Nice vlog ! How did you find out about Efteling ? Do they for instance have commercials about Efteling on TV and Internet in your country or of other themeparks in Europe. I know Efteling runs ads on tv and internet in countries in Europe but have no clue if they run them in countries outside of Europe. Efteling opened in 1952, 3 years later in 1955 Disney opened it first park. The first madhouse in the world called Villa Volta was built in Efteling and other themeparks copied the idea of a madhouse and made them arguably better. They were also the first ones with talking trashcans which was also copied by other themeparks. I have heard Americans on more than one occassion call Efteling the darker version of Disney because of the horrific fairytales being told. Someone told me in the US the same fairytales are sugarcoated but if you read the original books where the fairytales came from they are horrific. They do serve a purpose like teaching kids about stranger danger for example the fairytale wirh he story with wolf who ate the baby goats and then his stomach was cut open to free the goats. After that they filled his stomach with stones and threw the wolf in the river. Not to be confused with the fairytale of the wolf and little red riding hood. My little niece and nephew always liked being told the most horrific fairytales the most, go figure. Walt Disney went to The Netherlands in 1951 for business, there is a black and white video of Walt Disney visiting The Netherlands on RUclips. He was there to have his cartoons narrated in Dutch. He did business a 30 minute drive from Efteling. In 1951 Efteling just finished building the Fairytale Forest. We know he went to 3 themeparks in Europe before he opened his own park in 1955. He went to Tivoli Gardens in Denmark which opened in 1843 and looking at the year 1951 Walt visited Europe, he could also have gone to Bakken themepark the oldest themepark in the world which opened in 1543 also located in Demark. However no one knows if he visited Efteling even if he did business a 30 minute drive from Efteling. Efteling is the second most visited themepark in Europe, Disneyland Paris third most visited and Europapark in Germany number one most visited. A lot of people do say Europapark is the best theme / amusement park in Europe. Efteling is not is owned by a big corporation like Disney, it is owned by a foundation that focusses on theming and they put all the money made into the park it doesn't go rich owners. Therefore prices of entrance, food and merchandise are cheaper at Efteling than Disney. I saw you went to Iet's say a themed Dutch pancake restaurant. Did you know Efteling also has a themed pancake restaurant called Polles Keuken (Kitchen). They have interactive parts that start turning every 15 minutes and have magic water cups for kids that light up in a color when they are filled with water at the secret water tap. I saw you didnt higlight the new dark ride Danse Macabre in Efteling. Danse Macabre was also an already existing musical pièce written in 1875 which has been played since the 70's in the predecessor of dark ride Danse Macabre called Haunted Castle Spookslot. Dance Macabre is literally a dance with the dead. The dark ride Danse Macabre has an unique dynamic motion system that was invented just for Efteling, no other themepark in the world has this yet. Disney with their budget could probably make a great dark ride with this new dynamic motion system. Will you ever go back to Efteling or any other theme / amusement park in Europe ? A lot of people want to visit Europapark in Germany after I tell them that a lot of people think that is the best themepark in Europe. How did you find out about Efteling ?
