and services; it's my opinion that has not helped.
I think that peer pressure has had a debilitating effect on how men dress in the workplace or at casual pursuits. It seems as if men who dress well are made fun of these days and I'm not sure why that is. I'm certain that more men would make the effort if they were not so concerned about the opinion of their work comrades.
I could make further observations but I'll hold myself to just one - the cost of stylish, well-made clothing. I know, high-quality clothing is expensive and should be seen as an investment in a career, but the workplace has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. Careers are more difficult to earn and wages? Don't go there. Many employees who have set their sights on a long, productive career with a successful corporation may find it difficult to include stylish clothing in a budget that includes a car, an apartment and even the most basic everyday needs.
When interviewing for employment it's always wise to dress well but conservatively; also, be cognizant of the reality that you might be dressed better than the person(s) doing the interviewing. That's not a good place to be.

I pretty much agree either for the most part on almost everything except for the cargo shorts. They can be stylish if you’re wearing the right ones especially it was a casual event during the summer plus functionally I wear them all the time when I go to the amusement park because you cannot have loose articles when you ride roller coasters.

Do I have to send him a formal note (written with my 2000$ fountain pen), informing him that he is no longer welcome at my mansion, or is it OK to have my stable boy fetch the hounds right away, the next time he shows his dirty sandals at the northern gate?

Alot of what he opposes is so true, especially with what I have witnessed, before my very Eyes in Retail; hideous and inappropriate attire mistakes. To each their own, but it reflects on you, including myself. We all judge and to a degree want validation or approval. At the same time, everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you keep it to yourself, say it out loud, or mutter it. One Fashion critique, I want to point out on him, is that Dress Pants/Slacks don't necessarily have to always match a Mans Blazer or Suit, it can be a different color; not just, in a Dress Tie or Shoes.
