Wouldn't it be great to rent a room from the people with your favorite restaurant that included the cost of a meal or two a day. I love the drinks in the bag. That always surprises me. The BarBQ bun looked really yummy.
This is such a great idea and such a great comment :-) first of all, hello to you Sharon and to your husband, I hope you are doing well today :-) happy Tuesday! I have done this maybe a couple of times, back in the backpacking days 12 to 15 years ago, the price of a room in Southeast Asia out in the countryside even just 12 years ago sometimes you could find $20 a week or $30 a week, room and board. It does sound amazing but also don’t forget, the average salary in those parts of the world might only be $200 per month, so in the US you could think of it as closer to maybe $300-$400 per week including room and board…

Char kway tiaw does not use black pepper. Usually white pepper, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce(caramelised). The rest are prawns, chives, beansprout, pork lard, pork oil, chinese sausages(some do not have it), chicken or duck egg....and cockles.
Hi Dr Gary! Wow, you know I did not visit any specific tea shops but I have been to KL maybe a dozen times... always looking forward to the next trip, and now I will be on the lookout for tea!

I got some disagreement. Doesn't mean if something was invented in a country means they automatically have the best dishes made from it. Penang Chinese dishes are almost always rated as one of the top in the world. Especially with Chinese cuisine, it's highly localized. I am not saying China doesn't have it's own great food but it is what it is :)
You’re right Rajesh, and I’m happy to read this… both from your way of thinking, but also because there are many dishes (like these) where I AGREE with you (but I will say, it’s nearly impossible to voice these , simply because RUclips is what it is… there’s no way I’d make it through!)

Look delicious, I'm hungry now.
Mmmmmmmm want some
Smiling 🥰
Sabaidee Joel! I bummed I missed the Livestream yesterday I noticed it and the stream had already ended. Haha. Food looked delicious. In the states I've only seen tripe distinguished as just tripe (100 page one) or Honeycomb tripe.
Char Kuay Teow and Hainanese BBQ Chicken Rice are my top two favorites in this video.
Rock onnnn haha yeah these are dishes I think worthy of being a favorite anywhere :-) hope you’re having a great day, thanks for the cool hang out today
YUMMY wait for me.
Lol, nice comment ❣️
Ethereal mysticism in divine dimensions one with light and love.
Noodles? And liver? Yummm
I love it :-) simple, satisfying, and all you need… I’m talking about your comment! Ha ha but also, of course Street Food just like this. Have a beautiful day Mylah!!!

Woohooo... welcome to KL, Malaysia Joel and Li! Can't wait to see more amazing videos from your stay here. Enjoy and do reach out if you guys need help or assistance. Cheers!
Too cool, thanks for a great message and for hanging out with us through the video straight away today. I really do feel like KL is my favorite city in the world, thanks again for the great message and a cool welcome.
Good food i want to eat if i go to kuala Lumpur
Sirawit!! I feel like I got to meet you during this KL trip even though we did not see each other, so many great times through the live stream, I will not forget those
Char kway tiaw does not use black pepper. Usually white pepper, light soy sauce and dark soy sauce(caramelised). The rest are prawns, chives, beansprout, pork lard, pork oil, chinese sausages(some do not have it), chicken or duck egg....and cockles.
Thats awesome Keang!!! Thanks for the recipe details in full :). Have a great day!
Some of the best food and tea in the world is found right there in Petaling Street, Chinatown.
Hi Dr Gary! Wow, you know I did not visit any specific tea shops but I have been to KL maybe a dozen times... always looking forward to the next trip, and now I will be on the lookout for tea!
@@JoelsTastyRide Start with the famous Purple Cane tea shop and restaurant and branch out from there. It's been a long time and I can't remember the name of the shop but it's there around Chinatown.
Hello Bro Joel.remember in the party Dinner with your wife school? I'm Boogie👍💖🇵🇭 ilove your vlog😊
You guys look great and always find the best places. Grapes doesn't eat Beef but this episode makes me wish she did (so I could too ;) ).
Whats up Joel!! Hello Li 👋
Walt!!!! Best of mornings to you sir, I hope this finds you well. Thanks so much for hanging out with me yesterday, every week, thanks for the prayers, support, and the loving words. See you again very soon, greetings to your whole family, a blessed and happy Monday.
@@JoelsTastyRide thank you Joel. God bless you. And tell Li(God's Gift) I said hello 👋
Hello my wonderful friend. I was so exhausted Monday morning I could not stay up to beat you to the first comment
@@maxf3253 I did it for us. You are always first. Thank you for your support.

