Hearing the tracks like this, it feels like listening to one of those rock albums that try to tell a story like a symphony. This is Metroid’s answer to a symphonic arrangement, and you can feel the plot through the music
Not sure about the metroid composers specifically, but a lot of the old Nintendo composers were heavily influenced by prog rock like Emerson lake and palmer
@@darthbane2669 I know that which games are better is purely subjective and you're entitled to your opinion but your opinion is wrong. Super Metroid is the best Super Nintendo game, and is the best Metroid game in the entire series. There is NOTHING not left undone or unpolished. From beginning to end, Super Metroid is a masterpiece- from the first encounter with Ridley on the space station to the final hour in Tourian and escaping Zebes with your animal friends, Super Metroid is 100% polished. The controls, the graphics, the music- all of it is far better than any Super Nintendo game has any right to be. The developers put so much work into it and it really shows. Chrono Trigger is right up there next to it, and is certainly the best RPG on ANY Nintendo system, but Super Metroid is virtually flawless. I will say though that Metroid Prime is the best 3-D Single Player FPS ever made, and isn't that far behind in quality compared to Super Metroid. But for my money's worth, from NES to Super Nintendo, Metroid made the biggest jump- Megaman X also made one of the largest jumps as well. But to say Super Metroid is boring is absolutely absurd. You are wrong, sir.
I love a lot of these arrangements but the one that stands out to me us Green Brinstar. Everyone always falls in love with Red Brinstar but the green area's music is always underrated and I feel that if people hear this version, it mind change their minds.
Green brinstar is my favorite, but then maridia and lower norfair happened. Still bummed to see that not many people are making remixes of the aforementioned green brinstar theme.
There are no words that can explain how this Super Metroid fan boy feels right now. Just listening to this made me grab my Nintendo Switch to play the game lol. Blown away by the remixes such an incredible job
Goes to show how incredible the game design really was. One of the coolest videos I saw was Teen React plays of this and the way they pointed out stuff they noticed and how they reacted to how it was unfolding was joyful for me to see. Especially for the girls as they found out that famous "secret" that was revealed after they died in the game 😎
Spore Spawn is AMAZING. I actually felt the anticipation/sense of dread everytime that slow synth kicked in. The Best. Edit: Samus' theme is also VERY cool as it builds up. I *do* think that it's a little light after the build up, but I could imagine this piece fitting in nicely as a great rendition of Samus' theme in a more peaceful environment, or light-hearted situation.
I like how you continue to improve these tracks. Green Brinstar in particular sounds really good now. And I'm still always a fan of Galactic Warrior. Lower Maridia sounds amazing, too. That was always one of my favorite OG tracks. Loved the Maridia theme. Good stuff!
I’m going inside out because of this. I NEED a Metroid game with this music! Somebody call the guy who made AM2R and tell him to make another amazing Metroid game with this equally amazing music!
These tracks sound phenomenal. Thank you. The only two I don't enjoy as much as the originals are: Mother Brain Battle and Ridley- Draygon Battle. All of these sound crisp and higher quality than the SNES originals. Fantastic work!
I'm super emotional rn bc I just beat this game for the first time on NSO last night and I wish I played this years ago. This soundtrack was so immersive to listen to when my gameplay is still fresh. Green Brinstar is one of my favourite songs from the game and you just made it so magical, it still feels like Metroid but carries so much lush, earthiness to it that speaks so much to that area that a 16bit game sound cannot. Honestly, thank you so much for creating this and sharing it with the world
Really great arrangements! They really give everything a much creepier and darker atmosphere. Green Brinstar and Red Brinstar (aká Red Soil) were my favorit.
Holy hell...this was incredible I'll be listening to this ist now in my practice speedruns of SM! I especially love Lower Meridia and Green Brinstar! This makes me want a DM remake one day
Nice work, there's some really good stuff here. I love the way you craft an atmosphere by moving sounds around the space. Super crisp tones and effects too, very punchy. I'll be returning to listen to more of the tracks. Really digging the Green Brinstar remix right now.
I’m a huge fan of this game listen to the soundtrack often. I listen to your entire version of the wall door dashing tonight and I love it! You did an amazing job!
Well the motherbrain one definitely didn't sound how i expected, it almost has more of a hopeless but still intense feeling to it, like you're up against something you can't stop, which makes sense considering you literally can't kill her until you have the hyper beam I like it
This is fantastic, it brought back nostalgic vibes of when I played Super Metroid when I was younger. Thank you for posting this, I will listen to it many times.
some absolute bangers here! Great job on this remix, every track here definitely has a refreshing vibe to it, whilst retaining the original feel of the original sound track. Bravo
I really thought I'd be the only one to listen to video game sound tracks from the 80's and 90's. Now I know I'm not alone! Thank you for this. The music is amazing!!!
I love the Arrival on Crateria remix here. That was always my favorite track in the original. Ominous and foreboding with a dash of mystery and anticipation. Given how little they had to work with back in the day, they created a sense of atmosphere I'll never forget. Largely with the soundtrack. This game really stands out as one of the best in the Nintendo library. Too bad Nintendo only makes games for babies these days.
What is pretty impressive about this soundtrack is that it manage to be both very atmospheric and melodic. It is music you can remember unlike a lot of very serviceable atmospheric music used in other games. And good remix on the soundtrack.
Ridleys Hideout and the Final Battle w Mother Brain Cleary are my 2 faves. Absolutely love this game and was like my 2nd or 3rd game I ever bought as a kid for the SNES. At 39, still to this day is my all time favorite SNES game. There were so many great Legendary Classic games for this Legendary Video Game Console (pre online gaming days)
I played this game for the first time on Boxing Day 1994, as I got a SNES on Christmas Day at age 10 & spent some crimbo cash on a game at Woolies. This game still stands out for me as the greatest game of all time. Bar none. No joke.
I absolutely loved this remixed soundtrack of Super Metroid ❤. You sir deserve a good amount of respect for remixing the Super Metroid OST, Thank so much, You wouldn't mind remixing the OST of Super CastleVania IV.
I love this game ever since I first played it back in 95. My stepmom used to complain that I'm racking up the power bill because I leave my TV and SNES on just to listen to the music
When I played this game, the audio dominated. I'd often stop playing Metroid and just enjoy the music.
Same. One of the only games I've ever done that for.
Final Fantasy 3 for the SNES was another.
Super Metroid have super impressive soundtrack for 16-bit console.
@@valoch3187 that, and Zelda ALTTP
(A link To The Past)
@@bunnyben87 Well, yes, but IMO Super Metroid OST is just better. It simply sounds like 16-bit perfection.
@@valoch3187 i know, thats my opinion as well
Ahhhhh just imagine a remake of this game with this soundtrack. The ambience in some of these is beyond amazing.
can't remake a masterpiece.
Unfortunately they would remake it into a FPS like all remakes.
@@darrinsiberia They never remade the old Metroid in FPS Metroid Prime is a whole separate series
You could use this soundtrack in the original game if you know how to use MSU.
@@darrinsiberia what’s so bad about that? She could still do more than point and shoot