Oh yes, this is the famous old restaurant you must visit in KL. All those recipe is like passed on from their parent or grand parent. The clam noodle is insane.
Nash! Good morning, Selamat Pagi!
I remember the clam noodles, they were out today but you are right, the traditions and the food heritage at this place is just out of control. Amazing Spot.
Hey thank you for taking the time to write, hope to see you again for another video soon!!
@@JoelsTastyRide see you on the next one. Enjoy your day there.
Noodles, noodles and uhhh more noodles ❤🤣 , if Joel was ever looking for Li, he knows where to find her, sitting down with a table full of noodles
👋🏻Hello Caleb! How’s it going? How’s the wife and kids doing?🙏🏼😊
@@kevinandtanya2244 G'day g'day how are you both, how are your kids? I'm good thanks I just got home from physiotherapy n now just resting. Kids at school so abit of peace n quiet. No wife here mate just the kids and I.
@@calebsmith8892 we are good back home from our trip to our new vacation home. Our kids are good but busy with their jobs. They are on summer holidays right now. Is it winter there like New Zealand? Is that why kids still in school? Wives are over rated anyways 😂 Hats off to you for being a stand up dad! 🍻
@@kevinandtanya2244 uhhh your kids are working, that's good 👍, awwww don't remind me of our miserable cold winter it's just miserable haha. Yeah I agree lol the kids mum stabbed me 4 times and went to jail when the kids were 2 n half ( chloe) and Caleb was 7 months, so I got custody and now the 12 and 10 so I think I've done pretty good.
@@calebsmith8892 ya the 2 that live at home they are 16 and 15 both have been at their jobs for a year now. Our oldest is 27 and works hard and has also blessed us with 3 grandkids (10,8,5) Winter here is usually pretty miserable and rainy. If we want snow we go north. That sucks what your ex did but good that she got what she deserved and you got the best gift of all your two beautiful kids. We are young grandparents I’m 44 and Kevin is 46.

How come any food in yr finger tip become sooo so kicking good 👍
Malaysian food looks like someone threw a bunch of stuff together, but the taste is what counts and it is so good. When in Malaysia I have an ice kachang daily!
Kaya is more commonly eaten for breakfast. I do tall buildings. Must go back to KL.
Hilarious Darryl, but I totally get you! Actually, the video Im editing right now is even more on point with this idea... haha :). Hey, hope youre having a superb day today, thanks for the message! (ANd hey, cool shout for the tall buildings, I appreciate that part too, nice one man!!!)
I hope you get to go to Ipoh to eat.... if for nothing else.... eat the bean sprouts in Ipoh...
That is a very happy woman...
Kaya is a coconut egg custard jam...

You guys are awesome :-) cheers me up every Monday morning reading these
You didn’t try Clam noodle soup at that foodcourt? What’s miss !
I love all the food u cover but I wish the audio was better like in Marks, a lot of the background noise gets mixed in.
Li...the hawker said their family said they were from Hainan...not Shanghai...lol
Joel change to “Hainan” but he forgot to save 🤣🤣
Alvin thank you 🤦 I was translating on my own, haha… that’s what happens when I think that I speak Chinese ♥️
You two were too mesmerised by the food…😂
FYI I could hardly make out what you guys were saying in the coffeeshop as it was all drowned by the background noise. Could tell that she really enjoyed the CKT though.
"aroi maak" Hi Joel & Li 🖐
So great to see you today :-) I hope things are going well, let me wish you a very happy Monday. Noodle cheers, or even just coffee cheers :-)
You should have shown the front/signboard of each stall so we know which one...
Oooh yes, ssss, you're right :) I got carried away with ordering (its very fun in a Hawker type market like this, the energy is wonderful! and so are the smells) - have a great day, thanks for watching!
There is another stall there that sell pig intestine, stomach with paper soup. Which is good also. Unless its no more.

Hi Loida!! I am here making coffee in the morning so let me give you a morning Monday coffee cheers. Make this week a good one
You should travel to Klang for the Bak Kut Teh. Klang is the shaolin of BKT!
Praise the lord Joel, when are you and Li. getting married?
Haha Rodneyyyyyyyy my man!! 💍 Praise the Lord is right! Have a beautiful Monday!
They have been married a good year+ now in the sight of God.
Do you ever eat Japenese cuisine.
Hi Darlene!! Rarely, but yes, and I think we have two videos so far on this channel where we visit Japanese restaurants.
Can we get them noodles in USA? Amazon? Where?
👍🙂
Hello and have a great week
Wow Joel in kl
Ramzul man!!! Hope youre doing GREAT today!
@@JoelsTastyRide no worries, I get what you mean :) I just wish I get a chance to try real authentic Chinese food from China.
How could you not eat the Lala noodle?
Hi Cheh! Hello Mei! We made a whole video about that dish last time so it was kind of funny, this time it was sold out so it was almost like a sign that we were supposed to try something new today
Noodles are so under rated... slurp the noodles before the soup disappears...
The pau is kaya pau or coconut jam
"obviously the best noodles in the world".... Italy would like to join the conversation. lol
I cannot WAIT to visit Dave man!!! Someday... someday... for the roads climbs and mountains first but, noodles are a distant second :) yes!!!
@@JoelsTastyRide and the cycling! :) Big up