This
It's like a Pink Floyd or Tool album, lol
Like tool, almost. If tool and shpongle were to collaborate
Not sure about the metroid composers specifically, but a lot of the old Nintendo composers were heavily influenced by prog rock like Emerson lake and palmer
This is getting me through the quarantine
I feel you same here
You are the Metroid.
Lol. Quarantine. Okay. Call it quarantine when it's a virus that is actually serious and not a mix of the cold and the flu.
@@du4lstrik3 you're totally right !
This is a masterpiece. Super Metroid is amongst one of my favorite games
It's boring. metroid prime is 100x more enjoyable.
Darth Bane blasphemy
Played it, several times in fact. Almost got a 100% item pick-up rate. =/

One of my favorites remix of this theme is BlakeRobinson's one: soundcloud.com/blaketothefuture/brinstar-the-jungle-floor
I both equally. They both give me nostalgia and are just flat out bangers
its just like norfair and lower norfair/ridley lair.... lower brinstar kick your mind, just as when you enter kraid lair in metroid 1,...
Happy 30th Anniversary to Super Metroid, one of the greatest games ever created!
Yeah ! Followers on Twitch, (nexou31) I'm playing Super Metroid 😁
There are no words that can explain how this Super Metroid fan boy feels right now. Just listening to this made me grab my Nintendo Switch to play the game lol. Blown away by the remixes such an incredible job
i have no nostalgia for super metroid and when i picked it up only 4 years ago i was immediately impressed and its one of my favorites in the series.
It is truly masterpiece of 16-bit era, including soundtrack.

The Spore Spawn is an awesome reinterpretation of the original. It's obscure and tries to give you the chills.

In space, no one can hear you scream...
Oh wait wrong franchise....
Or is it?
Zelda franchise
Listen to the two themes back to back, and you tell me
Dead space?
Or alien maybe?
Considering that Metroid was heavily inspired by Alien and Aliens...

He legally can't do that sadly because of the Dmca and a cease and desist from nintendo.
That Title Screen theme with the cries of The Baby is just so haunting, chilling, and bittersweet. It’s great.
Nice remixes. There were a few I didn't care much for, but the majority of them sound great. I really enjoyed the Upper Maridia.
Thanks ❤️
upper maridia is cool
The mix of prime and SM3 tracks is pretty nice, upper Maridia is spot on.
Awesome remastered!
just three tracks in, and it's just incredible so far...
this reminded me of my childhood, I can't thank you enough for this amazing rendition of that original beautiful horror
